Dec 27/08 NYE Western Cruise - Really New Thread

With a lot of us feeling sick, I thought this was kind of cute.

bay area, what part, oh I live in San Jose, bought the house from my parents in a neighborhood that was filed with crazy Italians....

sure we can laugh now we're off the boat

I've been day dreaming what it will be like with no kids, no mom, no husband, okay I'll miss the husband...when will they tell us about 2011????

i don't know when...but i hope it's soon...need something to plan and consume my every moment.....

Artie....love the cartoon; so far Ryan & I have escaped the virus.....we're both fine....
altho he may be heartsick as he & Julia are 'taking a break'....not his idea, but what can he do...and maybe it will be good for her to be on her own for awhile with her illness...i don't know...i just hope she recovers soon and can lead a normal life!

I feel bad for Ryan, that is a yucky feeling for sure. I sure everything will work out.

I can't help but think how much fun a single good looking young guy like Ryan could have had on the cruise had he known earlier. ;)

well i think he'll hang in there for awhile & wait for her to get better....he really loves that girl~

I'm all caught up again...

sorry so many of you came home sick, if it makes ya feel any better -
I have a cold and cough too

Thank you so much for checking Kelly! Someday I'll learn to just buy stuff when I see it

Aisling, I have no idea whatcha got but Yay! I'm getting a package

Nan, are you sailing the inagural alone?

If that's the case, I should take John on the TA and do the inagural with just the ladies...

Brenda, Aisling, you and me could share a room ???

Brenda, Ryan should make the most of his time. With college, graduation and everything else he's got going on - it'll be good for him if he takes the time to find himself again. She'll always be there for him as he will be for her.

As I sit here watching it snow, I am wondering where the pool boy is with my drink of the day

:rotfl2:

Hey everyone!!! Sorry for not getting on sooner but I've been laid up for a couple of days. Believe it or not I don't have a cold/flu, etc. but I actually had withdrawal issues/symptoms from the motion sickness patch. 24 hours after I stopped using it I got light headed and was vomiting - felt like I had motion sickness or *gasp* was pregnant again. I got back to work today and the motion sickness is starting to settle down. Sorry to hear about the rest of you getting sick - I hope you feel better soon.

Artie/Aisling - will work on the photopass stuff this evening. Will then pm you the id and passcode for you guys to start messing with your pictures.

Sad news for us - after we got back we decided to cancel our Med cruise for 2010....:( Shannon didn't want to spend the money the next year or so for something where the kids would be so young and not be able to enjoy many of the ports. So we decided to cancel and will be looking at either going to Disneyland (I may be seeing my new Bay Area friends) or Disneyworld in the next 12 months. Darn Disney - they have us hooked.

I really had a great time with all of you!!! This was the best group ever!!

Hi Kids,

Wow so many of you not feeling well...we're all fine, and I'm sending well-wishes out to you all.

Robin, so sorry I embarrassed you in front of your kids!

Brenda, I can't wait to see the dive photos. How did you like Rose & Crown? It's one of my fav restaurants.:thumbsup2

Today Brian had his rabies shot, and suffered a bad reaction with his face swelling something awful. I rushed him back to the vet, and they gave him benadryl and a steroid shot...he'll be fine in a few hours. Anjelica, on the way home from the vet, Chad and I saw Tony Sirico (Paulie Walnuts) from The Sopranos going into a Jewish deli, and we thought of you!!

Congratulations to Ryan on his St. Mary's acceptance. But sad to hear he's having a bit of heartache.

I'm going to read some trip reports and check back later:)

Question for those that experienced Palo Dinner - did anyone notice a wayyyy lack of enforcement of dress code at Palo Dinner's this past time? Was just curious if anyone thought the same but the night I went to dinner I noticed how nicely our groups were (and several others) but then how dressed down many others were - I saw one gentemen wearing croc sandals (dark color if that helps...:)

No need to apologize, I like my name, but they thought it was pretty hilarious!! They are still laughing about it:cool1: Guess it just made me all the more shy to go and introduce myself to people. I did recognize most of you all from the pictures that have been posted here, so in my head, I still know you and had fun with you all!!

Robin, you're lucky the cruise is over...I was going to plan an intervention to kidnap you from your family for a night of kaorake with us!:rotfl:

That's too bad -- a previous dog of mine (a beagle) had this problem and after it happened once we always had to wait at the vet for an hour of so after any shot to be sure he wasn't going to react . . . as long as they give the antihistamine and the steroid right away, it will always be fine, though.

I think I might have enjoyed that - in college I was pretty well known for having a good time:drinking1 I think having kids settled me down way too much!!

sorry you got a bug no fun :sad2:

I've got a dummy booked because I'm a control freak, but Brenda, Chel and I are talking about goign together. We need to see the dates to decide if it works for us. I wish we knew when it would be I'm not good about waiting:mad:

ok that might have been me and Paul. Well Paul anyways, I told him no shirt and tie that night, we wore our matching mickey's. He did of course wear real shoes no flip flops. I think we in CA come from a more laid back place in our clothes. If he wore a tie that night I'd feel like I needed to wear a more dressey dress and I just wasn't feeling it to eat dinner. shorts to formal that's my idea of clothes :rolleyes1

Glad you are healthy, if you read any TR from our trip please post linkie :flower3:

Sorry about baby Brian, is he better now? Our dog has been all over us for affection. I'm sure it will die down in a week when she figures we are home, she is funny like that. Mood swinging dog.

Congrats for St., Mary's for sure and good luck on the financial side of it. I dread those days coming for us.

I'm sorry for Ryan that Julia is letting him slip by, he is a great catch and more over a great person all around. When it is right it will be there for him. If she is the one then the time will work that out. So hard to hear that when one feels so in love, but hopefully his older parents and friends can help him understand that sometimes time is a good thing to help figure out if a relationship is really right or not. And for Julia, I hope she can work on her issues, maybe being solo is what she needs to get in control and keep in control.

Off to start my drug regime, I think I might loose weight from it since I'll not be hungry for anything after all the water from the pills :rotfl2:

Nope - definetly wasn't you guys. I saw you guys in more laid back clothing and it was still ten times better than a few of the outfits I saw.

The night we had dinner in Palo there was a large group seated near us, there was a couple of guys who couldn't be called "Cruise Casual", and I wore a suit.

Louise and I dined there on New Years Day and I remember making a point of it that a few guys were wearing polo shirts. No shirt no tie no jacket. Its a bit disappointing, but whattaya gona do?

morning all

cold here

Last night picked up the mice that Kara's science group will be using - and they were all delivered safe and sound to school this morning - that classroom is turning into quick a little zoo - mice, snails, oysters, coral, fish, etc etc etc

Kara decided to 'unpack' - she opened suitcases and just dumped in a pile in living room - ugh -
