Dec 2011 Dining Review- "I'm Pregnant with a FOOD Baby!"- Complete 6/21

That Napoleon looked beautifully delicious! I am so going to try one!:goodvibes Churros are our "must do" everytime!

Great reviews! Thanks for posting the CS menu at Katsura; I think that's a must-do for our Nov trip :)

And I love your title! Last August we had the DxDP and I ate so much, I thought I had an actual baby brewing! I even called a local drugstore to have them deliver a pregnancy test, thinking I may be pregnant. Nope, just a food baby :rotfl:

For some reason I was most excited about this restaurant out of all the other restaurants that I had booked this week! The food just looked soo good especially the salad, the rolls and butter, and the dessert!

Unfortunately, I was just not hungry enough for this meal. I should not have had snacks and lunch so close to this.

Garden Grill is a character meal that is all you can eat. It isn't a buffet but they bring the food to you.

Here is Mickey and Me. His outfit was soo cute!

Now food time! They start you off with a garden salad tossed in a spicy ranch dressing, tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, bacon, and egg. This kind of salad was right up my alley but unfortunately it was kind of soggy. I didn't love it. It also wasn't very flavorful dressing even though it was supposed to be spicy dressing.

You then get rolls with a maple honey butter. The rolls weren't anything special but the butter was yummy! I thought it would be infused with the honey and maple but it was just kind of poured ontop of the butter.

Now the entree.

We asked for the cranberry orange relish on the side because Corey doesn't like that and I didn't think I would.
1804.jpg

There is a fish on top of rice with this tomato relish on top. YUCK!!! That was probabaly the worst thing I had all trip. I don't remember what the fish was but it was hard and chewy not flaky how fish should be. The relish on top was gross also, it was cold like salsa, i didn't like that.

The beef was pretty good, cooked a medium well. This was on top of a carrot/corn mixture. It was okay, the carrots were good.

Surprisingly, I actually really liked the orange/cranberry relish. It was good just by itself. Very fresh tasting.

The turkey was ok nothing special. The smashed potatoes were good, although a bit garlicy. To be honest I didn't care for really anything that much on the entree plates. I liked the beef and the cranberry orange relish the best.

Here is a refill. They only give you refills on what you want.

Dessert! Something else tha I was so excited for that disappointe me.

This is a strawberry apple rhubarb crisp?? To be honest I don't know what it was. They change it seasonally and I can't remember what fruit this was. It was topped with a freshly whipped vanilla bean cream. This is NOT ice cream. Everyone describes it as ice cream, but it isn't. It is basically just whipped cream. This was good by itself but I think I would prefer ice cream on my crisp. The filling of this crisp was not great either. I didn't love this.

What I did love was the mickey mousse!!! It is oreo mousse and it is sooo good. We just asked for a side of that.

We noted our anniversary celebration so she brought us a piece of cake and two anniversary buttons because we took ours off. Our waitress was really nice allthough a little eccentric.

All in all I was very disappointed in this restaurant. Maybe it was because I was just too full to enjoy anything or maybe it wasn't really that great. All I know is I won't be back anytime soon. The character interaction was great and they came around like 3 times. Maybe when I have kids someday. It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't great.

To top it off, Corey threw up this day in the middle of the night. He was fine after the incident but we don't know if it was from GG or the mexico CS nachos. We think it wasa the nachos. Or it could just be too much food. All I know is he won't eat the Mexican nachos anymore haha!

This is the last table service review but still one more counter service.

I am still trying to talk him into going to Disney in November with my best friend who has never been to Disney. We will see if we go, I really really want to go and introduce my friend to Disney!

Haha, did you really get a pregnancy test?? That is hilarious if you did!! I don't know if I could ever do the Deluxe plan. I think I would like to try but it would be a lot of food!!!

Now onto my last lunch of the trip. So sad, but I guess this is 6+ months old! Hopefully we are going back in November with my friend and boyfriend.

I wanted Wolfgang Puck Express for lunch and Corey and his parents wanted Earl of Sandwich, so they went there while I got WPE and I met them there.

