Pop Warner will be going on that time so not really sure what type of discounts if any you will see. This year there's a room only during that time so maybe it'll be the same for next year

FWIW, I just booked Dec 2013 AAA rate a day or two back for BC. Don't know if you have AAA, or if would apply to POR, but sometimes the room discount is worth getting the card...or maybe a better discount will come for you..

subscribing to watch for discounts.

will it cost money to change dates closer to your vacation?

People are posting that Pop Warner will be the second week in Dec.
(posting it was like that in 2002- but when you google 2002 it says their championship was Dec 8th. (do the stay after the championship game?

Not so. I am checking in 11/29 and out 12/6 and I have free dining. You can manage it as long as your check-in date is with in the promo. Only check-in date has to be with in the FD promo and you get the deal for your entire stay.

it starts the first Saturday in Dec so next year it will start Dec 7th and goes thru the 14th I think. Their room block dates are Dec 5-15. It's been confirmed

For what it's worth, just wanted to let everyone know that I was able to call and get a AAA room-only discount at Beach Club for Dec 2013. I know it's early, but the fact is I was paranoid that I may have waited too late!

So if this is old news, please feel free to delete this post, or if there is an existing post that's appropriate to combine it with please do.

Anyway, I got really jazzed to get it in and get it done because I realize how fleeting discounts can be, yet they are so important. At least to us.

it's not Dec 1-8 for 2013. The activities start Dec 7 which is the first Saturday in December.

Nuts...I think the travel sites that posted 1-8 are wrong. I'm not worried about park crowds or hotels...they don't affect parks much and we don't stay at all stars, but I'm worried we'll have trouble getting a good deal.

It doesn't say that in this thread. Some people are talking about 2012 free dining and someone mentioned a 2013 AAA discount.

if the discounts follow the pattern of the last few years there will be a discount the Saturday after Thanksgiving until the next Thurs or Friday I think so if you can sneak in right before PW hopefully there will be a discount
