Dec 2013 discounts???

if the discounts follow the pattern of the last few years there will be a discount the Saturday after Thanksgiving until the next Thurs or Friday I think so if you can sneak in right before PW hopefully there will be a discount

I think you're right, from everything I see. The stay/play/dine out for jan-early march says "most nights", but between thanksgiving, pop Warner and Christmas, I'm betting the end of the year offer will have a lot more blackout dates. My hope is that my husband can fly down (or me, for that matter!) and check in Thursday, with the rest of us to follow Friday night. We'll be taking kids out of school and to maximize their allotted 5 days, we use the weekends on either end of vacation week. (Don't start on me, people, about taking kids out of school. They're straight A students and I'm sure there is a whole other thread dedicated to that! :) ) We hope to go with several families and some of them need time to plan, some need to put in for specific vacation weeks and that's why I'm trying to figure this out so early! I guess if we HAVE to, we could go midweek to midweek, but I'd lose a few days in the parks.

Wait, what? Free Dining has been released for DEC. 2013?
When was that? How did I miss this? I don't see anything on the web site?
Can someone please give me the info. I am going through withdrawals with no trip this year and will be booking a split stay for Dec. 2013.

Thank you very much in advance!

Maureen
P.S. if I sound panicky, yes I'm am LOL!!!! :rotfl:

Maureen- its way to early in the year for us to hear of any discounts. I am not counting on hearing anything until the summer

It doesn't say that in this thread. Some people are talking about 2012 free dining and someone mentioned a 2013 AAA discount.

vicki_c,

Thank you for talking me off a ledge. This what happens when "dis-ing" while trying to get 3 kids off to school and obsessing about a Dec. 2013 trip all at the same time. :upsidedow

Thank you so much!

Nuts...I think the travel sites that posted 1-8 are wrong. I'm not worried about park crowds or hotels...they don't affect parks much and we don't stay at all stars, but I'm worried we'll have trouble getting a good deal.

Sarah-- You may be seeing for 2012.

Which when I started seeing it I was super excited since it was not conflicting with my dates-- until one of my family members showed me its for this year.

So from what I've read on the disboards, between Disney's record profits last year to the unveiling of the Fantasyland expansion this year, a lot of people seem to think free dining may be a thing of the past except maybe during hurricane season. If this is true, the stay/play/dine deal is pretty good. It's not free dining, but it's good. My question is...will it work like free dining, where so long as you check in during valid dates, you'll have the package the whole time...or will the discount only be valid for certain days? Free dining was offered a few days here and there for this December...none even a whole week long. The one thing I can't stomach is rack rate! What's everyone else think?

FWIW, I just booked Dec 2013 AAA rate a day or two back for BC. Don't know if you have AAA, or if would apply to POR, but sometimes the room discount is worth getting the card...or maybe a better discount will come for you..

I sure wish you much luck!! :goodvibes

Isn't the AAA discount only like 10%?

I have a rack rate booked now for CSR for Dec 8th thru the 15th (2013) looking for discounts.

IF you have to check in at a certain time to get the discount-- I would weigh in my dollars to see if it warrants going in a few days early.

I see free dining is offered for 3 days in dec 12/10 thru 12/13
so I would guess if I am checking in on the 13th I would get the dining for the entire stay.

Seems to vary, probably on a lot of things like resorts, time of year, how many rooms alloted for the dsicount....I'm just guessing. Think the biggest AAA discount I've been able to get in the last couple years has been 20%, but others may have been able to get more...

My AAA discount for this booking was 15% and was HAPPY to get it, because even though it's a LONG time away, sometimes discounts don't last long for particular resorts.

As I said, it's often certainly is worth getting the card for the discount, however small it is, and if you're like me you keep your eyes open for any better discounts as they come out.

Has anyone seen a PIN code for next December yet? I saw that someone got one for September.

Don't think so...several people said they've gotten a pin code for various nights until 9/28/13. June and July totally blocked out. Pin is for up to 35% off. I'm more interested in free dining.

I'm more interested in free dining.

Same here. I don't think it will be released until Julyish 2013 but I'm dying for it to come out! I know a lot of people hate free dining but it really is the biggest money saver for my fiance and I, and I don't think he would want to go without it.

I'm a planner! I could wait before, when I knew free dining would be coming. But now it's not a sure thing...and I can't rely on getting a pin! It's going to be a long year...

I am graduating from nursing school that month and REALLY want a disney trip as a graduation gift from my DH !!! I really hope something comes up!!!

We currently have a trip planned for Dec 2013 at ASM. It's two adults and one junior and one child. We are hoping and praying for some sort of discount to come out. It's our first trip as a family to Disney and my hubby and I got a sticker shock even though I had priced several packages. Right now our package is priced at approx $2600.00. Is this high or about right?

How many days? Standard or preferred view? Hopper tickets? Meal plan? Last year we went for 8 nights at Pop with 7 day of basic tickets and the free meal plan. Total was just over $2000. We were one junior and three adults. Next year we're four adults (kids will be 11 and 14). We need a good discount!

All Star movies 4 nites preferred room
2 adults, 1 junior, 1 child
5 day park hopper pass
plus dining- one table service, one quick service, one snack per nite per person

$2621.15

Am hopping to get some sort of free dining or discount to drop it down some. I'd really like to only have to save about $3000 for everything. We are driving down from Kentucky and driving back too.

I was planning a mommy-and-me May trip with DD, but it's looking like that won't be possible, so I'm starting to think about December 2013...I'll be graduating with my Bachelor's that month, and will have money saved up from my summer internship. Made a deal with DH that if I hold out until next year, I can let the tight budget go and plan the trip I *really* want to take!

Soooo, after pricing out that "dream" trip, I am definitely hoping for some good discounts! Dreams be expensive!
