Well...that was an adventure! Registration opened at noon today for the Disney World Marathon weekend (in January) and I managed to get myself signed up for the 5K after 15 mins in the queue (right at noon, of course) and before I could register my daughter, it was on hold, and then sold out! So instead of running as a family...I guess I'm running all by myself.

I just got the good news from DH that he IS getting a bonus! Just found today and should be in his next paycheck! It is not the 10% of salary we were hoping for, but between that, his next payment, and his tax return (whenever he finally gets it), that will knock out the car payment!! So as long as the tax return shows up next month, since it still just shows up as processing, then the car should be paid off by May 31st!

I deserve wine! My mom insisted on going to the store tonight so I took her. I walked away for 3 minutes and she's bending over and falling! So we are back at the ER because she hit her head (she doesn't remember) and her hip is messed up now. I need wine!!!!

I knew it was popular...but I wasn't expecting it to sell out in half an hour. Crazy!!

The 10K was on hold at 12:15 pm. Isn't that nuts? That's when I finally got through... And I hear ya! I'm worried about doing the 5K...as I've never raced before and I am overweight but I've been training for 16 weeks already and I'll keep it up for the rest of the year.

My DD was DEVASTATED I couldn't get her in. I felt so bad. Even my DS (who hadn't wanted to do it in the first place) was pouting. After the fact, I found a website that give tips on how to ensure your whole party gets in. Too late for this time...but maybe next time!

Get on a private Facebook group for the marathon. People will drop out and they will offer up their numbers or sell their numbers.

Apparently this year you need to show your ID to pick up your registration package. There were several disclaimers on the website that you can't even pick up your spouse's package...only parents of kids under 18 can pick up the stuff for their kids. Doubt anyone can sell their number this year.

Bummer, sorry, I just knew a family that raced 2 years ago, and they had to cancel and they found another family. I suppose it has to do with security.

Probably. I guess it makes sense...I understand why they won't do refunds but I wonder how many no shows they will have as a result of this. I just wish I could have got my daughter registered with me. Dang it!!

I'm behind on posting. Glad to hear that your DS is better. And that your mom got discharged. Hoping and praying that the meds help. And I'll keep your sister in my prayers as well.

Just as a thought on the cc's. I had one that I paid off in fall of '14 and haven't used since. Went to use it the other day to get tires for my car, and was informed that it had been closed due to inactivity. I guess I can't blame them, much, but it is irritating that I missed the notification. And that it reduced my available credit by about $5k. That is gonna hurt my score when it gets calculated in. I've kind of decided that as i pay off the other cards, I'm going to schedule one monthly bill to each one so that doesn't happen again.

And on the mom update: She went back in the hospital Sunday night because her kidneys weren't functioning. They have her on an IV, and some meds, and they have started working but not at the level they need to. A specialist is supposed to be in sometime today to look at the test results, and we are hopeful that she can come home by the end of the week.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. How is she doing? I hope you have gotten some answers from the specialist by now. Has she been given the go ahead to go home?

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. How is she doing? I hope you have gotten some answers from the specialist by now. Has she been given the go ahead to go home?

She is improving, thanks. Still waiting to see if she will get to come home today or have to stay for the weekend. I know that the specialist talked to my sister, but I honestly don't know exactly what was said by the specialist and what was said by the doctor. I get the synopsis a couple of times a day.
