Has anyone been on a cruise at this time of year before? Are we going to want to get in the water or is it going to be too cold?!

Trying to find counter...but keeps telling me I have under 10 posts.
:sad1:a>

Don't do the html option, do the other one (can't remember what it's called). I don't have 10 posts either, but the non-html thing is allowed anyway.

I guess it doesnt like me...I have tried all of them. I guess just need to post more.

#10 Steve Harvey radio show is on the Dream now and talking about how awesome it is. I cannot wait.

Air and water (sea) temp should both be around 80 degrees F. Depends what you think is too cold. Both would be great for me! :sunny:

Woohoo!! I rock. Super excited about Dream!
:dance3: Yay!

Air temp of 80 sounds good, if not a little warm. I'm sooo not a hot weather person! I can't quite think of what water temperature 80 would feel like, but as long as it's warm enough outside, I will definitely be in the pool/ocean!

Where do you live in Orlando? My sister is a WDW cast member and lives in Windermere. I have spent the past 5 summers with her and worked at Chef Mickey's. I'm seasonal there. Teach during the year, Chef Mickey's during the summer. :)

NOAA has some good maps that show sea surface temperature by date throughout the Bahamas.

The December 22, 2010 data shows that Castaway Cay is on the border between the warm currents (76 F +/-) and the colder water (64 F +/-) that lies behind Great Abaco Island. The water along this boundary appears to run in the mid to low 70s (70F - 75F) but fluctuates up and down based on the currents.

Count us in!!!! It'll be me, my 2 sisters, my parents, grandpa, aunt, and cousin. We have 3 rooms booked on deck 9.

I'm a 25 year old 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teacher living in Louisville, KY. We went on the Mediterranean cruise back whenever the Magic was first in Europe, and we went on a 4 night like a million years ago!! Can't wait to go on the Dream and spend time with family. We're doing 1 night pre-cruise at the Boardwalk and 6 nights post cruise at the Beach Club. I think this is going to be great! :)

Welcome, added to the first post!

This will be our first Disney Cruise and we are so excited. Our group includes myself, DH and our DD who will turn 10 the day we board. I wish I had a 10th Birthday like that! Looking forward to sharing and learning from all you cruise veterans!!

I'm tempted to do the GTY cabins because I didn't realize the 11A's don't have the split bathroom, but with 3 cabins I think it would get annyoing if we end up on opposite sides/ends/decks. Still doing the debate in my head.

Our plans are to stay on the ship in Nassau...maybe get off to get hair braided and do a little shopping :) and then just explore when we get to CC. We haven't been in about 10 years, so I'm sure a lot has changed!!!

I wouldn't chance GTY with 3 cabins because you'll probably be spread out. Depends how much you want to see each other I guess. :rotfl:

Those are our plans for Nassau. I doubt we'll get off the boat, we'll be beat from WDW and plan to just relax and do nothing on this cruise!

Thanks for the awesome report on this excursion. I especially appreciated the part about the girl being afraid, I can just see my DD freaking out and not wanting to participate. Definitely something to think about before-hand!!! It sounds so cool, worth the investment! I think we are going to try the sting ray encounter, I'm sure after taking our first Disney cruise we will be back and can save the dolphins for our next trip!

At a different port, we did a Dolphin Encounter. You shake "hands", you kiss them, they kiss you, but no swim. DD was 2 at the time and enjoyed it (she was a little scared in the beginning), that may be worth looking into.

Sounds good to me! :cool1:

This is interesting. Thanks for sharing! We'll have to watch as the date gets closer. Why oh why won't the date get closer?! ;)

Thanks! :wave2:

Does anyone know what main seating means for dinner? Our reservation says main seating, 9pm show. Dinner around 6 or 7 maybe?

We're having another snow day here today. It's about our 6th one! We have to make them all up, so that won't be fun at the end of the year. Going back to bed after the alarm goes off and you see there's no school is always a beautiful thing though. :)

I believe Main seating is the first seating for dinner which means you go to the early dinner (sitting starts at 5:30). You eat dinner then go the 2nd show at 9PM. The late diners are watching the show first then eat dinner.

We've only had 1 snow day the year.....we rarely get them unless it is a complete blizzard out....but I am so sick of the cold and snow. Today I think we may actually be in twenty's. Seems like a heat wave after the last few days in the single digits!! Just talking and thinking about sand and warm weather......ahhhhhhh!

So if seating starts at 5:30, how late can you get there? I'm just not remembering from our last cruise!

Where are you in Ohio? I was born/raised in Cincinnati. Just moved to Louisville, Kentucky 3 years ago. We rarely had snow days growing up, but here if there's 2-3 inches we're automatically closed!! I don't mind winter. I would take this any day over 95 degree temperatures.

Hmm, I'm confused. I didn't think about it but I think it says first seating but my show is at 7pm? Maybe I have the 5:30pm dining?

I'm in NJ and we're having YET MORE SNOW as well. I'm *so* over it!

Hi everyone. Our family Me 40, DH 45, DD 13, DS 10 and DD 7, are all super excited to be cruising on B2B cruises for 12/18 and 12/22. What an incredible way to spend the holidays. We have 2 rooms in category 5c on deck 7. Count us in for the fish extender. CANT'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live on the east side of Orlando, near UCF and the Research Park where I work. Windermere is very nice, although there is a bit of a scandal going on there right now with their chief of police being arrested! Working at Chef Mickey sounds like a good way to spend the summer. I've also been to 4 Kentucky Derbys so I have had way more than my fair share of fun in your fair city of Louisville!
