December 03, 2005 Western Magic?

I would quote Vicki's story but then I may not get much of a chance to reply....

I have to say Vicki, I haven't laughed that hard in a looooong time. I was laughing WITH you not AT you though. I am picturing you telling the story and the eyes and the hands going.... quite hysterical. Sorry you had to go through all of that but glad you shared it with us.

If you are ever wanting to hear what happened to me the night we went to pick up the Denali, just let me know... I was just in knots. And, of course, in typical Rick fashion, he says don't worry about it, JUST BUY IT!!! UGH! Is there NO reasoning with that man??? :moped: (this is gonna be my new ride if I'm not careful!!) :earseek:

OMG Vicki, I would be so p*ssed off. Luckily for us we didn't have any trouble from our luggage carrier. Is it December 05' yet?

Still have to pay for the majority of the 05 cruise. Thats what tax returns are for. And still trying to decide on the 06 cruise, but more than likely we will be there. We just cant stand the thought of you all sailing without us.:cutie:

Hi, I just booked this afternoon. This will be our first cruise, including our daughter who will be 6 at the time. Any tips/hints, suggestions on excursions.

Careful who you ask for tips from... These people will tell you to stay clear of me!! I am an over-zealous planner. :) No matter what they say, I know they love me.

On a more serious note, we need details... category... deck... anything you are willing to give. Celebrating any special occasions?

As for tips or hints, the number one thing that was the best idea for our family was the over the door organizer in the bathroom. Made a world of difference for those of us that aren't 'Royalty'. ;) (Love you Vicki) The second best thing that was a great help was the pre-printed address labels for our luggage one the last night.

How about everyone share one (or two or three) of the BEST tips or hints from our cruise?

Talk soon! :boat:

Thanks for the reply and information. I still have a question about luggage on the last night. You mentioned an address label, what happens to your luggage on the last night? (I'm a cruise rookie).

You sound alot like I am, kind of anal in the organization and planning arena. Nothing wrong in my book!

We will be in Category 6, Deck 5 or 6, I don't know for sure yet. I will keep you posted. How about you, where will you be? So are you saying that bathroom accomodations are limited.

We were not able to get the early dinner, but have been put on a wait list, hopefully that pans out, I can't see my daughter (5 now/6 then) waiting until 8:30, she will starve. Is there anywhere to get a meal at a reasonable hour if we are not able to be seated at the early dinner?

How do I put a trip counter on my reply? (Rookie question)

On the last night, you have to have all your luggage outside your room with the color coded/character tags they give you by 11 pm. You have to fill out your name and address for each and every bag/tag you have. Instead, I have preprinted address labels that I stick on each of them and just add our room number and bag number to it (such as 1 of 8 and so on). Saves lots of time when you are already in a hurry trying to get it all packed up after enjoying dinner and the show.

As for our location, we are on deck 6 in a cat 6. We are in 654?. I can't seem to remember our room number for this cruise. I think it is 6542 but that may be for the November 2006 cruise. Or, it could even be 6530 something. Please don't make me pull out my 'cruise notebook'!!!! I beg of you!!! No good comes from that!!! Ask Susan! She knows exactly what I mean!! :flower1:

As for the bathrooms, they are ok but not big on space. We have a family of 4 and with all my stuff and the boys stuff (including hubby's) that is a lot of stuff to fit on them little counter/sink areas. With the organizer, we were able to keep everything in them with the exception of toothbrushes and toothpaste in the room with the tub and I could keep all of my stuff like skin care and personal products in the room with the toilet. It kept the counters from being cluttered and kept things in their place when the seas were rough. And believe me, the seas were ROUGH!!! :boat: Think that about covers it. With a little extra planning, the rooms are more than enough space. I felt the storage area in the category 6 we were in was great. We came on with something like 11 or 12 bags plus 2 car seats and you couldnt see a single bag in our room. There was a place for everything. Wouldn't want to ever bring more than that but there was definately great storage space.
