December 03, 2005 Western Magic?

I'm here! I'm here!! A little late but here. :goodvibes

Sorry... work has been nuts!! Not to mention all the things we have going. Colton & Justin are both playing soccer this season. And, in typical Jeanna fashion, we are coaching BOTH teams. Colton is also in baseball, as well. Add in the 60 hours a week for work. Plus, because of the hail storm we missed while gone on vacation, we have gotten new siding, new fascia, new gutters. We are getting our new front doors installed today. The new carpet (long story) for the living room, play room, stairs and upstairs hall will be installed in 2 weeks. I have to finish power-washing the fence so I can have the pleasure of staining it again. We have planted 10 new shrubs and have 2 or 3 more to go. Boy, I am getting tired just typing it all! :sad2: I can't wait for the kids to be done with sports and school!! Think of all the free time!! :earseek: :wizard:

Hope to be around again soon before you all forget who I am or what I look like!! :3dglasses

Hello,
I just booked the Dec 03 cruise & wanted to say hello. I will be sailing with my DS11. My DH will not be joining me. He's just not a "Disney" kinda guy.

This is my first cruise & I'm a little nervous. I'm was worried my son might have so much fun at the lab I'll be on my own most of the day. I'm a very social person but not good at "the first move". But try as I might DH was NOT coming, I finally decided to heck with it I"M GOING ANYWAY!!

Now I can't wait, :Pinkbounc am waaaayyyyy overplanning and have about a gazillion questions. (DS assures me that's a real number)

I've read a lot of posts about requesting a specfic dining rotation so that you are in Parrot's Cay on pirate night & Lumiere's on formal night. How do I do that and what rotation would I need?

Welcome to our crazy group Suzanne. Your DH is going to be soooooooooo jealous when you get home and show him all the great times he missed joining in on. But I commend you on deciding to go anyway. You are welcome to join any of us if you DS ditches you. We are a great group of people, several of us having sailed together last November.

The rotation you asked about would be APL. That will put you in Parrot Cay for pirate night and Lumier for formal night. Give DCL or your travel agent a call and let them know the rotation you prefer. This is the rotation that several of us are doing also. We have early seating (this is the first early seating for us...not sure yet if we will like it or not) but we're trying it out so we can dine with our friends.

Whatever questions you have feel free to ask them. Like I said, several of us have done this before and are just bursting at the seams with information, especially our own personal travel agent, Jeanna. If one of us don't know the answer, Jeanna has ways of finding out. Love you Jeanna.

Welcome Suzanne!!! Glad that you found us. My DH is definitely not a Disney guy either, but he loves Disney Magic Cruises. This will be our third on Disney. But if he doesn't want to go then he would be sure to have a lousy time no matter what.

You'll meet lots of great people in this group to hang out with. We cruised last November (the week before most of the people who know each other). Met a lot of really great people (we still keep in touch on our original thread). There will be a meet the first day and you'll find a few people with the same interests and/or kids the same age. Also - if you don't arrange for table mates on this forum, you'll meet other great people at your dinner table. Be sure to tell them you want a big table.

A couple of months before the cruise you may want to look for kids the same age as your son and have them become pen pals. Makes them also feel that they know someone when they get on the ship.

We've been on 20+ cruises so ask any questions. We can also point you to some great information if you haven't found those sites yet ... like Dave's.

I just called & requested the APL rotation & early seating. From what I"ve read on these boards it doesn't seem like the late to early seating change is honored very often. Has anyone here had much luck with getting their time changed?

Suzanne - 2 years ago we (3 of us) were on the wait list for Early Seating. We didn't get changed before we sailed, but we boarded early and went straight to the ask for a change to Early Seating and got it. I'm not sure if we were just lucky, early enough, uncrowded ship or the fact that we had a 4 year old.

This year we ran into the same problem when we changed our reservations to this Dec 3rd week. BUT ... we got lucky - we switched our reservations to the AAA group and they had reserved all early seating. AND ... we got an extra $75 room credit and a lower rate ... WHAT A DEAL!!! Joanna can hook you up with AAA if you are interested. It was SO worth it for us to get early seating.

Sorry Jeanna ... my brain had it right, but my fingers didn't!!! My excuse is that I just got back from a vacation (Mexican Riviera on Carnival) and I just haven't gotten back my typing skills.

I am not actually a travel agent... I just love co-ordinating. It's that OCD gene I have. :rotfl2:

You can go through whatever avenue you would like... JUST GO WITH US!!! pirate: Get you some prices from a few places (if you are the shopping type). If you are interested in a comparision, let me know and I can forward you the info I have and the TA info. We booked a block of rooms for my family but most aren't going to be able to make it on this cruise but are in for the next one. So, we have a couple extra left. If we don't book them, they just go back to Disney's inventory. No harm. They are all early seating though if that is what you are looking for. We even booked the last set of connecting cat 6's for friends of ours but they can't use them. So, we even have those available if needed.

Either way, hope you can join us! The more the merrier!!!

If you hurry and edit the post, no one will have any idea of what we are talking about..... :rotfl2: :rotfl: :cool1:

I switched my res. to AAA (or CAA here in Canada) and although it was exactly the same price they did give me a $150 ship credit.

I couldn't get the early seating time yet but they made note of it on the res. & the agent was very nice & promised to call again after the 90day mark to see if she can get them to change it.

I hope all is well with everyone. Welcome to all the new cruisers! Sorry I've been off line so long. We just had my little brothers wedding last weekend. All of us were in it. I can't believe I had to be a bridesmaid at 40! There should be some sort of rule against that. But, the kids (and DH) looked so cute. Matt(son, age 6) and Greg(DH) wore tuxes and looked very handsome. Nicole (daughter, age 7) also looked cute. Nothing else needs to be said about the bridesmaid's dresses, if anyone has been a bridesmaid we all know they're notoriously hideous. I've never been to a wedding with 500 people before and it was an experience. The brides family is Greek and many of her relatives from Greece came over for the month to be here for all the parties and preparations. It was just like the movie, but without the Windex.

Anyway, it's nice to be back on the boards. I can't wait to catch up on all the posts that I missed.

I don't know if I thanked you Jeanna for hooking us up with AAA. I appreciate it!

Well I'm off to read all the posts to our thread that I missed! :flower:

Ok guys, John and I have pretty much decided to do Capt' Marvins Stingray Tour while we are in Grand Cayman. The main reason for this is they are more than $50 cheaper than DCL.

We have decided to do the 11:30 am excursion and were wondering who else from this group might be going at that time.

Excursions are even more magical when you share them with your Dis friends.:grouphug:

Hey all you AOL messanger users, John want to know if any of you will be around and on the computer on Sunday, May 29th at 4pm EST. He says that he really misses chatting to you all and would love to set up a meeting this weekend.

So what do you say?

i will be here susan i would love to chat with him. i just got back from pa. pollen is high i been sneezing madeline had said to me why you sneeze so much i told her i have allergry to pollen.
