December 10, 2006 - 12/10/06 Wonder

Thanks for the warm welcomes.....can't wait to meet everyone. My name is Monica.

I'm local - live outside of Orlando - so will be driving to the port Sunday morning. Would be interested in meeting up w/ people either before or after the cruise (I will be working the Friday before, and unfortunately will be back in the office that next Friday too :sad1: ).

I'm a little nervous about traveling by myself, but this will be my 3rd DCL cruise. A friend of mine may end up joining me, but only if she gets a new job :goodvibes . Can't wait to get onboard - am looking forward to some relaxing times. Has anyone ever done the Rainforest in the Vista Spa?

We need to talk! I have to implement a Technical Change Management strategy for a QA Corrective Action I am currently leading :-(

Sure, we can chat about it. We've just gotten busy with our quarterly SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) self-audit. Not one of the most fun things I can think of. In fact, sticking myself repeatedly in the eye with a fork would probably be more soothing.

QA corrective action as QA of process, or software?

I was just in WDW this past May as a solo trip before a conference in Orlando. The upside was I got to do exactly what I wanted to do, eat where I wanted to eat and keep my own schedule.

If you're up for it, I would love to talk to you and perhaps get your impressions of a DCL cruise as a single traveler!

Toontown is a Disney online MMORPG game where you play with other people at the same time, some from other countries. I play with people from Canada, UK and Finland. THe game is rated E and is completely safe for young people.

To Disneys credit, they have created a game that a 5 year old can have fun playing, and is challenging enough for adults to play. It can be addicting once you get past the first few days and understand how you need to progress through the game. I am convinced that more adults play than kids. I have been playing for over a year, and still have fun as new things are added several times a year.

They have a three day free trial. The website is www.toontown.com. WARNING! don't sign up if you have something you need to do.

Neal - that's all I would need now!:rotfl: I still haven't gotten very far in Kingdom Hearts II which I started playing last winter! The vacation planning software project seems to eat all of my free time and now the podcast planning takes up what little time there is left over!

Have you tried VMK and how does it compare to ToonTown?

Have you heard of the Montessori methods?

i cannot really say, i may have but i have probably blocked it out, i deal with an intense population, between that and being a lawyer, my brain is purging so if i am not constantly using those methods, i would not remember them, so to make a long story short, i'll say no

Sorry we have been crazy with work, DD school and trying to catch up on our sleep! :goodvibes

I am a paramedic for a busy ER here in Tampa and DH is a firefighter/paramedic with Hillsborough County. It is fun work, never the same, very high stress but love it and wouldn't want it any other way. Someday will go back to school for the R.N. would really like to go all the way to nurse practioner. Just need to get off my rear and do it! :thumbsup2

On that note...is anyone bringing your laptop (or work) with your and/or your work phone to the parks (not the ship!).

I have a feeling I will be as I always carry my phone and I will be in the middle of my last semester of school, so I will have to be able to access my courseroom :-(

I always carry my cell phone just in case for emergency. Even on the cruise. We get good reception when we are in port, the rest of the time it will be off and locked up in our cabin. :cheer2:

3 days and I can book our palo and oceaneer club!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I can't wait to bok either. I have a feeling I am going to get nothing and have to rush to re-book on sailing day.

I saw that they are updating the Wonder and putting in the spa villas. I have heard so much talk about them on the Magic-anyone here thinking of booking one?

Here's a link to the drydock upgrades that we will get to enjoy!

I just finished our quarterly SOx audit! Yes, the only thing I can think of that is worse than testing those controls REPEATEDLY is having to write them again;)

My CAPA is for a disasterous data loss we had a few months ago completely tied to poor processes and lack of documentation. We manufacture medical devices, so FDA regulations are involved and it is not pretty. Once I get this corrective action closed, my next project is to build on it and flesh our our skimpy Business Continuity Plan.

OMG...I am even boring myself:sad1:

Yikes! FDA involvement and SOX! Talk about a lethal cocktail.

I have pretty much everything undercontrol and have a pretty good change management, processs/system in place. This stuff drives me NUTS and the cost that it must be driving into business. Right now I'm scrambling to gather the documentation where the business owners say that what we put into production was what they wanted put into production and met their requirements. I feel sorry for the poor business owner, I dropped 45 "yes this is what we wanted..." documents on her email on Friday.

As far as business continuity or disaster recovery, luckily that is not my responsibility.

Yes --- this is boring.

Is it any wonder I try to focus on happy things like my new bi-weekly podcastm DCL and WDW?

Have not tried VMK, but it was written by the same group. Since toontown is a subscription game, I suspect that it is much better.
