Dec 2007 A mouse Odyssey/lotsa pics

Not only is that poem cute, but it rhymes!! (I can never write poems b/c I can't rhyme anything!). You are a very good poet. And now you know it. :thumbsup2

LOVE the poem!!

I am still waiting for my crocs to arrive. It is weird, but I sort of, can't wait!!

Oh, oh, oh!! I have to tell you. I told my husband that I bought a pair on Ebay. I mentioned the not being seen with me thing. He said, "I hope you enjoy walking around Disney World alone".

??????????????????????????Alone?? You mean without you and the boys????

Aaaaaaaaalright baybee!!:cool1:

I am totally buying more. This is working in my favor. Whenever I want to be alone, I will wear crocs!!!

Of course, he was kidding. I think!

You will love your Crocs. For my trip in April I broke down and bought the Athens (flip flops) and Nile Crocs. They were absolutely wonderful. I bought my mom a pair too (the Hydro ones) and she wears them everywhere and loves them. When I got back from my trip she stole my flip flop Crocs and refuses to return them to me, she's claiming them as hers now. On our most recent trip there (just a mere 8 days ago....can I go back? :sad1: ) She wore her Crocs everyday and had not pain in her feet at all. No blisters on either of our parts either.

roxannensteve Thankyou. We all feel this way about Disney. I am glad we have a place to share it with others.

Avivasmom Welcome aboard, I am happy to have you here and glad that you are enjoying the Pre TR. If I tried to send DH to get me some LGMH's he'd come home with some ridiculous man appliance that we don't need!

AGPrincess Thankyou, I love to rhyme, I do it all the time.

ILMICKEY So the DH is still threatening you with solitude if you wear the crocs?! Mom's love solitude! I say work the crocs from every angle!
BTW, I am loving my crocs, I can't wait for you to get yours.

LurrrvtheDuck I want to get the flip flop ones, they are comfy on my heel, I don't like how they made me feel like I was leaning forward but I am sure I can get used to it.

You might have to go undercover on a mission to get your flip flops back! Let me know how it goes.

I called to make my Adr's about a week ago. I wanted to wait and work on my trip while the kids are at their Dad's in Mi. for the summer. I was hoping it woud make the days go faster. It helps a bit, but waiting till I was 175 days out made a huge difference. Alot of the times I wanted to book were already taken.

Day 1 is an Animal Kingdom day, we plan to use a CS at Flame Tree Barbque then head to DTD for Dinner at Planet Hollywood, this was an easy ressie to get, I got almost the time I wanted, I requested 6:00pm and got 6:15pm, I can handle that:thumbsup2

Day 2 Is Magic Kingdom, it is also Coleys birthday, she wanted a character meal, I thought about Crystal Palace, but neither Coach T or I am a huge fan of buffets, so I opted for Liberty Tree Tavern, I wanted 6:30 pm but all they had was 4:10pm, I took it, no problem, we will just use our CS later that night, It's Coley's choice, I have been in her ear about Columbia Harbour house:rolleyes1 so who knows.:confused3

We are also going to MVMCP that night!!!!!!!

Day 3 is MGM, Reese is most excited for this day, she asked if she cold plan this one, I said sure! We plan to use a CS at Toy Story Pizza Planet, I have heard mixed reviews but Reese really wants it, and I am happy when she is happy. She also wanted Sci-Fi for dinner, I loved the Sci-Fi and I am sure Coach and Coley will too, so I made ADR's for 5:30pm

Day 4 is an Epcot day. This was an easy decision to make . All 4 of us wanted to eat at Coral Reef. Reese and I really enjoyed it last time and Coach T saw pictures of it and said she would love that. Coley is up for anything but also expressed a big interest in "Then Aquarium Restaraunt" I wanted later Ressies but was only able to get 4:20pm, again that is a bit early but we will just hold off and use a CS at Summerfest in Germany later that night.

Day 5 Back to MK for my Birthday!:woohoo: I wanted a Princess dinner, but it takes 2 TS credits I thought it would be unfair to ask my fellow travelors to do this, I don't want to pay oop for it. I know I could have a princess dinner at Epcot, but I wanted to eat at MK on my B-day, I even considered taking the boat to WL after MK closes and having dinner at Whispericing Canyon Cafe, but I decided on Tony's Town Sq, I have heard nice things about it, I love Italian food, Coach T is Italian, and it just kinda fell into place. I wanted for around 6:00pm I got 5:45pm. Not bad. For our CS I have picked Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station.

