Dec 31 Magic Ports of Call?

Has anyone heard if the December 31st Magic is still going to Nassau, or if they were changed to Costa Maya? We have the same itinerary for our cruise on Jan 28th.

For the 12/31, yes, we stopped at Nassau, no change to Costa Maya. Interestingly, a cast member on the ship who are kids knew from other sailings said that Costa Maya was not that great of a stop, not a lot to do and gets lukewarm feedback. I ceratinly would have preferred CM to Nassau. However, we had a fine day day in Nassau - did the Blacbeard's Cay stingray and beach excursion which the kids loved. Apparently they hold a day just for DCL which kept the crowd manageable and gave the kids lots of time with the rays. The rays have had their stingers removed so its good for even young kids. They could improve this excursion if they extended the time - it end at 2pm and they usher you promptly onto the boat to take you back to the main dock area. Since the ship didn't leave port until 10pm, another hour on the beach would have been appreciated.

We rented a van and went to Rum Point on Grand Cayman - highly recommended though again, the time is short even with your own transportation since the ship leaves GC at 4:30 pm and its about a 30 min. drive to Rum Point. The beach was stunning, thers a great bar/restaurant, chairs, hammocks and a dive shop renting snorkel gear, a couple jet skis (not a distraction to the main beach) and other stuff.

Thank you for the report...Sounds like a fun time! We are doing an excursion with Native Way at Grand Cayman, and we will be going to Rum Point as part of it. DH will be so happy that there are hammocks!
