Dec 2007 A mouse Odyssey/lotsa pics

Once we were back in the park we went into a few shops, their postcard choices stink. So I picked out one that looked most exciting. We had no idea what to do next, we got in line to ride the skylift, this is a nice relaxing ride, but it doesn't really take you anywhere, just out and back, it would be better if it at least took you around the parkm but all you do is go over the cement pond and under the great bear, I took a picture just as went over head, then I realized I had left the lens cap on. Duh!

I did get this picture though. After that we rode the monorail, that was pretty cool, in all my years of going to Hershey that was the first time I had done that.
We walked over to the boardwalk to see if we could find the girls, the waterpark wasn't too crowded which surprised me. We didn't find the girls so we got inline to ride the pirate ship, I normally skip rides like this they bore. When we got off the ride I ran into Reese, literally, I didn't see her but she saw me and thought it would be funny to bump into me and tell me to watch where I was going. We talked for a second, she hit me up for some more money and then she was off again.
Crystal and I went and got in line for the Reeses extreme game, it's supposed to be like buzz light year, you ride through the dark and shoot things. The ride was like 10 seconds long and very lame, it should be called Reeses extreme lame game.
We went into a few more shops, then just got an "ICE COLD LEMONADE" and sat down to do some people watching. Crystal said she is a people watcher, to me watching people also consists of making up conversations they are having, or commenting on their choice of clothing that day, Crystal is a silent watcher, so the sport of people watching was boring for me that day.
I discovered aI had a blister in between my toes, it didn't hurt though:confused3
I am bored with this trip report, it's not like it's aboutdisney so I am going to finish it up quick.
We met up with the girls, got in the truck and went home.

Thank you for reading this TR, even though it was not disney.

Well even though it was not Disney :confused3 it was fun. I love love love roller coasters. If the rumors are true of the supposed 5th Disney park being full of thrill rides I will be so happy! You are a brave woman for riding that ride. I love those rides, one of the only reasons I like visiting that other park in Orlando. :rolleyes1

Sounds like you had a great day!! They have one of those coasters at Cedar Point, the Dragster. Ain't no way in you know where I am riding that thing!!

:worship: You are the WOMAN!!

So, is the whole park kind of cheesy?? Or are you comparing it to Disney? Not that we would probably go there or anything. I kind of want to though.

You can come people watch with me. I LOVE making fun of other people. Fred hates it and gives me the "look". The one I really hate is when women wear the belly shirts, when they absolutely shouldn't!!:lmao: Kills me!

So, did you get fresh chocolate, hot off the press? MMMMMMMMMM!

LurrrvtheDuck I heard too that disney was going to open a 5th park, all thrill rides. I would love that, then there would never be a reason to have to go to any other parks!

Lifelong Dreamer That is the best one there in my opinion. It's the inverted one.

ILMICKEY The dragster is twice as big as Storm Runner, it was broken the day I went (phew) Hershey isn't a cheesey park at all, it's small but for a first timer there is so much to do. I have been so many times it's boring to me, I only went because of getting to know a new friend.
Didn't get any fresh chocolate, it's not really all that fresh unless you go to the actual factory, which I heard is closing down and reopening in Mexico.

SpaceMountain Dainan! where ya been hiding? So what did you think of Storm Runner? I just heard that Hershey Park is getting ready to build a new coaster called Farenhiet and it's got everything Storm Runner has plus more. Don't be a stranger dude!

Hey, I've been busy traveling (theme parks that is) and the Zoo, and what not. But now that school started, I have more time. (Does that make sence?) Anyway, I thought Storm Runner was great, until the ending where that stupid S-turn was! My photo trip report can be found here, and the video can be found here. I like your photo of the Great Bear. Last night we rode Talon (first time since 2005), and now I'm trying to compare them. Great Bear is more intense, but Talon feels like you're flying!

Looks like a fun trip and I am glad that you and your new friend got along so well!

I know what you mean about it not being Disney though. My family took a day trip with my sister and her family last summer to the only amusement park in our state. It was soooo boring! I was pregnant, too, and they would not let me ride ANYTHING! Not even the merry go round! One of the ride operators even hit my five year old in the head with the gate door as she was opening it to let the kids get on the ride...then shrugged her shoulders. No apology! And while I was making sure my daughter was ok, she let all the people behind us onto the ride so we had to wait for the next cycle. Needless to say, by 2 pm in the afternoon we were ready to go home. Even the kids were ready to leave. I am so, so, so looking forward to showing my husband and daughters' DISNEY WORLD! My husband has only been to 2 amusement parks in his life. The one mentioned above and Silver Dollar City in Branson Missouri when we went on vacation about 3 1/2 years ago. SDC is fun, but it ain't Disney!!! :yay:

Didn't get any fresh chocolate, it's not really all that fresh unless you go to the actual factory, which I heard is closing down and reopening in Mexico.

:sad2: The same thing is happening to the Hershey factory up here in Canada. Our factory is in a cute little town called Smith Falls which is about 45 minutes from where I live. It is due to shut down by the end of 2008. It is so sad though because it is the big employer for that town so once it is gone the town will probably be economically ruined. Hopefully some other company comes in and saves the day by buying the plant.

I told her just for a post card for a Dis friend,
Thanks Ty!! I got it in the mail Saturday. It does look a bit smaller than the Dragster, but, ummm, still don't want to do it (insert chicken smiley here)!

Of course when I showed the boys, I got the speech about giving my address out over the internet.

I honestly couldn't come up with any reply. I have beat this into their heads since we got the internet and here is mom, breaking the rules!!

