Dec. 2, 2007-4 night Wonder and MouseFest Cruise

Hi all,

I hope everyone is having a good monday morning. Thanks for letting us know about the Mousefest Walt Disney Suite tour. I just rvsp'd too.

Hey I just noticed on the MouseFest registration that Ray Sharpton just registered again yesterday. Has anyone heard from him yet? I am hoping he is alright.

Less than 7 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Is anyone else going to do the Walt Suite tour? We just signed up for it and I can't wait to see it. Our last two cruises we were trying to find a way to sneak in and see it. It is now on the Mousefest site and you have to RSVP.

Ann Marie

I would love to go and see it, but I'm not sure how much room two scooters would take up during the tour, so I've decided to not think about it. LOL

I haven't signed up for MouseFest yet either.....still undecided. I know this is a first cruise for several here as it is for me and the party that I'm traveling with........I'm just not sure what to expect. :confused3 I maybe just would like to play it by air and not have to be tied down with too many scheduled events. I know I don't have to go, but still I would feel bad signing up for something and not showing up for it. That's just me.......

Anyone planning on heading down to Diversions Sunday evening to watch the football game? The Pittsburgh Steelers are playing......I might even have to wear my game jersey. LOL

Just so you know, signing up officially to participate in Mousefest does NOT mean that you've signed up to participate in any events. The only even signups necessary are for the suite tour, the group parasailing event. etc. "Regular" events are open to everyone.

Mousefest has been free as long as I've been going. The sign up now is just so that the people involved can afford to keep doing it. It's a minimal charge, more of a "donation" to the organizers to help out with the costs.

Hey everyone! Long time, no post (for me, that is). ;) I'm getting SO excited about our cruise, and I cannot believe that we are less than 7 weeks away! Woo Hoo! :)

OJoyfulOne - I noticed in your signature that you stayed at CSR in '04. Did you enjoy the resort? I am currently booked there, but I'm a little nervous about it. When we originally booked our trip I was so excited because we were finally going to stay at the WL. BUT THEN....DD and I decided that we'd really like to POWER SHOP on this trip, so we downgraded to a mod to save $$. I have stayed at the other mods, and I like them just fine, but WL is my dream! I have been trying and trying to get excited about CSR, but it's hard to let go of a dream...

Inkmahm!

Thanks for letting me know! I'll go over and sign us up when I get a chance......

HI DznyDreams!

We LOVED CSR!!! Loved the atmosphere! It's a huge resort. In helping to make my choice between the moderates, I headed over to the resorts board and found a LOT of info over there and asked questions. There is also a thread over there specifically for CSR which you find a lot out about and was helpful as well.

They have a sit down resturant that was very nice, I thought.......but I forget the name of it. Sorry. And the other place to eat is set up differently than other Disney resorts. They have different stations with different types of food and you order from which ever station you like (I think it was a bit on the pricey side, though). The buritos are very good! That's what Jill and I had our first day there. I don't remember a lot, but I'm sure they have all that info in the thread over on the resorts board.

There are three different themes for the rooms. I know the Cabanas are one section and the only section I can remember, but didn't stay here (hmmmm....that's pretty sad if I can't even remember where I stayed :(). It has it's own little beach-type area. Everything is situated around this HUGE lake! The pool was pretty cool! And I believe they have a play area either near the pool or not too far from the pool for the kids?? I think each room section has it's own quiet pool.

I realize everyone's tastes are different, but we LOVED it! I believe it was more than what I was expecting from a moderate resort! The only thing negative is that I know it was a lot of walking for my aide. The resort is very big.

I don't know how much this helps, but I know that the CSR thread helped me a great deal!

Oh you helped a lot! Thank you! I have read a lot of the CSR thread on the resorts board, but it is always nice to hear from someone who is not PRO just one particular resort.

The pictures I've seen are very nice. From what I've read so far, it seems that most folks either love CSR or hate it. I am trying to keep a good attitude. Some days I think I've made the right choice, and then there are those days when I question my decision....you know how it goes.

