SOLO travelers ONLY - Are you headed for WDW or a DCL cruise in December and looking to meet other SOLO DISers? Or do you just want to let other solos know when you will be there? This is the place to post!

Don't forget to wear your lime green ribbon (or the lime green Mickey paint swatch from Home Depot)!

I (25) will be taking my first ever solo cruise and trip to WDW 11-30 thru 12-9. I hope to take in alot of Mousefest activities and enjoy the Holiday decor !

I'll be going solo to WDW 12/11/03 through 12/15/03.
12/11/03 will be at a non-Disney DTD resort as my flight arrives late afternoon; 12/12/03-12/15/03 will be at an EPCOT resort on the Winter Dream Maker Package.

I don't have my WDW itinerary worked out yet. I have a few questions to post that I hope kind souls will be able to answer!

Please PM me if you are interested in getting together for a meal (I'm going to try for a PS for the Candlelight Processional) or just strolling through a park for a while.

I just made my reservations for PO/Riverside, December 4 - 9. Will anyone be around the same time? I will be there solo.

I'll be at BWV solo 12/6, then moving over to BCV 12/7-12/12.
And mouseaholic, don't know if you've ever stayed solo at POR, but I have several times and loved it there! Before we joined DVC last year, I considered it my solo resort.

I will be staying solo first at The Swan 12/5 - 12/8, and then solo at BWV-one bedroom 12/8 - 12/11.

I just cannot wait !!!

I, myself, cannot post pictures because I use WebTV at home,
not an actual computer, and I don't have a scanner.

I certaintly would post pictures if it was easy enough to do so.

Hello Simba's Mom -

I have stayed alone at Riverside and Wilderness Lodge. I happen to enjoy my own company but it can be lonely at times.

This is the first time I have tried posting here and would enjoy joining someone for dinner or an afternoon at a park...or even miniature golf...have two tickets burning a hole in my travel wallet.

I will probably be at the Magic Kingdom the first night for MVMCP....how could I miss saying hello to Mickey my first night!

If anyone is interested planning something --- I am ready! WDW is a frequent stop for me but I know there is plenty to learn from the other Disney fans here.

I will be at WDW from December 11-17. Staying at ASMu from 11-14 and then switching on the 14 to Pop Century til the 17. I will be wearing my lime green button with my screen name on it. Hope to see some of you there :wave2:

Hello Again -

I found a good enough deal to change to the Beach Club....well, I am in sales and can justify just about anything if I have to.

Anyway....how do I find fellow DIS travelers at WDW?

Mouseaholic - Most DISers wear a lime green ribbon or lime green Mickey paint swatch (from Home Depot), but many don't. If you would like to meet up with other DISers - especially solos to do lunch or the theme parks - these threads are a good place to find them.

FYI to all - - If you are solo and looking but unable to find another DISer to join you for your park experience, PM me and I can probably join you for at least part of the day if you like, as I am a passholder, only live an hour away, and enjoy meeting other DISers.

Hi, I will be staying at the Dolphin Dec 4th-7th then I go to the BWV Dec7th - 11th. First time solo and I hope I can meet some of you.

I am not sure why most of you travel solo. I have traveled solo once (May 2003) and I did it because my spouse is absolutly burned out. I was first introduced to WDW in September 1999. Including that trip I have been six times since. As stated earlier the spouse has no desire to go back and has stated that it will probably be at least five years before she will return (we just finished our family trip Sept 21 2003). Here is the dilema I have. I want to make another solo trip but I am not sure I enjoy the magic as much by myself. On my first trip I met with another Diser for one day and he and I had a great day at MGM. The rest of the week I found myself often thinking about how I wish the family was with me, but knowing that they would not be enjoying it as I was and potentially bringing the moment down with an attitude. Oh yeah we have two children and they don't show much interest anymore either. Sure they would love to go to ride the rides but they just don't enjoy it and crave it like they use to, like I do. Anyway with my first trip I did attempt to meet with several other Disers but did not get much response. I looked for the green ribbons but did not see any. Because I was an adult male solo I found myself somewhat uncomfortable at times and there were certian rides that I chose not to ride because I was afraid it would look pretty weird if I was on it solo (i.e. snow white, voyage of the little mermaid, and almost primeval whirl). I have no problem going to the barber shop and getting mickey put on the back of my head but I just couldn't get myself on certian rides. I am thinking about making another solo trip in December '04 but wanted to check in and see how things looked on the board. So let me know what you think. Am I to concerned about what it looks like. Should I just ride what I want. You know when I think about it when I am with the family I did not notice any solo's. I looked for the ribbons but did not see any. Well thanks for listening and I am open for any advise and opions.

I guess I just don't care and really didn't notice anyone starring. I did everything I wanted (including small World 5 times). I also did some great adult things - backstage tour, WL tour, etc. One thing I am also now hookd on is a Hidden Mickey photo album. I have compiled 4 different hidden mickey list and take pleasure in the hunt and now have an album of my pictures (and a long list to find and photograph next time).

As to why travel alone...I am divorced with a DS8. I wentwhile she was on summer vacation with her DD. Thought it might be tough being in Dis without her (and I did miss her at times) but what better place to be than the happiest place on earth.

Happy travels
Sandy
P.S. I will be spending Christmas 04 in the World

Hello,

I travel solo to Disney (and to anywhere else I roam) because I generally enjoy my own company more than that of others, though I do get lonely at times.

Because I am single and unattached, I often have no choice. I am shy and don't find it easy to make and keep friends, so I usually miss out on a few things. For example, at Crystal Palace on the morning of Saturday, October 14, 2000, I did not get my picture taken with Tigger (though I got one of him) because I didn't want to impose on a perfect--or even an imperfect--stranger and ask him/her to snap the picture.

On the other hand, travelling solo means that I can do what I want, when I want, and I don't have to pay for another unless I want to.

Jim

I'm going solo December 4th through December 9th, as many of you already know from listening to me babble endlessly in the chat room. I don't know why I haven't posted it here before, but I am now. :D

I'm staying two nights at the Caribbean Beach Resort, and then three nights at the Boardwalk Inn (so I can be really close to the place I intend to end most nights--Jellyrolls).

My plans include the Jellyrolls meet I've organized on December 5th (everyone's welcome to come--it's going to be a great time--I guarantee it). Dinner and Candlelight Processional with some Disers on the 6th, as well as the Mega Mouse Meet. I'll be going to MVMCP on the 7th.

I'm also planning to head over to Universal for a day at some point. Or a partial day. Usually about six hours is enough time for me to do everything I want at Universal.

Looking forward to meeting lots of DISers

Karen

Oh, since you're staying at the Beach Club, and planning your December 5th at Epcot, you should try to come to the Jellyrolls meet. Several people are planning on heading over after Illuminations around 10:00. Have you ever been to Jellyrolls? It's a blast, and just a few minutes away from the Beach Club.

Let me know if you decide to go to MVMCP again on Sunday. It would be fun to meet up with someone there. I love the Christmas party too :teeth:
