December 10, 2006 - 12/10/06 Wonder

Kristen....How exciting. I am a builder also. I would love to build for someone even close to famous people. We are 100% junior fans and have a liking for stewart (after all we buy alot at home depot). Junior has a great chance today. We are getting my sil and family Talledega tickets for next year and she is doing the same for us. (for christmas) Her children are 19 and 21. Everyone will be excited but Christie. We are buying the total package deal to meet the racers and all. I was surprised at how reasonable they were. I am sure the hotel wont be so economical. My sil hangs wallpaper for the Hampton hotels and that may be a plus for us if they have them down there. That was very special for him to sit through a race not really liking it. Tell him to keep up the good work.

Kristen - :sad2: :sad2: Our poor poor #8. I am so glad he acted in a sportmanlike manner afterwards. I know it had to be very difficult though.

Did anyone go see "Open Season"? We didnt get to, Christie got her braces today and was sore. We just came home instead.

My darling Howard got his suit for the cruise. He has church clothes, but I wanted him to have a suit. He looks like a little man. He is growing up and my heart is breaking already!!!!!

I was thinking last night....We are so excited, we have waited so long, we have prepared for months, talked about the cuise for so long, and it will all be over in 5 short days after we are on the ship!!!!!!! I will be so sad when we have to pack our bags the night before we get off the ship. I have been reading some of the threads and it looks like disney has a different debarkation procedure than carnival.

I didn't get to see Open Season either. By the time we finished getting Halloween costumes, groceries, etc. I just wanted to come home :-)

I think I will pack over Thanksgiving. I just found out that my last day of class is Dec. 8th! I REALLY hope I can get everything done my the 5th when we leave. I am going to need a vacation after that!

We are #24 and #12 fans - Jeff was robbed again:-( I do think that Junior handled himself better than I would have, that is for sure! I would have been cussing and screaming!!!

We will keep the #24 secret to ourselves!!! It reminds me of a couple of weeks ago. We went to eat at O'Charleys and Howard ordered a coke. She brought it out to him and after drinking almost all of it he said it tasted funny. I said "oh I'm sure it is pepsi" He got a funny look on his face. When the waitress walked by he asked her. She said it was pepsi. He said "You have ruined my entire weekend....to know I have been supporting Jeff Gordan...I would have drank tea." She brought him out a tea. After she left he told my husband "Dad, I need a bud" We laughed so hard. Keeping in mind, William and I dont drink. Just a little Jeff Gordan humor.

I was thinking the same thing this weekend while I was working on my stash of stuff for the trip! Just wait until you see what is hanging in the foyer when you are leaving the ship - wear your big dark sunglasses - trust me it will be completely overwhelming and you will cry.

BTW you two are really fun with all of your racing fan stuff! The drivers and crew really eat it up. My first DH worked in Indy and IMSA racing. It is a wild life, very much like being in the carnival or circus. The teams work very, very hard. There is a whole lot of behind the scenes work that most folks don't ever see. I guess you know that with all that Howard is doing on the track! Thanks for keeping us posted on his races. :thumbsup2

I may not have to worry about my little fella after all!!!! With babybird and Kristen to talk racing. JK LOL He would also do motorcross if I would give in but its not going to happen. He has a 11 year old friend that is fixing to start mini sprints and a 16 year old track buddy that just started IMCA modifieds. He will tell you...He will race NASCAR someday. I will support him all the way. If it happens great. If not...we tried. He has been in a national magazine twice and quite successful so far. That is why we are giving up our family vacation next year to run the asphalt series here, there, and yonder. I wonder if it shows that I am a tad bit proud of my son? I am sure we will be doing the same with Christies drama. She could teach the class as she is the queen!!!!

They want to see the ticker everyday. When we count down from 30 days, we are going to celebrate everyday with a disney movie after dinner. Christie and I will have to do a few by ourselves while the guys are deer hunting. (They will all be belle movies)

Babybird - I will cry for sure!!! I have been known to cry for Hallmark commercials and all of their movies. I never get off of "Its a small world" at the parks without crying a bucket full of tears. (alot of very special memories with my dad who is now in Heaven) I am just a young sap!!!!

Christie and I just watched "Eloise at Christmastime". If you have never seen this it is a must. We love it. I have not even bought Halloween candy yet and I want to put up my Christmas Tree. We love the holidays. We just decided that we are going to get dressed up and take a carriage ride downtown to see all the Christmas lights when the guys go hunting.

I was thinking the exact same thing this weekend! I gave in and got the candy and have it all bagged and ready to go for the kids. This year I purchased treat bags and several different goodies to fill them. I also plant to have coffee and good chocolate for the parents - it's nice to treat them as well!
So, when are y'all putting up your tree? We have a house/dog sitter that will be taking care of things while we are gone. I plan to have the tree up by the end of Thanksgiving weekend, the weekend before would be better but I'm not holding my breath!

Shari- This reminds me of a heart to heart My little guy and I had just before school started. He had no intention of going to kindergarten. I told him he has to go to school so he can get a good job and live on his own someday. He told me "that's OK Mom. I'm gonna race motorcycles and live with you forever! I'll even buy you an earring (not a pair) with all of my money!" He is a die hard dirt eater! DH and the kids go dirtbiking almost every weekend after soccer. That is where we were when I cut my finger!
DS has no fear. He rides his little PW50 like a champ. It used to scare me, now I just laugh. He will ride all day and even pee his pants so he doesn't have to take a break. He told me that his riding pants dry out real quick-and it's like air conditioning out in the hot desert! They don't let them start racing around here until 7 or 8 yrs old, so he's got a few more years-but he can't wait. My girls are actually pretty good riders too- I think DD6 has what it takes to race but I wouldn't push her to do something she doesn't want to do.
I raced motocross from 8yrs to 14 years old. I was nationally ranked, but at 14 I was more interested in the boys  than the bikes! Mom put an end to it real quick when she noticed. Probably better for me!

Baby bird - My dh told me not to by the candy yet because he would eat it all!!! He loves candy. I could care less. I put my tree up Thanksgiving weekend. When we go out of town...I feel ripped off a week. I may put up a week earlier if possible. We are starting some renovations to the house so I dont know yet if I will be able.

Andrea - Howard asked "why, why did she quit?" He takes lessons from a local guy. Its one on one out on some of our commercial property. He loves it. This year he went to a camp in Hot Springs, Arkansas for a week. He came back with a broke arm. He will try anything he is allowed. That is why I am not allowed at practice. My dh said the instructor prefer that I not be there because Howard "holds back". I am like "that is my intensions".

I have never liked motorcycles. I have just seen too many wrecks. My dh always had them, atvs, etc. I guess my dad gave up with five girls and when my brother was old enough, my dad was too sick.

Christie got her braces yesterday and has cried almost all day. Why am I making her do this? She dont care what her teeth look like. She was fine and I ruined it. She later told me she loves me. She is just so uncomfortale.

I received the bracelets today. What a surprise.

It was quite the Disney mail day, the bracelets and a big box from the Disney Vacation Club with the planner for 2007/2008 and another big surprise.

Poor girl! Emilee is begging for braces:confused3 . Lucky for me, the orthdontist said not this year, maybe not for another 3 or 4 years. Just check in every year. Maybe a miracle will happen and we won't have to invest at all!

Poor baby! Braces are a tough road. :headache: Once she gets used to the brackets wrecking the inside of her mouth, the fun really begins! I remember loathing the thought of going to get my braces tightened. My orthodontist had Mickey Mouse hands - NOT KIDDING! I have a little bitty mouth (DH disagrees!) and the doctor used to put what seemed like both hands up to his elbows in my mouth at one time!!!! Ugh! My only suggestion is to toss a piece of Trident gum in her mouth as she leaves the office. Chewing gum right after an appointment was like scratching an itch. Mmmmm. Made everything better!
Here's some hugs for her future beautiful smile!
It IS worth all of the pain and mess. Tell her to eat a piece of bread (don't remove the goodies in the brackets) and then smile at her DB! :thumbsup2 Her food smile shock-factor increased by a million today!

Kristen - This is the second go around for Christie. She had a roof expander because her mouth wasnt big enough for her teeth. I wandered if they were talking about the girl I live with. She had braces on just the four front teeth. Now they are all over. Howard had them on the front four also with a herbst appliance to make his jaw in line. His second phase wont come until next year. I just want them to have beautiful smiles when they grow up. My parents waited until I was almost 16 and I had them on when I got married at 18. I begged them to take them off. They took them off after I was married for 4 months.

Thats a good idea with the coffee and hot chocolate. We live on a very busy road and not many trick or treaters. It seems when we move around it is either the whole town or hardly anybody. When we moved last time I had made 200 bags because our neighbors warned us and still ran out. I started giving chip bags. Here we have very few. I make special bags for the childrens friends and neighbors and leave a bowl outside when we leave and when we get home we still have candy in the bowl.

Watch the bar closely. The roof of my mouth grew over mine and the (big handed) doctor had to er, slice it to remove the bar. :scared1:
I still have a scar.
