Hello!
This is our 1st trip to the World. We're flying Southwest, so we get 1 carryon, 1 "extra item" and 1 checked bag per seat (not buying toddler a seat).
We'll get there on a Monday and leave Tuesday a week later.

I'm trying to figure what to pack:
We're leaving from St. Louis, so we'll be wearing our lightweight winter jackets.
We'll be wearing our tennis shoes and hats.
I'll wear the babycarrier on the plane (it will fit in my carryon for security).
Planning to pack for 5 days (with mixing/matching) and do laundry.
Planning to have diapers & wipes delivered to our resort.
Will pack swimsuits & aquashoes (fairly small).
Everyone will wear a pair of jeans and take 2-3 others.

Do we *really* need to pack a 2nd pair of shoes for everyone?

Thanks!

We definitely bring more than one pair of shoes each. When you feet start to ache and you get blisters from walking all day, it is nice to switch them up. Also help when the first pair gets wet, whether its from Splash Mountain or an impromptu Florida rainstorm.

I also always bring light gloves/hats for the evening hours...it sometimes gets cool in December...

Also bring 2nd pair of shoes...

When we fly, I always use the travel space bags...they roll the air out instead of using the vaccuum, and your suitcases hold way more clothes, but they are also heavier, so watch the weight on the bigger cases....

I'd make sure you had enough diapers and wipes for a good full day. IF your package doesn't arrive you will have some time to catch a cab and get to the store.

Yes, take 2 pairs of shoes. We went in May '09 (seriously bad rain.) WDW doesn't drain very well. lol
I did not have an extra pair of sneakers. I spent HOURS each night sitting in the laundry room at our resort while the shoes ran in the dryer--couldn't leave because they kept hitting the dryer door and opening it. Wet shoes are NO fun. Better to just be safe.

Just FYI, SWA allows 2 checked bags free per customer, plus your carry-on. That's great for us, but I don't have enough suitcases!

We went last year for Christmas and New Years and froze at night. Mind you that we were living in NY and are used to cold weather, but at night temps dropped to 30's. So I would definately do layers and as they mentioned previously gloves and light hats, Jackets are a must.

Have Fun.
