Dec 27/08 NYE Western Cruise - Really New Thread

It's a 7 night western leaving on a Thursday 23rd, there is an 11 night southern on Dec 18/10 but that conflicts with school for Claudia and Owen.

I see there is a thread started for the Dec 23rd that we are booked on, but I am not ready for that yet. I'm sure it will be a let down after this one, I can't imagine finding a group as good as ours.

Ok, as Nan will confirm, I'm a dunce, so I have to ask...what does the 10 in 23/10 mean?? I thought it meant 10 day.


And we should all take a vote: should Artie join his new thread now or later?

Hey kids, I have some news!

I'm leaving for England next Thursday Apr. 9 until the 15th! The RT fare was $455 total on Virgin Atlantic, non-stop, and everyone told me to jump on that fare. My kids are excited for me, and Mel is too, in his own peculiar way. I was feeling guilty about going alone, but really even with such a good fare, my kids said they'd rather wait until Christmas when we go with extended family and stay longer. And also hopefully have more money saved by then so Jesse can do his cool Liverpool shopping (he's John Lennon reincarnated)

I wonder if I can use my laptop there? I have to ask my brother if the electrical plugs are the same. I know he had his plasma TV shipped there, and it isn't compatable, so I'm hoping to come home with a new plasma TV!!!!! (If it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to get it packed up as checked luggage).

Anyway, I'm off to a dr.s appt, nothing serious, and then to my other brother's house...my nephew (Cory's older broth) came home from college today for spring break, and I can't wait to see him.

Then tomorrow I'm off for an overnight to upstate NY to see my niece and nephew in a school play. I'm taking Brian. I WISH I COULD GET OUT OF GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a long drive and I have so much to do to clean my house, do everyone's laundry, and get ready to go next week.

I hope I get to meet Kaz...

Artie, it's funny you mentioned that gold lame' suit. You snuck out of that on our cruise. I'd LOVE to see you and Rus dressed like that for adult karaoke night, maybe you can sing Macho Men!!!!

Hey everyone..

Just thought I would pop in and check on my fav gang!! Everything is so busy on this end.. working and getting caught up and hopefully ahead before Matthew decides to make his grand entrance. We got the twins room all done and the nursery all done, and we did still go on that 4 night trip to WDW for St. Patty's Day. It was a lot more laid back and relaxed than we are used to... but had a great time nonetheless. That Animal Kingdom Lodge is something else, huh? Loved the giraffs and the Zebras, and we even had bunnies!!!

Not sure the next cruise we will be able to go on.. We will have to see.. The Christmas one sounds like a blast though!!

OH the parks were packed when we were there.. I just dont think people are buying like they used to and have cut back on the spending. All the stores had discount/sale signs up.. and practically everything was on sale. Both of us were surprised.

Brian says hi!!! He is still waiting to make Chief.. He is hoping by this summer it will be official.

Rus, I can't believe how low Virgin's fares are. It costed us more to fly on Jetblue to Florida for the cruise!

Howdy all

back from WDW - it was getting crowded with the spring breakers

the weather was pretty good - it was warmer than I was ready for - kinda of hard getting used to high 80's when your temperatures at home were around 30 - 35

I knew Caribbean Beach resort was huge but not that huge - it seemed to take forever to get anywhere

Our pirate room was not bad - and it had been pretty much just finished, could smell the paint when we first walked in.

Parks were getting busy - but still manageable - but wait times were plain crazy - at Epcot on Friday - Test Track single rider line was anywhere from 25 45 min, stand by was 80 - 120 min.

Fast passes were running out early - I know Toy Story Mania on Sunday, they were gone by 10:30 a.m., Soaring on Fri gone by noonish

Used Magical Express both ways and no hitches there

Now have plenty of to do and getting back in the swing of things

Artie, OMG, the ritalin thing was hilarious! See, if you convert to Catholicism, you won't get bored, what with all the standing, kneeling, sitting, genuflecting and such that we do all through Mass!

Yeah, I had to laugh at myself for going to Costco...I'll be gone a week, and I'm acting like it's a month. I was even thinking of cooking a weeks worth of food for the 3 of them, but then I thought "whoa, girl!" They can live on fast food if they have to.

Pirate Room

The walls are a light yellow/creamy beige

carpet is brown - and looks like wood planking on a ship

the beds are just like ships - with head board and footboard - and man oh man heaven help you if you stub your toe on the bed - it hurts - the frame of the 'ship' goes clear to the floor.

The dresser is made to look like crates stacked - 4 of them - and the flat screen tv sits on top of that

the night stand between the 2 beds is a barrel with 1 drawer and opening at bottom for phone book

there also is a sea chest that is a 1 drawer dresser

the privacy screen has a huge skull and crossbones on it and it is brown

nice print picture of Captain Jack from ride - where Jack is sitting in the chair at the end of the ride

shower curtain has pirate stuff on it

and a 'carving of the Flying Dutchman is on the wall of the shower -

hope this helps - will post pictures - we only took about a 1000 pictures this trip