I'll have to print off the picure of you and Reese at Home Depot, I think they will see why I can trust you!!!

Hershey Park does sound fun. Maybe some day I will make it there.

SpaceMountain I like the Talon better than the Bear, the ride seems longer. But seriously the Raptor at Cedar Point is better than both of them. It's longer and more intense. Being a roller coaster enthusiast like you are Cedar Point would be heaven for you.
I went and checked out your photo trip report, very nice.

xoprincessmomxo It's so hard to go somewhere and not compare it to Disney. I hate when people say they would never go to Disney because they don't like amusement parks. Disney is not your typical amusement park, it is a whole different world. some people just don't get it. That's awful about your daughter getting hit in the head and then losing your place in line on top of it. That's another thing about amusement parks, they seem to not really care about their visitors. Your DH and girls will love Disney.

Lifelong Dreamer It's awful that people are losing their jobs by this, some people have worked there their whole lives, they were offered an early retirement package, but then there are the ones who didn't qualify for early retirement, they are just out of luck. I honestly don't know why they would want to take away something that has been there for over 100 years. I wonder if Chocolate World is going to change, they can't give the same information on the ride anymore, and it seems like Hershey Park won't really be all that special anymore.

ILMICKEY You are welcome. I promise I am not a hatchett murderer, but seriously if you print out that picture of Reese and I at home depot to show to your boys, I think that would only scare them and they might rest their case on that. I can hear them now, "You gave your address to that?" They will start packing, complaining the whole time that they have to move cause mom gave their address to a wierdo.

Ty, believe it or not, I've never been to Cedar Point. But I've been on 132 coasters (go figure). I think the most intense of the Inverts are the Batman the Ride clones...but I do like the really smooth and nice paced ones like Talon.

I hope you make it to Cedar Point some day. The roller coasters are awesome.
I'd say right now The Magnum XL 200 is still my all time favorite coaster, lots of bunny hops, those are my favorites.

I have to share the news because I am busting at the seams and I am not allowed to say anything until my parents are told. But My baby brother Matt and Lola are having a baby. She just found out a few days ago. I am excited, we are going to have a new baby in our family. Of course I am already planning the trip to Disney, I say 4 years old is a good time to go, my sister is saying 6 years. We haven't discussed this with Matt yet. He and Lola want a boy. I don't care what it is, just give me a baby to take to Disney.

AH! Congradulations to them. That is awesome! And of course you are allready planning on taking him or her to Disney. And you will take him/her for there first picture with Mickey...and you'll be in it for your first too :p !

-Dainan "El Toro is better by the way!" Rafferty

Congratulations Aunt Ty!!

Just think of all the shopping you will be able to do when you are down there. They have a bunch of Little Disney clothes and stuff. Better bring an extra suitcase!!

Yay! Congratulations. 4 years old sounds good. That's the age my daughter first started really getting into Disney movies and her princess obsession.

Thank you every one! Even more exciting news is matt and Loreal plan to move here after the baby is born. I'm not sure how long after, but it will be nice to have some of my family close by. I love Kents family, but to have my brother here would help so much when I get to feeling homesick for my family.

Now lets talk Disney. I have lost 30 punds since June, it has come off so slow that I couldn't really see it, but I have been getting positive comments from friends and family, so yesterday I went and tried on clothes that haven't fit in a couple of years and YAY! they fit now, so it's kind of like getting a new wardrobe and just in the nick of time for disney. Bad news is, my bathing suit and the Disney shirts I bought are too big now, I am going to try and take in the shirts.
Did you know you can lose weight in your feet too?
I have started packing some things, some shorts and capris, hopefully this heat spell will be over soon and I won't have to go and dig out the summer clothes I have packed already.
As the time gets nearer I am able to focus better on what needs to be done. And now that Red Lion Homecoming week is over I can chilax some. I think I held my breath the whole time. Next is Cougar homecoming, it's not as stressful, there is no parade, powder puff games or Bon fires. Reese graduates out of the rec program this year, tonight she will compete for Cheerleader of the year, and then we will find out if she won this Sunday at the game. There are some great cheerleaders on that squad, people are saying it's going to come down to Reese and another girl. They are both so deserving of it. (wow! way off topic) but to sum it up, Reese is going to the Raptors all star cheer squad this November, that's a whole new level of cheering, but she is so excited.

Ok back to disney. I am going with Theresa this Friday to AAA just to tie up some lose ends. We are 56 days away from our trip and everyone is excited now, not just me. Reese said she wants it to be the best vacation of her life, of course I would like the same. I get all twiterpated when I think about going to Disney, and then again when I realize it's going to be all decked out for Christmas. I try and imagine what it will be like, I don't think my imagination even comes close.
I am bringing my video camera this time. Coley and I have it worked out that when I am taping she will be taking pictures and then we will just make copies and switch. I will be taking pictures too of course, but this way I am covered in all ways. I can't believe I didn't bring my video camera last time. I am so glad I get a second chance to do this right. And then with my parents coming for Christmas, they will get to watch all 400 hours of video. :) and I will get to relive my vacation over and over, backwards and forwards and even in slow motion if I want.
I have purchased 2 12by12 albums for my trip this year, I got them at Michaels, they are strap hinge and have a frame on the cover. So I got one in Red and one in black. then I have the Disney 7by7 album for autographs. I was going to predecorate it and take it with me, but then I rethought that idea and I am just going to bring cardstock for the characters to sign and then put it in the album when I get home. I just don't want to lug it around the parks.
Work calls so I have to go. Talk at you all later!
