Dec 2009- anyone else

We just booked our stay at the Swan Dec. 12 - 19 earlier this week. My sisters decided to join us with our nephews. This will be the first time I've gone with my nephews so I can't wait to see it through their eyes!!! It broke my heart that I couldn't go with them the first time they went.

Okay, for all of you that have traveled to Disney near Christmas, how bad is bad. Every time I tell someone that we are going to Disney from Dec. 19 - 25, they tell me how awful the crowds are going to be. So, I am coming to the EXPERTS on the DIS. Give it to me straight. Is this trip going to ruin Disney for me.

Ok I haven't been to DW during Christmas for 15 years but we'll be there same week as you for our Anniversary. Between the "experts" here and a little help from one of our sponsors (TGM), I am confident that we can do Disney during Christmas and live to tell about it. :rotfl: I'm just going to expect crowds and "zig when they zag." Just a quote from a very experienced tour guide. :goodvibes

We are leaving Indiana the evening of Saturday 11/28 will arrive on Sunday 11/29 staying through 12/05.

My Junior year high school we were @ Magic Kingdom on 12/22 & Epcot on12/23...to be honest I don't think the crowds were any worse then our trip in 07' which was right around Memorial Day. HTH

We will be there from Nov 27th to Dec 6th, already have a cabin booked at Ft. Wilderness. Just got back from a quick 4 night trip Sunday. Will be going back for some 1 day gorilla style trips this summer since we are now AP holders and only live 2 and 1/2 hours away. But I can't wait until our longer trip in Dec. where we can take our time and also to see everything pimped out in Holiday lights. Also this will be our first MVMCP.

It will be our third year in a row for xmas with the mouse....Dec.24,2009 - Jan.2,2010 I think we started a new family tradition and we don't care what the rest of the family thinks......:rotfl:

We were going to go to Disney for Christmas of 2010 but when the 40% off code came via email in Jan, we decided to go this Christmas instead. It will be our 2nd DS's 5th birthday when we're there. Dec. 12th we are staying at POR and then the 13-19 club level at the Polynesian.

We're keeping it a secret from the kids. We've told them we are still planning to go in 2010 but we aren't going to tell them that we are going this Christmas until sometime between Halloween and Dec. 1st. I'm horrible at secrets, so we'll see if I can keep this one. :rotfl:

This is the first time any of us has stayed on property. DH went to Disney World and Disneyland as a kid. My parents could never afford to take my brothers and I, so I had never been. DH and I visited Epcot, the Boardwalk, and DTD for a day eight years ago on a Florida vacation. We've wanted to take our kids to Disney ever since. We are all soooo excited! :yay::yay:

I'm booked for Dec 1st to the 6th!!! Going solo and staying at the AKV-Jambo House. I'm planning on going to MVMCP on 12/3:woohoo:

Just booked our weekend trip to the World! I'm SO excited that I get to see Disney in Holiday dress. We'll be going Dec. 4-6 and staying at All Star Movies. I requested the Love Bug section so we can be around the car stuff since we're a Nascar family. :cool1:

What's even more exciting is that this will be our 2nd trip this year! We just got back a couple weeks ago & so want to go back! We wanted to shoot for Free Dining, but with my husband in school, those dates didn't work for us. :confused3 There's *hopefully* next year!! :wizard:

We stayed in that section in Dec 06. Cute photo opps with Herbie and "Winner's Circle". Just in case you didn't know though, that section is in the back of the resort. No big deal for us, but I know some don't like to be in the back.

I'll be there!!!! We are going Dec 13 through 20 and staying in POR for 4 nights and then doing the 3-day cruise on the DCL Wonder!!! Yay!!!

I think I replied to this thread a while ago but we had a little change in plans... We bought into DVC at BLT so our stay December 5th through the 12th will be there with a MK view studio!!!

We were actually in the back when we stayed at the Sports Resort in the Hoops section. Even though we were quite a walk to the main building, we were right near the parking lot! :thumbsup2 After looking at a map, it kind of looks like the same situation. What was wonderful to, is we were on the back side of the hotel and face the woods. Made it nice & quiet!!:wizard:

We are planning a trip for Dec. 4-8 (tentative dates) to celebrate DH's 27th birthday. This will also be the first trip for our kids. I have only been to the World once (back in '02) and DH has only ever been to Epcot, so we are super excited! I haven't booked yet, though, and I have a question that maybe someone here can answer for me - if, after I book, I get a code or they decide to offer a FD or 4/3 special, will I be able to change my ressie to take advantage of it? Or am I locked in at the price I book at? TIA!

From my understanding, if you call with a discount code, Disney will apply it to your existing reservation. If it's been paid for, I've heard they'll even issue a refund of the difference.

That is the best news I've had all week! Thanks so much for replying! :)
