Debit/Credit Card

Do I have to give a debit/credit card to put on file when I check in ? I don't plan on charging anything.

I did not put a credit card on file when I went two years ago and stayed at CBR.

You do not have to. But without it on file, you will not be allowed to charge merchandise at the parks back to your room which is one of the privileges of staying on site. You can also put down cash to hold on your room to be able to charge items back as well.

The second year we used the DDP, we had problems with restaurants charging meals back to our room, instead of taking them off the DDP. Ever since then, we never leave a cc on file. I always take Disney gift cards down there to pay for anything I want. I love coming home to a zero balance on my credit card and money left over on the gift card to use for another trip. I also like that every time I use the gift card the receipt shows the amount used and the new total. If an error is made I can catch it right there at the store/restaurant.

When you use the DDP, the receipt shows you also how many meal credits you have left. If that is not shown on the receipt it probably means it was accidently charged to the room rather than the DDP, ask the server why.

we never give the resort a credit card at checkin either. i dont see why its a perk to charge merchandise to ur room? i think its more of a hassle cause CMs do make mistakes and over charge. its happened at restaurants. in the end why does it matter when you pay? i buy stuff from the gift shops (in cash) then get the store to send it to my resort so i dont have to carry the item around the parks. that perk is available to all disney resort guests no matter if you leave your credit card or not!!!!

I downloaded it to my iPhone and already added my gift cards. I used the "empty" cards from out last trip and was happy to have $9.67 left on one card. THANKS AGAIN!

I just added funds to our card on Thursday and for some reason it would not allow the CM to add the money in one lump sum. So the CM had to do each $100.00 separately and it only took 5 of them. So she then had to do $20.00 increments for the remaining $200.00. My DH called me and said what happened. I just started laughing because he had 15 transactions show up on his phone.
