Dec 27/08 NYE Western Cruise - Really New Thread

Hi, it's me, Aisling. My laptop is in the shop, and I just found my other one, but the battery is dead and I can't find the charger wire. :headache: Sooooo I'm on Chad's computer. This is his desk top PC, and I'm dying to use his laptop so I can take it to my room and relax with it, but he has it password-locked. Jesse's laptop has a virus, and Mel has his with him in the car. So while Chad's out, I'm sneaking!

Anyway, busy busy busy. Spring cleaning, tossing lots of junk, de-cluttering, and organizing. Tomorrow I'm taking Brian to his first Cavalier King Charles Spaniel meet, so there'll be a bunch of doggies just like him for him to play with.

How's everyone? I wish Madame Marla would do some more of her cruise trip report. Hey, is Marla in WDW? She's going sometime this month for her birthday.

Nothing new here with us. Just the same old thing, trying to plan some trips with little/no $$$. I went to visit some former patients of mine at the nursing home, and the admins asked me to come back. They said I can start anytime I want, the sooner the better, but I really had to decline. I'm thankful for the offer.

Speaking of my old job, Tig, remember Janice Lesterman? Well, she got fired over a "scandal". It seems she was caught in an empty resident room with another employee. Get it?;) And from what I hear, this isn't the first time, or the first employee! I'm not judging her, but the last place I'd even think about doing the naughty is a facility where people basically come to die. But she's a good, caring woman who I guess just has a monstrous libido and equally monstrous poor judgement. I wish her well.

Something funny...the other day I bought a red lipstick that's supposed to be so thin I wouldn't be able to feel it (:thumbsup2 ) and it also has staying power and wouldn't come off all day and still look great, so no need to reapply(:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 ). Well, they weren't kidding! I can't get the freaking stuff off. There're no instructions on the package for removal, so I tried everything from plain water, alcohol, even diluted bleach. I guess the sandpaper is next.

Have a good weekend my friends! Luv you all!

Hey Aisling! Cross your fingers for me, I may be up your way the week of the 23rd for a couple days! It is not in stone yet, I should know in the next day or two for sure~

Its a sur-prize!

I am waiting for someone at Regis and Kelly to get back to me before I know for sure. :)

So Brenda, tell the truth, does Nan really scrap??
She does - but better than that - we just have a great time at these wkend events...

Come on, it's Obama not Clinton.
OMG!!! you are right Artie....
i truly think our new President is definitely a faithful husband!!!!!

Aisling - how i miss you!!! no worries - we won't tell Chad you're sneaking on his computer! :-)
that red lipstick you have is "dye" based....it will fade away eventually....
need red lipstick - let me know i'll send you a nice Mary Kay shade....

Marla - i know you're leaving for WDW in aweek or so...nice time to go - should beat 'most' of the Easter crowds....

Jen has started to look for dresses - so we've been once and have another appt next friday....she's so tiny she looks good in everything...

Ryan is down to two choices for school...told him to narrow his acceptances down to two, so we could compare etc. We'll be going to visit one of them on 4/04 - it's the private school over in Stockton...his 2nd choice ended up being San Francisco State Univ. Nice that he chose one private & 1 public - gives us a good comparison of what each will offer...he has till 5/01 to formally accept from one of the 5....he did not get into Cal Poly (san luis obispo) the one he REALLY wanted...but i'm not surprised..it is SOOOOO impacted - they had over 45,000 applicants for 4300 openings...

Kelly - how are YOU?????

hope all is well with everyone - im glad i can keep up with most of you on facebook....seems like i don't get here often enough...but my coworker comes back from her maternity leave next monday, so things should be a little less crazy....

oh btw - Jennifer decided it was time she take a Disney cruise, so we decided to hop on the cruise with Rus & Chel - so Colleen was able to transfer our ressies to the 10/23/10...so far it's the 2 of us, possibly her husband...or my sister....

