I know it’s going to be crowded. We are not going to magic kingdom on New Year’s Eve.

But we are planning days now and curious besides NYE will any other park or day that week be at risk of reaching capacity. Wondering if need to be at parks early each day or can show up in the afternoon and get in? Also anyone know what they do at Hollywood studious for NYE?

Epcot is the more crowded park NYE and can hit capacity. The party at Epcot is absolutely amazing for NYE. We do it yearly but make sure we are there by 3 or so to be safe. MK rarely will capacity out NYE. That happens more on Christmas day at MK.

We were there last year from December 28 - 31. We went to every park except MK (tried that the same week in 2015 - never again). We went to EP the afternoon of December 28 - it was fine. Definitely not shoulder-to-shoulder and quite enjoyable. We did RD at DHS (it was quite crowded that day) and then an afternoon in AK (really, not that bad). I would go early when you can and make sure you have your FP+ in place. MK is a whole other beast that week, IMHO. If you go to MK, yes, I would plan to be there at RD.

I would say Christmas day at MK is the only one you will risk park max capacity and even then its in tiers. Epcot will be slammed at 4PM NYE and I have seen it where it is almost impossible to walk around World Showcase around 9 and later. It is a great time if you are daring to do it.

None of the parks will reach capacity -- that hasn't happened in over a decade. They may reach a stage 1 closure, but that's it. As long as you have bought your tickets in advance, you'll be able to get in.

Epcot is definitely crowded NYE but it is the park least likely to reach capacity. I think the last time it reached capacity was 20 years ago. Last year there was a phased closure at MK on NYE.

And It’s more likely for a phased closure to happen at MK over Epcot.
