Dec 5, 2009 -- now traveling to Tortola

I'm with Hadley. I have to order the lanyards by Monday since it says it can take up to 4 weeks. I will order 100, so that may allow for some extras, but depending on how many last-minute joiners we have....

And I am almost finished with our FE gifts and only made a few extras. Can we all agree on a deadline for people joining the FE gifts at least? Whomever is in charge of the FE list, can you make an executive decision on this?

Of course, anyone can join in on the meets, etc. :-)

Hi Kathryn,

While most of us has not received official letters from DCL, the reasons apparently given are that St. Croix is only set up to accomodate one ship at a time and DCL was 2nd on the list. DCL therefore did not have a confirmed berth and they changed it to Tortola. Personally, I'm very excited about the change, but I do respect that others are quite disappointed as they have already been to Tortola or will be going on future cruises.
We have not yet received documentation of the change and any mailings we have received lately still indicate St. Croix as the port.

Looking forward to seeing you and the boys aboard!:)

Thank you we are also not concerned about the change, we debated between the two but chose St. Croix based on the date, so either one if fine with us!
Looking forward to meeting you!

Not sure if my husband signed us up for FE or lanyards do you have a list we are the Rada's

do you have the photo bucket address for the signature file? I think I must be missing something. I added the last one with an address.

Absolutely no problem I realize it is late in the day for a new request for FE, just was not sure if my husband had already signed us up. If you decide to take on more players we would love to join if noit enjoy the game and hope to meet you on the cruise!

End of the month or 1st of November sounds like an ok cut-off. If anyone votes for earlier, that's fine. I'm sure late joiners will understand about not getting the handmade intricate gifts and will enjoy anything that shows up.

Fluvanna

Can't wait for the cruise!

Will we have a cut off date for joining? I know my luggage space will be tight so I cannot really justify taking a lot of "extras" to WDW with me in case of late joiners, but I will be leaving home a little more than a week before the cruise. Maybe we should cut off fish extender and lanyard joining on November 1?:confused3 I am thinking for lanyards IF Amy prints all the name badges herself she needs a point after which she does not have to collect information and print any more. I hate to leave out last minute bookers, but I also think I cannot be the only person who needs to plan. . .

Does anyone know or have an educated guess if they will show the new Christmas Carol Movie on the ship during our cruise?

When we traveled the movie National Treasure 2 was debuting in the theatres, they showed it to us a day early. The kids loved seeing it first! So hopefully they will do the same for any debuting movies!

Has anyone else received a letter from DCL regarding the port change? I only found out earlier this week when I logged into the Web site to complete the online check-in. We booked through DVC and according to them we were going to St. Croix. I find it odd that we haven't received any formal notification since according to the DCL person I spoke with, the changed was made about a month ago.

Thanks! Rosemary

We are also DVC members and have not recieved a letter. Thankfully, I recieved updated info from this site. Thanks everyone

If someone has photoshop I could email them the image. I just use word and do a screen shot that's why the quality is not so good.
This is as big as I can get it. HTH

I hope nobody minds if I post anotherQuestion of the Week
Since we're 2 weeks away from all the ghosts and ghoulies to come out (sorry Hadley if they don't do this in Germany)What are your children dressing up as this Hallowe'en? Or will they stay home and give out/eat candy?

Me - Yes, I do dress up when the kids go out. Usually a black sweatshirt and dark pants with black marked up face paint and a hood to look scary. Last year though I did Zorro.
Erik - He just got a hand-me-down Darth Vader outfit that he can't wait to use.
Holly - Something princess like. She'll likely dress up as one character for the school party, another for a separate party they are hosting on Friday night and again something different for Trick or Treating
Peter - He's kind of fond of a tele-tubbies outfit he found in the costume box

Mine are undecided - the oldest is 14 so he may stay home and hand out candy and my youngest will probably change his mind 30 times between now and Halloween! I don't dress up but love to hand out the candy!:scared1:

Speaking of message boards: now that we have been upgraded to a room on deck 2 aft that essentially puts our two message board cabins in the same area. Is there someone else in the fore part of the ship who wants to take my board?

We are also on Deck 2 but midship. Let me know. I have a white board (maybe 8x10 or slightly larger) I can pack. And since we are driving to port, space is not a issue for us.

Thanks! Rosemary

My daughter Madalyn has two costumes. She is going as a pirate Elizabeth to school and then as a fairy at night when we go out trick or treating. The only reason she is wearing the Pirate costume to school (it was bought for Pirate night on the boat) is because her fairy wings are so big, she was afraid (and so was I) the boys in her class would damage them.

I just bought printable magnets from Staples for the cruise. Would you mind if I printed it for my door? If there wasn't too many I could print some for others too.

Let me know.

Thanks! Rosemary

Hi all, I've had this cruise booked for a while now but haven't participated in this meet thread. This will be our 6th Disney cruise but will be our first on the eastern itinerary. I will by travelling with my Husband and also my Parents who will be on their first Disney Cruise.

I hope everyone is enjoying the anticipation and excitement :) I can't wait to see what the Magic looks like decorated for the holidays!

Candis

this will be our fourth Disney cruise and I have never seen castaway cay that crowded. I also have never gone in the summertime, but I really think this is the angle of the picture. We always have a leisurely breakfast and then head out and have never encountered a problem finding a great spot!

Hi i have Photoshop but am not very technology oriented, so did not see where it could be improved. It looks great to me!

What a great idea - I was planning to surprise my boys with T-shirts, is anyone else thinking about that? And most importantly is it something you want others to use?

What are your children dressing up as this Hallowe'en? Or will they stay home and give out/eat candy?

DS3 Cameron - He's either going to be Stitch or an Elephant. We bought him a Stitch costume last year that was too big for him. It kinda freaks him out and we still have our DDs costume from when she was 3 (which is the elephant) and he likes it.

DD10 Haley - She hasn't decided yet if she's going to dress up. We would like for her to be Lilo if Cameron is Stitch but I can't find a Lilo costume. I can't sew too well or I'd make one. I can sew straight lines and things, but following a pattern is something I've never tried.

We may dress up my dog. Crazy, I know, but I'm crazy about this dog! Cinder is our little black and tan dachshund and I would love for her to be a hot dog! I can't find one small enough though. I think it would be cute for her to be an "burnt" hotdog! I have a ladybug one I bought last year on clearance for her so we may do that!

Kinda of bummed that DH has to work all Halloween as this will be the first year he can't go with us to take the kids trick or treating. But hey, we've had to have Christmas and Thanksgiving w/o him so what's Halloween?
