Is anything going on which would make you not go during this time? I would prefer not to be there during the filming of the Christmas parade as we plan to spend two days in Magic Kingdom. We plan to stay at AKL.

Parade was taped earlier than I expected last year mid Nov. was there, skipped MK in am to avoid crowds, just as I've done in past. Don't think the dates have been announced yet for this year.

Pop warner stars on the 3rd. We've never had an issue with unruly kids at resorts or in the parks, they are well-supervised. Wouldn't hesitate to book that time period.

Naturally, MVMCP will result in shortened MK evening hours.

I've been during this time and it is quite pleasant. Last year they filmed the Christmas parade in mid Nov and we were there, it was actually no big deal once you got off of Main St. It's a little cool weather wise but a very nice time to go.

Thanks for the quick replies. I was a little worried about Pop Warner affecting the ground levels. We plan on attending the Christmas party one evening. Sounds like this will be a good time for us to go.

Traditionally, they would be taping the Christmas parade over your dates, but as PPs said, last year they moved it to Nov and we do not yet know what they are doing this year. If the taping would significantly reduce your time in MK and you can go a week later, I might opt to do the week later just in case they return to the Dec taping.

Pop Warner will be arriving about the same time, but I too would not let that keep me from going.

We usually go that week, and I plan to again this year. It's a great time to go--normally. The parade taping usually happens then, though as others said, it didn't last year. The thing I'm not happy about this year is that there is a short window of Free Dining that opens up about three days before then, which means that people checking in earlier that week will have that discount plan, and the restaurants will be very full. I'm having a harder time than usual getting reservations, and there is overall a lot less availabilty at the resorts than we typically see that week, so I'm worried it will prove to be a busier week than usual.

I always go over those days and have historically experienced lower crowd levels than when I go in May. Lower being a relative term, of course. :) Crowd levels overall are a lot higher than in the past. I've never experienced any issues with Pop Warner in the parks. I stay at the deluxe resorts through DVC points so I don't have any experiece with the Pop Warner kids in the resorts. Overall I think it's a great time to visit WDW.

We are booked!!! Other than the Christmas Party does anyone have any special things to recommend that we should do/book?

Depends on your definition of "cool." We are from the north and 70s is great, we wore shorts every day but departure when it was low 50s and drizzle. Only one time that week was it a bit cool and that was one evening at Fantasmic, it was lower 60s but the spray from the show made it cooler. We always could spot southerners, they were dressed like it was snowing out.

Definitely do the Candelight Processional if you are into Christmas music. Also the monorail resorts decorate their lobbies very well.

I would suggest popping over to the December 2016 happy dance thread, you can get some ideas about December at Disney. we will be there the same week with Dec 6(MVMCCP),9 our MK days. IMO weather is great and crowds are very manageable. Have a great trip!

Well I live in Michigan so cool isn't terrible for me lol. It isn't cold until it's below zero : ) Agreed people that live in Florida wear parkas and think 60 is freezing, we get a laugh out of it.
