So my good friend and I have been planning a girls only trip to DL in December. The trip is me my dd 7 and my friend, she is planning to leave her husband at home, for a girls only trip. Well, he has been diagnoised with prostrate cancer. He has had surgery and starts radiation this week. It's so hard to mention our trip plans to her, since I know a lot will depend on how he is doing. In addition, I lost my husband 11 years ago to cancer, and he was her husband's best friend. I think I'm more freaked out then they are. How do you plan a trip and be excited about it when this is hanging out there? I need pixy dust please......

We also have a fall trip planned that my DH may not be able to go on due to a pending back surgery that could be quite risky.....I fell your pain. As the time comes closer and the news of your friend's husbands illness is more accepted, perhaps it will be easier to talk about.

HEY! You're in OR too! Maybe WE should do a girls trip...I have a DD13! heehee

Sending heap loads of Pixie Dust your way Abby.:)
I hope your friends DH has a speedy recovery from his treatments. And you all get to go on your December trip.

I am so sorry about your friend's husband. I will really keep all of you in my prayers. And I am so sorry to hear that you lost your own husband, obviously very young, to cancer. How sad that these two friends would both experience such a thing so young. Good luck and keep us posted!:grouphug:

:grouphug: Hugs to all of you.

I know three people who recently had prostrate cancer. All three have recovered nicely. One is my sons tae kwon do teacher was who back in action less than a month after surgery. I wish your friends husband good luck.

Lots of pixie dust, I know how much you have been looking forward to this. She is the one with the timeshare you were gonna stay in, right? That is so hard, especially because it feels bad to be excited at a time like this. Let us know how he's doing!!

Andrea