I believe I ordered the Rotisserie Turkey Club

Rotisserie Turkey Club - Avocado, bacon, red onion, plum tomatoes, romaine, remoulade and chips $13

I must have subbed French Fries because I got french fries.

1872.jpg

Sorry for the over exposed pic.
1873.jpg

I didn't really care for the sandwich because it had way too much of that remoulade which was basically just like mayo. I don't care for a lot of mayo so I should have got that on the side or light. The french fries weren't good either- they were too crispy and nothing unique. I like my fries soggy! I would not get this meal again.

For dessert I ordered the Creme Brulee Cheesecake. This is vanilla bean cheesecake with a brulee top!
1874.jpg

Yum, this is so good!!! I love creme brulee and cheesecake so combining these were perfect. The cheesecake was so creamy and cold and the brulee topping was perfection. I would definitely get this again!

Back at the hotel I had my first ever Mickey bar.
1901.jpg

It was really thick chocolate with good ice cream but I wouldn't waste any snack credits on this! I much prefer the pineapple bar. It is still cute though. Anything in a mickey shape tastes better, haha!

Another treat in the airport.

Frozen yogurt topped with fresh raspberries and blueberries! We are obsesses with self service yogurt places with make your own toppings. This was really good because the fruit was so fresh. Too bad we were going to Minneapolis! So Long Disney World!

Here is what I have reserved for November:
Le Cellier
'Ohana
Via Napoli/Tutto can't decide
The Wave
Cinderella's Royal Table Breakfast
California Grill- still up in the air. I want to try my first signature but my boyfriend is pretty picky and doesn't like fancy stuff.

I really really hope we go! We got free dining too.

Well that is it! I hope you enjoyed. Sorry this took my 6 months!

Quick Overall Impressions:

I wouldn't go back to Garden Grill ever.

I still love 'Ohana and Le Cellier.

I still thought 1900 Park Fare was amazing.

Worst snack was the pretzel at Hollywood Studios.

I loved the cappucino cupcake at Pizza Planet.

Biggest surprise was Tony's- I really liked it!

My favorite dessert was the Pistachio Creme Brulee

My second favorite dessert was the Chocolate Mousse.

Biergarten is solid- maybe a once every other or every third time restaurant.

I need to schedule more World Showcase drinking time..haha! I missed the Grey Goose Slushie and La Cava margs!

I really wanted to try the Jalapeno Cream Cheese pretzel but didn't. Next time!

Columbia Harbor House may be my new favorite MK counter service. I love that salmon.

I loved the sugar free mango gelato from Cosmic Rays- it tasted like pureed mangos!

Cape May didn't impress me that much this year. I only like the crab legs and oreo bon bons and the Cape May salad.

Thanks for reading!:hippie:

After this I had a little alcoholic beverage in Italy- the Rosa Regale! This is a sweet red sparkling wine, and it is soo good and refreshing. I have had it twice since I have been home, I love it now.

1766.jpg

For my last snack credit I had the Napoleon at the Boulangerie Patisserie.

1780.jpg

This really was overdoing it. This thing is sickenly sweet but so good. I should not have gotten this 2 hours before dinner. I only had half of this. The cream is so good with the dough layers but I got this at the wrong time.

Mmmmmm...Rosa Regale and the Napoleon. Two of my favorite Epcot treats! I was especially happy to see the Napoleon in your reviews, as I didn't get to see the real thing on my last trip. Somehow I forgot to go to Boulangerie Patisserie. :sad1:

Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and food pics with us. Congrats on a job well-done!

I'm reading reviews backwards in time and just saw yours! We love the Rosa Regale. I ordered a bottle to be delivered to our room last year for DP's birthday. It was called "Minnie's Rosa Regale" when you order. So cute. :cutie:

That is cute!!! I love it too! It is pretty easy to find in liquor shops so I treat myself to it a couple times a year!

I hope you don't mind. I just had to share this now. We saved our bottle and brought it home with us and enjoyed it at home.
