I am trying to start planning my vacation and am having a little trouble. Here are some questions. I know December hours are not posted yet. Last time we went February break and it was so busy and the touring plans made a huge difference. So, I am trying to figure out how much I need to plan this time.

I was wondering if there were any sites that listed previous years hours for December, so we can get an idea?

Also, Are EMH's the same days regardless of the month or do I need to wait for the calendar?

Can I see fireworks at MK if I don't go to MVMCP?

Am I better to go to the parks that have EMH or stay away from them on those days? We will be there Dec 1-5

Thanks a bunch! Any people who are familiar with going in early December, I would love any of your input.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you, but I'm heading there also in early Dec, so I'm anxious to hear what others have to say as well.

For historical hours, see: http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/calendar/historical/archive/default.asp

EMH Days sometimes change (even after being published) -- best to wait.

Wishes may not show on a MVMCP night, but I hear that there are fireworks (at least that what's I've heard with MNSSHP).

Am I better to go to the parks that have EMH or stay away from them on those days?

That's the million dollar question. Most suggestions say to stay away, but if you can take advantage of it (first thing in the AM or 'till closing) without it affecting the rest of your schedule, I would consider it. EPCOT has been crowded for the eventing EMH, but that may have been mostly a "summer" thing. Visiting a park early in the morning following the park's evening EMH is said to be a good strategy.

Enjoy! Early December should be a great time to go.

We are going to be there nearly the same days.

If you want to see Wishes without going to MVMCP (they have special fireworks for the Christmas party) then you'll have to plan to be at MK on Saturday night. It is the only night during your trip that the Christmas party isn't happening, so I imagine they will do the usual Spectromagic/Wishes that evening. That is when we are planning to see it...although we're also going to MVMCP on the 1st.

My sister was in Disney last year the first week of December, and it was not crowded.

When we went in April, a much more crowded time than December usually, we went to MK for the early EMH and the park was not crowded and we were able to ride everything in just a few hours. If you can manage the 8 AM opening, I would recommend it.

I wouldn't recommend touring MK on Saturday or Sunday. We've found that park to be impossibly crowded on the weekends, plus there are rumors that they might be filming the Christmas parade then, which will only make things worse. We are, however, planning to be in MK for the evening, as that is the only night we'll have the chance to see Spectromagic/Wishes.

Have fun!

Anyone else have any input that has been there the first week in December? Thanks

yes more information please. ill be going nov 30 - dec 10. more information please. crowds no crowds? thanks

I went in early December last year and for the most part the parks were not crowded. We went to the MK on Wed and the park had low crowds during the day but got packed by 5:00 for spectromagic and wishes. Same thing with MGM and Fantasmic.

During this time of year you can watch wishes every night MVMCP isn't happening. So on Monday, Wed and Saturday. You would have to check the schedule to see if Spectromagic would be doing on, though. My guess is they would do it on Saturday and either monday or wed.
