I bought pirate costumes for everybody in the family! Since the kids don't know about the cruise portion of the vacation, I told them we are going to a PoC themed event at WDW. Boy, are they gullible!
We will tell them about the cruise portion Thanksgiving weekend. My DSis will be here for the holiday, and I'll let her tell the kids, since she and her hubby are coming with us.
No matter where you live, you'll hear the screaming from my house.
Hi Everyone!
This will be our first Disney cruise and the first cruise for my husband and children. We have a 4 year old boy and an 8 yo girl. We can't wait!
I had no idea about the pirate wear - got to add that to my cruise to do list. We'll be driving in on the 10th and doing Universal for a few days after - sounds like we aren't the only ones doing that.
Hi Misha! This is our first cruise as well--we have a 3 1/2 yo son and a 14 mo daughter, but she will sadly not be cruising with us! I've been wanting to connect with someone who has a child close in age to my son so I'm excited to "meet" you! I'm nervous, excited, etc. about the trip, especially about leaving my son in the kid's club! I haven't even thought about pirate wear yet!
It's our first cruise as well. My 2 yo girl is just learning about Disney now. My DH is sick of me talking about the trip... but he's as much fun as a wet sock, so that's not stopping me. I've got my lists made and yes Misha, I've started packing!! Just don't have a costume yet. But I'm sure I can come up with something.
Jennifer - we'll have to get the boys together. My son is in daycare so I'm not overly worried about the kids club. I have friends that say their kids love it and others who have kids that don't go in at all. It's their vacation and I'm leaving it up to them - they can stay if they want to or be with us. We have it a bit easier - my mom, stepdad, sister, brother-in-law and 2 y/o niece are going as well. (NicRI above is my sister - she's the one that discovered the boards!). So we have built in babysitters if needed! We plan on having one night of dancing and carrying on and I did book one surprise spa appt for me and the hubby! I think I'm more excited than the kids!
I did talk to my little guy about the boat drill so he doesn't get scared - I hear it can be very loud. We're calling it a "boat fire-drill" and that seems to make sense to him.

Hey I'm getting the hang of the symbols......the abbreviations are a bit harder...
OK! Im taking a poll Who will be decorating their doors? (What . Why and How?) Ive read in some of the other threads that it was an issue with the cabin steward.
We're going to try to decorate our door. We have 2 different door covering ideas;
since this is our first cruise, we'll have to see if our ideas will work.

Cabin Steward will not be a problem if he/she wants a tip.

OK - we finally find this board and everyone goes into hibernation! Where did you all go? Is everyone furiously packing already?
I can't stop reading the boards, luckily my DH is out of town - when he gets back he may send me to a "clinic" for my addiction!
I found a great link for kids journal pages in another thread - will make great keepsakes (and more importantly budget friendly!) If anyone is interested I can try and figure out how to post the link!
Ok time to go over the packing list again.....I know I'm forgeting something.....
