Hi we are renting a home in Orlando for Christmas/ New Years. My question is should we pay extra for pool heat? I don't think the adults will swim unless it is unusually warm. However the kids will swim a few times. We rented a house in April and paid for the pool heat only to ask that it be turned off because the pool was too warm. I don't want to waste the money again.

Thanks for any info you have!

for the most part, I think December is usually warm but.... we went in Dec. /2005 and thankfully they had heat in the pool but once you got out it was still very cold. Although with out the heat, there is no way I'd even attempt the pools. The paranoid person in me would pay for it just to be safe!

Its the night time temps that affect the pool temps, and even though December can be quite warm during the day, it is not unusual to have frost on the ground in the mornings.

Without pool heat the pool will drop to 55 - 65 F, which is way to cold for me and even my kids. The pool heater failed for a few days whislt we were there at Christmas, and the pool dropped from 88 to 62 within 24hrs.
