So we already booked our trip for the first week of December and the crowds won't make me change our dates, but I'm just curious.

What do the crowds look like for these days? It's a Monday through Thursday. I know weekdays are usually low key, I'm just wondering because it's the week after Thanksgiving. Do schools get this week off? Or just Thanksgiving Day and that Friday?

Any help would be fantabulous! :thumbsup2

Thank you!

We are going the same week. We go the week after Thanksgiving every year. The crowds are always VERY light. I think the longest wait is no more than 20 mins or so.

The schools are out the prior week, which includes Thanksgiving. I don't know of any schools who get two weeks off for Thanksgiving.

Have fun!

I could  you! Thank you!

Yeah, I wasn't sure about the school break thing. Shows how long since I've been in school. :confused3

I am very excited, thank you again! :goodvibes

We went the week after Thanksgiving last year, and the park was very, very quiet (and it rained a bit, which helped). Our family won Dream FP's two days in a row, and we couldn't even use them because there were no lines. It would have been really disappointing, but those 10 Dream FP's came in handy for my 4 other trips this year. ;)

Yay! One more chance on getting dreamed before YOAMD goes bye bye! :thumbsup2

How will the crowds be the saturday and sunday after thanksgiving? We are also going this time period.

Unfortunately, the outlook is not so good. Thanksgiving weekend crowds are pretty awful. Sunday early morning would probably be your best time in the parks and it may be a bit less crowded since many people will be traveling home on that day. Get to the parks early and collect FP often and you'll be fine.

Everything I've read says the 3rd and 4th shouldn't be very crowded, especially since the park doesn't close late those nights.

I think you should change it, you should go Jan. 3rd-8th....LOL HAVE FUN Courtney!!!! :)

I am glad to hear the crowds will hopefully be light. The second and third of December are our days at the park. We will be arriving in LA on Thanksgiving day and I have heard unless we want to get crushed we should avoid shopping on Black Friday lol.

I just realized that we are going to be at Disneyland on Walt Disney's Birthday on Dec 5. I wonder if they do anything special on that day?

Wait my days are 3rd and 4th, I am so excited I don't know what I am talking about anymore :cool1: :lmao:

FWIW, I've been in Disneyland on the anniversary of Walt's death and they didn't do anything special. They might release a pin or something, but that's about it.

Thanks, SK! Very good to know, at least DBF will be happy knowing they don't do anything special that he's missing out on. :rotfl:

This year will be the third time my family has gone to DL the week after Thanksgiving....don't tell anybody, but it is a GREAT time to go. The only downside is the potential for rain (like the torrential downpour that ruined our last day at DL the last time we made this trip) and no Fantasmic. The early closing times are actually kind of nice, b/c it forces you to leave and get a good night's rest for the next day. Typically the longest lines are 15-20 minutes, and many rides you just walk right on. I will be there 12/2-12/4 this year.

:thumbsup2

Wooohoo! I've never been to DLR while it's rained, I won't really mind if it does!

I'm excited for the early closing times too. We're normally used to stay at the park until 12am, and then we're dead tired the next morning, this will be nice to go to bed early and be refreshed! :)

A little bit of rain (or even rain off and on) is ok at DL, but the storm we were in last year was absolutely miserable -- driving, pounding rain for about 4-5 hours straight. As long as that doesn't happen this year (knock on wood), our trip (and yours) should be great.
