Dec 5, 2009 -- now traveling to Tortola

Welcome Bill, Carol, Denise & John! Wow! You booked yours around the same time we did!

Just the same, great to have you aboard!

As for the Gingerbread house, I could not tell you, perhaps others more experienced than I will have better info. If I find it first though, beware, I may eat it all before you get there!:lmao:

Don't believe him! He's actually planning to tear pieces off and throw them at DISsers he depsises:rotfl2:

I've been reading thread since it was first posted, I think its time I put our info on.. We booked this on board in Jan-Feb. 2008. I split the big final nite Bingo prize w/some one and we ran right to the booking table.:goodvibes
We are four adults, no more like Srs. I'm John, DW Carol(Lydia, but she doesnt like that)SIL Denise, BIL John.We are respectfulyy 62, 60, 54, 57.
Since our kids and/or grands will not be with us this time i've sort of just sat back and watched the excitement buld in those of you who are coming w/family:)
This will be DW and my 4th dcl cruise;) The in-laws first.
We will be spending three days after the cruise at SSR, visiting the other resorts and takin it slow. Question for anyone who knows, What resort do they build the big Gingerbread House in? Or do they still do that. Seems I remember it being done a few years ago, cant remember where.( One of the perks of getting up in age.)
Hope to meet some of y'all on board.....:yay:

Hi!
we are also traveling without our kids and granddaughter, and we are also around your ages. husband is 51 and I am 49. we love disney cruising.
We are staying at disney for 5 days before the cruise. You will love the decorations at all the hotels. We saw the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian a few years back. I can't wait to see the one on the ship!
My husband saw it last year on the ship, but I had to cancel last minute so he had to go without me.

so welcome! I'm glad we're not the only older ones. :santa:

John--I have added you to the roll call:goodvibes Can you please post (or PM me) if you have early or late dining so I can add that information in as well?

Doreen--I am so sorry you had to cancel your cruise last year. You'll have to make up for it by having twice as much fun this year!

We're in Palo at 8:30PM that Thursday night. We'll join the kids and my mom for a salad/soup before Palo so we can be part of the fun with the kids. The older pair love to dress up special!

Afterwards, we'll throw dinner rolls at each other in Palo!:cool1::rolleyes1

We have Palo Thursday night too - but I think at 6p.m. We'll be gone before the rolls start flying! :)

Hadley----We have late Dining. Palo on Tues the 8th..and yes the excitement does build in us too....setting aside shorts and sandels already. read the countdown clock evry morn..lol

Hey--you're going to Palo for my birthday! We are curerntly booked for 8:00 that night as well, but I think I will probably let it go--I really enjoy pirate night and never have really loved Palo the way others do:upsidedow I'll add late dining to your listing on the roll call. Maybe we'll see you at dinner:goodvibes

I was just on a St. Thomas tourism site. It indicated what ships will be in port at St. Thomas when we arrive. (http://www.havefunwithus.net/resources/StTomasCruiseShipsSchedules.html?scriptmode=edit)
It's as follows:

Wednesday December 9th 2009

Disney Magic (Wico)
7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Seabourn Spirit
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Eurodam (CB)
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Carnival Glory (Wico)
10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Freedom Of The Seas (Wico)
11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

So I don't know what the bracketed terms mean, but it appears that ours is the first ship of 5 to be at the dock on Wednesday. Places are going to be very crowded for sure so if you want any prime beach space, leave early!

Hey, I'm an accountant, too! And a DVC member. We bought DVC back in 2006 and have added on several times to the point where we own at 3 separate resorts. Are you eating early or late dinner?
Late Dinner.

Scot

Nice research:thumbsup2 The bracketed terms tell you which pier you will be docking at (or if you must be tendered--we get a pier:woohoo:). Here is the key:
(WICO) - West Indian Company Dock
(CB) - Crown Bay Dock
(Anchorage) - Charlotte Amalie harbour, passengers are tendered into Charlotte Amalie

I'm 51 and DH is 50 so you're definitely not the only older couple here.

The gingerbread house on the ship is nice but I don't think it holds a candle to the work at the resorts.

Tower-- We were on the Western Jan 26- Feb 2 2008, thats when we booked this cruise. If your flingin Gingerbread, fling a glass of cold milk with it.:thumbsup2

Hurley03- I think there will be plenty of us older folks cruisin. :) looking forward to meeting people.

Happy birthday Hadley.:wizard:

And happy Aniversary beachbratt:cheer2:

Aaawwww Dad:rotfl: I actually DID go to bed right after I posted that. I used to relaly have a hard time sleeping when Dave traveled. With him gone every week now I am getting better, but I still have nights once in a while where I just can't get to sleep and last night was one of them. It is nice eto have the DIS when that happens:goodvibes
Costuming is a big hobby of mine, but I haven't been able to devote much time to it for years.
Sounds fun. I bet, if you had the time, a local theatre group would love to have you come in on show nights to help:upsidedow

Thank you:goodvibes Happy Anniversary to you:flower3:

This is true. It is sweet but not nearly so intricate as those at the resort. Fun to have one anyway:)

Happy birthday Hadley.:wizard:
:

Thanks:) I still have a month or so left before I get THAT old:rotfl2:
