It being reported that dec 18 animal kingdom will test fast pass plus only no legacy fast pass will be given out. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up so when planing you know to do fast pass plus. As you won't be able to get legacy fast passes. Their no word how long the testing will be and other details yet on guest staying off site. But I think this is their way to test same day guest and off site guest into the system. They picked animal kingdom as they have less rides with fast pass compared to other parks.

This makes me sad. We have Florida resident APs and do not stay in the resorts and there is no news on us getting magic bands anytime soon. I can't justify the expense of booking even a 1 night resort stay to access FP+, when our house is 3 miles down the road. I have many medical expenses which I know a lot of you could understand.

We pull regular FPs and I use my DAS only when really needed. The wait at kiosks will be too much for me, and my dh who is also disabled. I will have to rely on DAS more I guess. I need it but it makes me feel bad, just a visible sign of my disabilities. Today I used it for Peter Pan, but I stumbled getting out of the car, so that is off the list for a while, unless my legs get stronger. An upnote was that for the first time in many, many years I rode the carousel sitting on the bench. It was terrific, the music and all made me feel like a kid again!

The say in 2014 to look for info I think your still be able to do it with your ap if they have RFID. This is to test day guest and non Disney resort guest and to see how the system handles it. They picked ak as it the less with fast pass rides then the other parks. Plus now with aps if you stay one night you get fast passes and magic bands you just need to have a resort reservation to get the magic band. They say soon they release details how ap can get one without staying at a resort they also haven't said anything on how much fast pass plus aps can get.

You might want to recheck about the magic bands. I know regular AP holders can get them. I don't know why a Florida AP holder wouldn't get them too.

I agree.
We have APs and have gotten information verbally and in writing that AP holders will have Magic Bands. Because we stayed at OKW in October, our APs are actually on Magicbands right now.
We were with another family who did not have APs during our trip. They bought their tickets after arriving, so we did not actually make any Fastpass Plus ahead of time.

From everything I have read, any pass will be able to be registered with My Disney Experience, which means they will be able to reserve Fastpass Plus once the program is fully rolled out.
(Disney has written that Fastpass Plus will be available eventually for all guests).

I have My Disney Experience and we renewed our APs and linked them. I'm just really hoping we'll hear something, because we plan to return in March. I have a feeling it will be the third trip with no FP+

Are you staying on site if so you will get to use fast pass plus. they are trying to get aps fast pass plus and magic bands without staying at a resort first. That why they are doing this test was at ak today and heard other guest talking about it. That they was trying to make it as fair as they can for aps to get good return times. So I say by early 2014 they will give more info and most likely before march they my start testing aps with magic bands and fast pass plus with out staying at a Disney resort stay.

They want this system fully rolled out as fast as they can so thy can add more features. But they are taking their time to get it right and it keeps getting pushed back.

No David, we have a house down there, 3 miles from Disney as a matter of fact, so we really don't want to pay for a resort room...

What happens after you use all your FP+ times? Are you allowed to pull normal DO times? Or are you only allowed to have those three all day? I get so confused about what is true NOW and what they plan for the future. I expect to have a DAS but I need to be able to plan for the trip and for when my folks move local in the near future. Thanks.

Right now it just the three once you use them that it but not sure for the future. It depends on which direction Disney would go give more to on site resort guest how many they give to aps. At ak they had a lot of cms helping making choices and in the parks they had a good number of looks you can make changes to them.

I would plan to use fast pass plus for he big rides you want to go on and das for the others. Or use fast pass plus then das for the rides that are near them so you can try to so stuff in between waiting for your das return time.

1) right now, guests using Fastpass Plus are allowed to choose 3 Fastpass Plus times/shows per day.

2) we don't know if 3 will be the limit once Fastpass Plus is totally rolled out or not.

3) I'm not sure what you mean by "normal DO" times, but the old Fastpass program is going away. So, Fastpass Plus will be the only Fastpass.

During the testing, people had figured out that they could use pretty much any card with a magnetic strip in the regular/old Fastpass machines and get a Fastpass. So, people were bringing expired passes, key cards from past trips and getting regular/ old Fastpasses plus their 3 Fastpass Pluses.
Eventually, they will have to 'turn off' the Fastpass machines do they can stitch to Fastpass Plus.
AK is a good park for starting with because there are a couple of high demand attractions and a lot with higher capacity.

We had evidently "mistakenly" gotten MB because we had APs but not reservations, and got MBs and customized everything and made FP+ before we were there Thanksgiving through December 5. We attached our APs to them but nothing else. When we arrived, none of our FP+ info was on there, even though it was there when we flew down Thanksgiving Day. We had the RFID cards, and all parks were still using the enter-pull FP- turnstiles- anything that used RFID was magic band FP+ return, not RFID.

Since we went, I've seen day guests being able to get FP+ so maybe AP holders can get them now... It would have definitely helped us with our day- instead we had to rely a lot of the DAS, but I consider that to be more Disney's planning with FP+ than ours- we were fine with FP-.

Go with what works for you, and don't think about it as a badge of shame. My husband thought that, until I pointed it out repeated it that it let him do things that we wouldn't have been able to do otherwise- including TSMM.

We were at AK this week with only fp+. It was a bit of a bust.

At airport now. I will post more when I'm back at a computer.

I was also here this week leaving today thought they was trying hard to help people make fast pass plus reservations.

That funny was here this week and leaving today didn't do fast pass plus but wish they did more to let guest know before they for their.

Sometimes I have a really hard time understanding what you mean. This is one of those times. Respectfully I ask you to please slow down a bit as you type. :flower3:
