Dec. Trip: Roll the dice and hope for AP rates or book S/D?

The teacher rate is available for our dates in Dec. I'm torn, however, between going with a "sure thing" rate and hoping for AP rates at Deluxes. Anyone have a crystal ball?

I've booked my trip in Nov. with my AAA discount, but will be able to change in case codes come out. There are no guarantees that codes will come out. So, I would definitely book your room now with the teacher discount, because you can always change it (at least that's what I was told). The last thing you want to happen is you wait too long for the codes and then you can't get a room.

Did you call the Swan/Dolphin directly to find out out the teacher's discount in December? I have been checking the SPG website regularly to try to get AP, AAA or government employee rate at either the Swan or Dolphin and haven't found any discounted rooms. Thanks

I would go ahead and book the teacher rate, you can always cancel it if AP rates come out that you like better.

Book the sure thing at S/D. Having a ressie with the hopes of getting a code added has a more negative impact than positive. If there's a delux room at a discount available when you call then you can reserve it then and cancel your other ressie. Holding a ressie in hopes of a code is a risky chance you take if you can't or don't want to pay rack price.