Day 6 MGM day again, we might do a little park hopping this day, it will depend on how much we got accomplished at Epcot on day 4 I have made ADR's for 50's Prime Time Cafe, 4:55 pm I wanted 5:00pm and that's pretty darn close;) we might start out at epcot and then head to MGM or vice versa, it will all depend. If we missed Illuminations we will go to Epcot after our ADR, but if we have seen it but missed Fanatasmic, then we will start out at Epcot and finish at MGM, it's all up in the air right now, I will figure it out once the time is closer. I am not sure about a CS meal yet, I guess that will be played by ear.

Day 7 our last day, we havent made our plane ressies yet, we do that in Late July early August, so it's hard to plan for a day when you don't know how long you will be there. We are hoping to leave early evening and get in another park visit, but just incase I went ahead and made breakfast Ressies at Ohana's at the Polynesian for 8:00am. This is cool cause it's a character meal with Mickey included, so I am guaranteed to see the big guy, (although I do plan to wait in line at MK to see him and get my picture with him, it's a birthday present to myself. ) If we end up getting a later flight, I will still keep this ressie as it ensures that we will be up and out of the hotel early. Maybe we will do DTD again:confused3

As I was saying my thankyou's and goodbye's to the CM helping me make my ADR's I expected him to say "Have a magical day" that didn't happen, maybe they reserve that saying for when you are actually in the 'world' but he did say say, "Please, Ty, have a great day." He said please!!! so it must have been very important to him that my day be great. Thankyou Jeremy, I did have a great day! I made sure of it, I had a great day just for you. :yay:

I think we need to write Disney a letter. I didn't get the "have a magical day" or "disney day" or even "nice day". I did get a "thank you for calling"???

A little sumpn' sumpn' would have been nice!!

The please have a nice day was very thoughtful!!

Your ADR's sound great! I thought about the Sci Fi, but I swear there are a lot of restaurants for only 7 days!! Did you feel like you were short a couple days?? I had to go back to count, thought I missed something!

When you are doing your planning, make sure you set aside time to check out the other resorts. Like at the GF there is a lifesize Gingerbread house!! I saw it on TV.

Here is a copy of what I have saved:
Deluxe Resort Edible Holiday Displays
Among the especially amazing decorations are the edible holiday displays whipped up by pastry chefs throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Gingerbread goodies are sold nearby. In 2006, most of the displays opened on Thanksgiving weekend. Beach Club Resort usually has a fully detailed, life-sized gingerbread carousel in the lobby. The lobby of Yacht Club Resort offers a miniature New England-style train racing through a sugary rock mountain surrounded by a candy-coated model village. The lobby of BoardWalk Resort is home to Santa's Workshop as well as a customized BoardWalk train.A holiday toy shop made of sugar and chocolate, featuring Pinocchio himself, is the sweet spot for Disney's Contemporary Resort guests to purchase treats and toys on the 4th floor of the tower building.
The biggest edible production is a gingerbread house at Grand Floridian Resort that is large enough that it doubles as a real bake shop. Featuring gingerbread using a classic Austrian recipe, the bake shop offers freshly baked items such as cookies, ornaments and miniature gingerbread houses. Other homemade items for sale include Stollen Bread, chocolate peppermint bark, lollipops and special Grand Floridian logo boxes filled with truffles. Demonstrations of how to decorate a gingerbread house take place in front of the bake shop six days a week. In 2006 the Grand Floridian gingerbread house opened on November 13.
American Adventure at Epcot
Santa's Gingerbread Bake Shop at Liberty Inn at American Adventure enchants guests of all ages. Guests peer inside the life-sized gingerbread house at goodies galore. The giant structure, made entirely of gingerbread, cookies and icing, features more than 800 pounds of sugar and more than 1,000 eggs. Inside the bake shop, Christmas cookies and hot and cold beverages, as well as souvenir gingerbread recipe cards, may be purchased. Opens in late November.