Brenda, you sound as lively and wonderful as always! I'm sorry about Ry not getting his first choice school, but the other choices are great, too!:thumbsup2 Let us know what he decides on.
And GREAT news about the cruise, you lucky girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So how does it feel to be mother-of-the-bride? That's something I'll never experience, but if/when Lou and Chad marry, Louise is so good to me (as is her mom) that I know they'll include me in the planning and dress shopping.:goodvibes

I know this may sound corny and religious, but I'd like to share a miracle with you all.
The other day I made some big purchases and used my debit card which withdraws from my checking account. Well, yesterday I went online to pay some bills and I saw that my checking sum was down to only a few hundred dollars! I guess I didn't realize how much I debited, denial is more like it. Anyway, I was praying all day for God to hurry along our tax refund so I wouldn't have to rob peter to pay paul. I knew the chances were slim, because although we always file right away in January, we don't get the checks until April. Well, I just got the mail, and one of the checks was there! Thank you, God! I just deposited it, and all is better than well. But here's the real miracle: I got to thinking, analyzing myself, would I still thank and praise God if I didn't get the check so fast? Would I be mad at Him for not helping me? All of a sudden, these words came to my mind and heart----"They that wait upon the Lord shall have their strength renewed." I know it was God speaking to me, telling me that even if I had to wait, He was still helping me, giving me strength to deal with whatever issues trouble me.
Wow. So even if the check didn't come today, I know God was working me into a strong person that He wants me to be, trusting in Him even when times are tough. I hope my experience will inspire you all, if you're inclined to believe in that kind of thing.:)

Ok, I'll stop preaching for now!:rotfl:

Jesse and a bunch of kids from school were able to get an excused absence for the day to go to the big St. Patrick's Day parade. I heard there were going to be 2 million people along the route, so I guess I won't be seeing him in the crowd on TV.:scared1:

I hope Kelly checks in soon. Kelly, we miss you!

Have a wonderful day, my friends. I'm in the car, and I have to get home before Brian pees in the car!

Hey there

leaving next Friday afternoon - picking up Kara from school and zipping to the airport

Hey Brenda - I heard that she freaked you out the other night with her picture of her orange hair

To tell the truth, I freaked out when she walked in the door that day :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Forgot to mention

Kara's band group scored a 1 - highest ranking - at the Ohio Music Education Association state competion last Friday night

Sat she took her SAT's

Sunday - she passed the 1st step in life guarding class - and is now registered for the next level of classes - these start mid April

Got my new driver licence yesterday - picture is the worst I ever have had taken and picked up the study guide for Kara to start

Class is good, I did my first video last weekend -
its in editing now, within the next two weeks I will be able to edit my own~

I havent heard from regis and kelly yet :(

Or just not crazy enough...if it were the same length as it was two years ago Ida been a shoe in. Rachel Ray is running a similar campaign, Im gonna send a photo in to her later today :)

Hopefully the video I took of my Broinlaw cooking is ready to submit by monday...I asked a kid in my class to work on it since I wont be officially taught editing til next week~

Remember Kara's mice project

they have had a couple of 'set backs'

one female died last week during labor/childbirth - none of the babies survived

then another female surprised us with 14 little ones 2 nights ago

the new momma isn't that 'motherly' but the grandma is taking good care of them

momma keeps running away from them when they start their squeaking and whatever noises they are making

sigh

Aw, the poor mice! I can't stand them, but just the idea that the mama and babies died during birth makes me sad.:sad1:

Yesterday was Louise's 25th birthday and tonight her family is having a big house party for her. I didn't go, just such a busy day, but I may go by a little later just to say hello to everyone. It's an open-door party and people will be coming and going until late tonight, so I won't feel awkward showing up at midnight.

I finally bought a beautiful glass curio cabinet for my Barbie doll collection and it looks so pretty. I've had them wrapped and boxed for fear of dust, but now I have them displayed in my bedroom. I'm so happy about it.

It snowed for a while this morning, snowflakes so huge I couldn't believe it, but it didn't stick. Crazy first day of spring.

Well, that's the news from my neck of the woods.

I wish you all enjoy the weekend!

Kara was a little sad, but said that is the facts of life

Kara has been really trying not to check up on the babies, with the nervous Nellie momma, she is just adding food/water as quietly as possible - but she did break down and took a peak - all are thriving as far as she can tell, their tails are appearing, their eyes are still closed and you can see spots and colors starting on their skin

They are reall vocal though

The males in the cage next to the females are going bonkers - not sure if they can smell the babies or one of the females is in heat - they are sure wild acting this week

Spending the weekend getting ready to leave - not packing much since we will have to pay for each bag - darn airlines - so trying to get by with just 2 checked and a carryon each

Oh ya - I am cruising again - I am joining a friend on the 4 night pod cast cruise in early May - someone here has her nose out of joint but she can't miss any school that close to graduation

Hope everyone has a great weekend

:)
