Is anyone on here on Facebook? I set up at group (closed so it's private) there for my June 2011 (24 days from now!!) cruise & it's been VERY successful! It's been a lot of fun to share a little bit easier & a lot more privately plus it's been great to put names & faces together. Is anybody here (so far - we are a ways away!) interested ??? I'll set it up - we don't have to be "friends" on FB. If I set it up - you just do a search for whatever I title the page as & then request to join....et voila.....

We booked our dummy cruise for this date while on the 10 Day Mexican Riveria in April. Pretty sure we will be keeping the date. Will be our 7th Disney cruise if we do not snag one prior.

We just got back from our "Dream" cruise & the ship is gorgeous. There are some things that I didn't really care for & I'm hoping that maybe DCL will change whilst they are building the Fantasy. But then again maybe not.
First off - the pools on "sea" days are CROWDED!!! It was like people soup. Our kids (who are now 11 & 8) stayed in their respective clubs the one & only at sea day we had on the Dream. Hubby & were lucky enough to snag two chairs in front of the funnelvision (we didn't want to be in the adult only section in case the kids did wind up coming up on deck - which they did for lunch). Neither one of us got in the water. The pools are so small for that amount of people. My suggestion is to swim at night or on port days.
Second - I thought the food was better on the Magic. Not that it was horrible (a few dishes were) but I just thought the choices & quality was better on the Magic - drinks too. They were VERY weak on the Dream.
Third - it's really odd (and I've seen this mentioned a time or two in other posts) is that the Aft elevators drop you off in Cabanas (the buffet restaurant). So you have to go thru the restaurant to get to the pool deck. Once you get used to it, it's no problem - but for the first 2 days we were like - "How do we get to the pool from here??"
Good thing - we LOVED the Aquaduck we rode it at night on the first day (during the 2nd dinner seating). It's so very cool. And you do get wetter than you think . The line on embarktion day (whilst still in Port) was 40 mins +!!! But we kind of figured that'd be the case. So we just ate lunch, wandered around & then went to our stateroom. We had a category 10a stateroom - located on deck 9. It was a great location. Close to the midship elevators (which are extremely busy) but we didn't have any noise at all. The virtual portholes are very neat. The decor of the rooms & the whole ship is gorgeous! Very regal.
Didn't like the "bar" area. The only place open past midnight was "evolution" which is their dance club. All the other ones closed at 12. The sports bar ONLY carried ESPN/ABC which I HOPE changes once it's not summer time. DH (and I) will be SOOOOOOOO upset is the NFL and NHL isn't carried. They were both carried on the Magic so let's hope that it was just summer & that's why there was no other sports stations offered. Although Pink! was a very nice area.....it seemed a little too froo frooey. And small - same with the Skyline bar....very nice decor & we loved how the "skyline's" changed every 15 mins. But they each only say 25 people......
Overall we had a great vacation. Our kids absolutely LOVED their respective areas (DS was in the Edge & DD was in the Oceaneer Lab). They also loved meeting & hanging out with the penpals they made beforehand.

Thanks for the update. Your pics have been great. I am very excited to go on the Fantasy. I think knowing that the pools will be crowded helps manage expectations. I am hoping that they add some special dinners for the 7 night and I am really hoping we can do Palo for brunch and dinner once each.
If anyone has a DD who will be 8ish on the cruise let me know because my DD would love to have a friend. she does so well if she knows someone in advance. I also will have a DS4 and DS3 but they will at least have each other.

Thanks for the great mini trip report! Your pics were fabulous on FB, BTW. The virtual porthole looks like so much fun! If it wasn't my DH first DCL cruise, we'd probably do an inside instead of the veranda....of course if I get my way and we take a 3 day this fall, we'll definitely do an inside, lol.

Please add us to this group also, we had our first family cruise this past May on the Disney Dream, and loved it! I couldn't wait to rebook to go again, and I am so curious about the Fantasy. There are 5 of us total, me dh and then our 3 boys who will be 14,12,9 at the time of this cruise. I would also like to be a part of the fish extender group if there is going to be one. I would love to be include in the fb group also, I hope this next year and a half passes quickly....and the best news of all I have a new job that I start next week....for those who didn't see me lose it before our cruise I was laid off with less than a month to go...

We got our reservation for stateroom 8186 (aft). We went on the Dream as part of the WDW Radio group Feb/Mar 2011 and looking forward to this one in 2012. We also sailed on the Wonder in 2005.

FYI - that's how anybody who is on FB going on this cruise too can request to join. We are now up to 9 members!

I am subscribing. Can't wait for this cruise. We have around 25-30 people sailing in our group. I think all of us are down on deck 2 in the "cheap" rooms. LOL. this will be the 3rd cruise for this group of friends, but the group gets a little larger each year. We cruised the Magic Western in 2008 and 2010 the week after Thanksgiving. We wanted to do that same week again - but most of us didn't have the heart for yet another Western and Disney hasn't seemed to mix up their schedule yet - it is always the same trip the week after Turkey day! LOL

Right now I am counting down to our Dream trip in November, but I wanted to subscribe and get onboard here before I forgot and time got away from me.

So I notice that most of the other cruise threads have given themselves some kind of fancy nickname for their cruise… considering we’re stopping in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the fort there was Walt Disney’s inspiration for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, perhaps we can come up with some kind of POTC related nickname for our cruise? Anybody have any thoughts?

My DH (TheViking) and I just got off two weeks on Magic. We were on the Westbound Transatlantic. It was AWESOME!! Matter of fact, it was so awesome we this cruise on the first day we were on the Magic. We didn't bring our kids on the Magic but they will be with us on the Fantasy. I wish it wasn't a year away, I CANNOT WAIT!! I am a very impatient person.

I just asked to be part of the fb page.

We just got off the Disney Dream on September 22nd (DVC members cruise). That was our 7th cruise with Disney. We loved the AquaDuck...so much fun.