We missed it when we were there last time. If you didn't know about it, they weren't telling you!!

ILMICKEY There were so many restaraunts I wanted to try and just don't have the funds to visit. Using the DDP does fill you up but it would be nice to have an extra TS on there.

I am trying new places, I am only repeating 3, but with my fellow travelors this is all new for them and I didn't want to say no to something just because I had already eaten there. I am actually rethinking my 50's Primetime ADR and maybe doing Mama Melrose's instead, but then I think Primetime sounds like it's alot of fun.

I do have plans to visit a few of the resorts to see their Christmas decorations. It's not a priority for any of us but is something we have thought about doing. I saw a show on the travel channel about different resorts having confectionary displays, it looked amazing so more than likely we will go see them.

Thanks for the report on the displays, I have printed it out and put it in my Disney planning book.

Have a Magical Day. :)

I have just read through your entire pre-trip report and what Reese has completed on her trip report so far. It is great to see a mother and daughter have so much fun together. Thank you to both of you for the great reads. I even called my husband at work and read your poem to him. We both loved it.

I have three pairs of crocs - black mickey crocs; khaki Beach Crocs with Tinkerbell, Dory, Mickey glove, and Mickey ears jibbitz; and chocolate Beach ones with Mickey, Minnie and Pluto on one shoe and Goofy, Donald and Daisy on the other. I do wear them with socks around home. At Disney I use the anklet socks. I love them for my feet but sometimes find that my legs get more tired with them than with my Easy Spirit sneakers.

I can't wait for the next update. I'll read your report from your last trip this weekend. Thank you again for the great entertainment!

I loved reading your TR and I am loving this one! Can't wait to read more. Your so much fun!

I did it, I did what I said I would never do... I spoke Hollerin! Yup hollerins end their sentences with aint. It's a question statement. Like "That's good ice cream, aint?" I have lived here 12 years and swore I would not speak hollerin, but occasionally I have shouted down the stairs to my DH to "outen the lights" then I cringe. I have never said "get red up, company's comin." But I do "sip my soda awhile" when waiting for my food to be served. Nobody around here changes a baby's diaper, they "dry" the baby. And I am sure if I had a horse I would eventualy yell "Throw the horse over the fence some hay." Oh wow, I got major off topic, aint? <-- that was just me being lame there, I knew what I was saying, really.

i thought it was aint it like run together so it was like aintit or maybe it is just my cousins and papa and grandmother

ILMICKEY you are welcome! and I meant every word of it too.

dvcmbr94 Thanks for reading. I can't help but have fun when Reese is around. She's a riot. My DS james is too, but he prefers to stay away from us when we are on a Disney mission.

I am thinking on ordering some jibbitz for my crocs, I might as well jump in all the way right? How does walking in crocs tire your legs out faster? Are they hard to keep on? I haven't gone for a major walk in mine, just around home here. I have been wearing them with ankle socks, for some reason they feel like the bottom of my feet are burning if I don't, does that happen to you as well?

Navywife508 Thank you for reading, I am happy to entertain. :)

nope! it's plain aint! I don't know if we're too lazy to add the "it" but we have always just said "That's good ice cream, aint?" and if people agree the ice cream is good they answer with. "Anyway!" I don't know how that plays out as agreeing, but it's always been done since I have lived here.:confused3

I love your Home Depot escapades. Those disguises were fool-proof! You gals are going to have so much fun on your trip!

You should definitely get some jibbitz. They make the shoes yours!! I'm not sure why my legs feel tired from the crocs. They only feel like that if I wear them for a full day and I'm on my feet most of that time, but even then not always. Some days no problems at all so hopefully you'll be fine.
I found my feet would get sweaty if I didn't wear socks. Enjoy!

Hi SwansLovedisney Thanks for reading. THose disguises were great, we still haven't been caught:lmao:

It is going to be a great trip, Reese is such a knucklehead, she just makes you want to laugh and smile all the time.

greenmickeyfanatic Different strokes for different folks aint?

dvcmbr94 I have been on line looking at jibbitz, I like how you said "they make them yours, (mine) " so I will be getting some, theres just so much to choose from.
I wore my crocs for a couple hours yesterday and it kind of felt like I was walking in sand, I thought for sure my legs would be sore today but they are fine, I will bring other choose to Disney just in case.