More on a cruise note....

I just ordered snorkeling equipment, and I'm so excited! :woohoo: I know we can rent it, but it's something we'll be able to use again, so why not have our own, right? ;) (I'll use any excuse to shop! :) )

I had to admit, I went to the Disney site to look at the list of moderate resorts so that I could figure out what a "CSR" was. It looks fine to me, but then I think that all Disney resorts are a step above being anywhere else outside the world. At Disney, it's more the "style" and theming that appeals to various people since they all have pretty good service/amenities/etc.

I'm partial to the heavily themed resorts. Animal Kingdom is my favorite and I'd say probably Wilderness Lodge second, then Boardwalk. All depends on what mood I'm in though. :)

Oh MEEEE TOOO! :thumbsup2 I have actually stayed in the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge one time, so technically, I have already lived out my "dream" of staying at WL. We visited Animal Kingdom just after it opened, and it is beautiful too. Also, I've stayed in the Boardwalk Villas. Very nice! (You'd think by now we'd be DVC members.:confused3 )

I have nothing at all against the moderate resorts. We have had some very nice stays at CBR, POR, and POFQ in the past, and I am sure we will enjoy CSR this year too.:goodvibes

I got that impression as well.....people either hated it or they loved it.

We were not sure if we were going to like the resort as well and ended up loving it! I think, and correct me if I'm wrong, that the thing most people didn't like about the resort was that this is the resort where all the people in for conventions stay. They just didn't like to see all the work stuff tied in with vacationing. We did see some, but not a whole lot. And what we did see didn't bother us at all!

DznyDreams I hope your vacation is a magical one!

I noticed that there were a few from the Ohio area traveling this cruise, I think??? and one from PA.....

Anyone thinking about watching the game at Diversions Sunday evening?

It's the Steelers versus the Bengels.......

Don't know if you Ohio folk are Bengels or Browns fans or even football fans at all? :confused3

Well, I will put this nicely... I root for the Browns (I know they stink, but I grew up in Cleveland) and I also root for anyone playing the Steelers
:flower3: .
I don't plan on watching football while I am on vacation.

I believe you are correct. Fortunately, I do not think there are any LARGE conventions during the week of 11/25 to 12/2, and there may not be any conventions at all that week. I believe it will be a great time to be at CSR. :thumbsup2

Just curious: What is everyone planning to do in Nassau? Our plans are still up in the air right now. I want to get off the ship and at least see the area a bit, but I don't know the best way to go about doing it since we are new to cruising. A little shopping would be nice too. (Shopaholic here! ;) )

We were just planning to get off the ship and walk around, but I saw the organised walk with Mousefest, so thought that a good, safe, way to see some of the place. It is supposed to only last a couple of hours, so soon back on board.

Now this sounds like a great idea! Do I need to sign up or is it just a "show up" sort of tour?

Jill and I plan to at least get off the ship and have a look see. Not sure how accessible Nassau is, but we will find out. :) (That's why I'm not sure about the walk.......which sounded like a pretty good idea). I wanted to try and get over to see Atlantis (not spend the day there.....just look and take some pics....I hear it's something to see), but I'm not sure if there are any handicapped accessible vehicles/vans that could get us over there. :(

Tim and Lynda are going on the Ardestra Gardens tour early afternoon and I am scheduled for a hand massage at 1:30. LOL I thought I would give it a try even though I could probably have one done here close to home cheaper. I'm going to see if I can get Jill scheduled for the same time and day. I had to put Jill in on a different day because I couldn't schedule us together. However, Jill is still unsure about the hand massage anyway. :)

I think this is also the day we are scheduled for dinner at Palo's.....maybe 6:30??

Nassau’s still a big debate around our house as well. I think Ann Marie has it narrowed it down between the walking tour or hanging out at Atlantis, then getting back on board early to miss the rush.
