Debt Dumpers - 2013

Nope, no Aldi either. I think my best option is probably eliminating the pricier options at little caesars & sticking to the cheese & pepperoni cheapos.

When we get Little Caesars we ask them to sprinkle the crazy bread garlic on the pizza crust. It really makes it taste awesome, and I love that its only $5!

That's another thing. My wisdom teeth are below my gum line. I've never cut them. I'm 38. My dentist said we'll leave them where they are unless they start to cause trouble. I wouldn't have yours pulled unless they start causing trouble.

I never heard of a root canal not needing a cap. I do not understand why dental insurance only pays 50%. Mine will not pay for anesthesia. How in the world are you suppose to have dental work done:confused3

I had a root canal on a front tooth that did not need a cap.

My insurance would have covered injections/gas for wisdom tooth removal but I paid extra for the twilight sleep sedation because they were impacted and only slightly erupted. I had no desire to be awake for that.

I've had 2 root canals so far. The first was on my front tooth and they built the tooth back up with filling and the other was on the side of my mouth with they built up with a filling. This one here he already took the cavity out and filled it but told me if it bothered me I would definitely need a root canal. The pain really isn't that bad right now, so I decided to see how it feels today and if it is consistent then I am going to schedule it and get it over with. Part of me thinks I should just have the tooth pulled and save some money - it's all the way in the back anyways.

Add me to the never know root canal did not need a crown. The crown is to strengthen the tooth and keep it from breaking apart.

Omg! I should NOT have activated my code from class for the online stuff. Because now I'm in love with the Gazelle budget. Which is gonna cost me money in 2 months...

You might check out YNAB.com. It's cheaper, only makes you pay once instead of annual renewals, and works off the same budget to zero principles. It has quite a few features I like better (like a great iOS/android app)

Mint.com
it's free and very well rated

I used Mint. It's a great budgeting tool and you can link your accounts to it to track your spending. You can also set goals like saving a particular amount, paying off debt, etc. I sign in at least once a day!

Thanks for the tip!! I didn't find Dave Ramsey's software to be very useful, maybe I'm technology-illiterate but it just didn't seem very user-friendly and twice I had to delete everything and start over. I'm still debating on if I want to keep the paid membership there... I do like being able to post on their forums.

I was determined to pay off my smallest student loan by the end of July - it's the 25th now and I have about $850 left on it argh! I'm trying my hardest to squeeze money out of everywhere I can, but I don't know if it can be done. I feel like my debt pay-off chart on my wall is mocking me :rotfl:

You sound like me trying to squeeze the budget! Even though your goal is July to have it paid off, if you can't I'm sure you will in August! You have done a fantastic job and should be proud of yourself!

Thanks so much!! :)

I found a new (to me) blog called "the prudent homemaker". She feeds her brood for a pittance, but she does garden & bake. So I'm sure that helps. Maybe I can get some ideas.

Is there a June or July "no buy" thread? I think I'll go through my pantry & see if I can do a shoestring budget for July since I have some meat in the freezer & pasta in the pantry. I might be able to come up with about 3 weeks of pantry/freezer menus.

There's a June "no buy" thread and a July one will probably come along by the end of the month. I'm in the same boat, my pantry is so full of boxes of pasta, cans of soup and beans etc, and I really want to use it all up in July. I'm pretty sure I easily have a month's worth of food in there, I just need to stop going to the store and replacing the same things I eat all the time!

Feeling very discouraged. We were doing so good on paying stuff off and then I lost my job. Thank god I was only out of work a week before I found another one but just that weeks loss if income is really putting a strain on us. I know we will get back on track but I am just feeling very defeated right now.

:( Hugs. :grouphug: One day at a time. Just really skimp for the next few weeks.

{{arwood82}} I know it's hard.

DH has finally been cleared to return to work. His Ltd disability payment has been 60% of his income then we have to pay out 35% to pay his insurance premiums. It will be nice to have his regular income again & be able to pay some bills off.