Preparing for the best Disney trip ever takes time. I will have put a year into it by the time this trip comes around.:surfweb:
There's deciding what parks you wanna do on what days, where do you want to go for your cs meals, where do you make your ADR's, should you park hop, etc...etc... that there was 6 months in the making, once you have decided then you make up an itinerary for each park, with sidenotes of things to remember to do (mostly things you've read about on the disboards.) making sure to schedule down time is important, create a daily budget and so on.

Now I am in no way complaining, because it is all for Disney and for the best Trip ever!!! But the most important part of planning for the best Disney trip ever:banana: is the SHOPPING:woohoo:

That takes at least a year as well, unless you are one of those people who remembers everything the first time you go and then you don't have to go back cause it's done in one swoop to the store, some people are like that, I think they are called efficient?:confused3 I tried to be efficient once, I made my list of all the places I needed to go and what to buy when I get there. But I left the list at home:sad2: DH complains that when it comes to disney and being efficient, I am dead on. But efficency anywhere else in my life? Yeah right:lmao: that's a joke! But back on topic here.

I love to shop, so taking a year to gather all my Disney supplies is fun for me. And easier on the pocketbook.

My first disney purchase of this shopping season (there are 4 shopping seasons ya know.) were the crocs, and I need time to break them in. All shoes for a trip should be purchased at least 2 seasons ahead of trip. that is my rule. (I made that rule up after learning the hard way on my last trip.) So far the crocs are doing what they are supposed to be doing!

I took my second shopping trip a few days ago. It was to Bath and Body. I like to stock up on little pocket size lotions.
I had to ask myself, what do I want to smell like at disney? I sniffed all the 'falvors' till my nose went paralyzed. I ended up getting the ice tea. I love it and thought it would be my 'smell' for Disney. I just hope I don't use it all up before my trip. I tested it out yesterday, I just couldn't resist. I smelled so summer lemony. then Kent came home, sniffed around the air and said "Been dusting huh?" I'm like what?, I don't dust I suck with the vacuum cleaner." He said "Oh, you smell like lemon pledge, I just thought you were dusting."
Ya know, I thought that lotion smelled like something else aside from tea, it kept bringing me back to my childhood, but I couldn't pin point what it was:idea: then bam like a ton of bricks it all came back. Saturday morning house cleaning. I hated that, no cartoons, no going outside, nothing until our house was clean. One of my chores was dusting. My mom had so many knick knacks, dusting took forever, and by the time I was done dusting and putting all her little (crappies as I called them) back on the shelves, I needed a nap. That is why I don't dust, we don't even own lemon pledge, I just use the vacuum, and I do not own alot of 'crappies'.
So now I am thinking I can't go to Disney smelling like Lemon Pledge. no way, no how! I will be on vacation, I can NOT have anything reminding me of work, and most important I can NOT smell like work, even if it is lemony fresh. So I have gone back and bought frosting forever. Smells like...yup! Frosting, which is kind of a christmas memory smell. that's a good smell for Disney.

My mom says there is something wrong with me that I always want to smell like food. :lmao: I never buy floral scents. My lotions are always sweet like Hot Chocolate, or sugar cookie. I do have love spell from VC's but I think it smells like the swedish gummy fish and that's why I bought it. I don't like all kinds of food smells, I can't stand any of the melon or cucumber lotions. Melon I can understand people wanting to smell like that, but cucumber? now that is over board, next they will have a lotion called salad. and then they will make money by offering little salad dressing spritzer lotions.

Stranger: What is that lotion you are wearing?
Wierdo: Oh, it's salad with a spritz of thousand island.

Anyway, I just thought I would share that I have my scent picked for Disney. A couple scents. And they are all Disney worthy, I will smell like cookies, and frosting and hot chocolate. A couple of the days I might even smell like swedish gummy fish.

My job was dusting with lemon scented pledge too! HATED that chore and to this day REFUSE to use it! I use swiffer dry sheets to dust with...nothing lemon scented ever! I think sweet food scents for Disney are perfect! Good luck with the jibbitz!:thumbsup2
