guys we have not had any posts in our folder for over 24 hours, i want to keep us on the first page and i guess i will have enough excitement for us all, i have decided that i am going to pay off the cruise next friday, final pmt is due on the 11th anyway
I am so jealous!!!! Your cat3 room is beautiful. I was on a thread earlier looking at rooms, and I posted asking about my room. When I posted, you had just posted. Did you know what they looked like? I am just happy to be on there. I am so excited. The only thing I have not done is Palo. I cant do it yet. I was wrong also when I told you 120 days, its 105 days.

HappyLawyer, you will be able to book Palo and the spa stuff as soon as you make your final payment. We made ours early so that we could take advantage of the 105 day mark for booking ... though, it didn't do much good. We did not get the times we want at all. The DCL website asked me to take a survey about what I was doing on the site and what I thought of the process, and I told them as much. Why would you only offer a 6:30 or 7 Palo time to a person who has late seating? I could see if the whole ship was booking and we were late in the game to book, but I booked less than 2 hours after the 105-day mark opened. And, why do you need to cancel your Palo ressie just to see if a later time has opened up? Regardless, I think the process leaves a lot to be desired, and I will just have the concierge handle it when we get aboard. I don't mean to sound snotty at all -- trust me, Mike and I live very humbly and splurge on vacations. It's our one vice!

P.S. Are you in one of the mid-ship cat 3s? We were not originally. We had been assigned to 8046 because they claimed that was "best available." Then I found out that all 4 of the coveted mid-ships were open, and it was a HUGE pain to get the cabin switched, which we finally managed to do. We had done that because we wanted to bring along our 5-year-old niece, but she's just starting kindergarten this year, and her parents don't want her missing a week of school. (This despite my pleas that it's early yet... I am sure I can handle helping her with Kindergarten homework! ;))

HA! My kids are 6 and 10 and we're taking them out of school for the week. They need to get a grip. Missing one week of kindergarten isn't going to scar her for life.

Final payment is close (actually I've already made my final payment) This coming weekend I am going to buy travel insurance. I can't believe how quickly the time has flown by!

yes, now all i need is the SW ding for my fly out date of 12/9 and i am good to go

Hopefully they will decide to let your niece go. My sister is the same way. She would never take my niece out of kindergarten for even a few days. She thinks I am commiting the ultimate crime for taking mine out of school for a week and a half. I say you never know what is going to happen from one day to the next. Every family moment we can share together is worth more than anything they can learn at school. Fortunately, the school agrees. The attend a montessori school and travel to them is a plus!!!! We will go around the world in epcot!!!!!!lol

me too, i take my dtr out and i could care less what others have to say on the issue.

Happy Lawyer- I'm as excited as you, I've just been too busy to do anything but lurk this past few days! I'm back at work now so maybe I can help keep our post on the front page!

I agree, Our kids' school is very supportive and accomodating allowing us to vacation whenever we want. I think the life lessons are always more important than the wrote lessons!

I wanted to share something that I just read. Yall might already know, but I didnt. If you carry a pillowcase on the first night to guest services (on the cruise) in a ziploc baggie, they will get all the autographs on it and bring it back to you on the last night. She said she Ironed on the princess for her dd and carried a fabric pen. She also said she washed the pillowcase first and when she got it back, she ironed the fabric ink in to set.I think the children would love this.

Please, if she were my kid, I'd have no problem taking her out of school. :)However, her school counts all absences against the kids, and taking them out for vacation is frowned upon, and so her parents say no. :sad2: I feel bad because I know it will be a long time before they have Disney Cruise vacation, and I'm sure Sammie would have a blast!

This is us bribing her to go into the reception at our wedding!

We're all paid up for everything, ressies are made for land portion, just waiting til the 75 day mark to make excursion, Palo & spa ressies-then I'm going to be out of my mind BORED because I have nothing else to do but wait...and wait...it's killing me!

Oh my gosh she's adorable. Can't you just smuggle her on in your carryon? :goodvibes

Our kids' school keeps track of absences and all that too. My kids were given the option of staying home and getting the "all around all star" award or going on vacation. It's never been a struggle for them! The school has us sign a form saying that we will be "homeschooling" for the time we are gone (for any trips over 5 days) then the school still gets paid as though they are attending. Teachers give us daily assignments, which we do in advance usually, and everyone is happy!

Bless her heart. She is precious. Maybe you can take a pillowcase for her. You cant just get that everywhere. That would be special.

Nothing really to add. Just checking in!

Also taking my 9 and 6 yr olds out of school.

I get to make reservations on Tuesday, so I guess I will be up at 3AM the day before I go back to work :-((

Well, figuring out the travel insurance is going to be interesting. It seems a bit confusing to me.

WOW!!! I thought I was organized. I write everything down about 200 times! I am not comfortable on the computer. I write it down and my 10 year old daughter puts it on the computer! How ridculous is that? I love it though. My travel agent does the major stuff. She is also doing my palo ressies and whatever else we decide between now and the 75 days out.(is that right? I have read 90 days and 75 days) I do my land stuff. After all our trips to wdw, there are still things we have not done. We have our favorites. This year we are trying to squeeze our favorites and some things we have not done into four days. I wish we could stay a few more days on land but we have to get back for our business. With your new travel thing, you could save it year to year and know what works and what dont. You could do your own book. Lord knows I need another wdw book. We practically have a library of them. I actually like all of them too!!!! The only one I have seen advertised that I cant seem to find is the Passporter for Cruises. I have the standard one.

Oh, everything will be printable, in either 5.5 x 8.5 or 8.5 x 11 format.
