Can I call and use my debit card to pay off the balance on my resort before I leave for my trip? Thanks so much!

Absolutely! As long as your debit card has a Visa or Mastercard logo on the front, it will be accepted everywhere in WDW. Just be cautioned: many banks have a limit on how much you can purchase with your debit card per day. Make sure to check with your bank to see what the limit is.

I had the problem Debi mentioned. My bank has a limit for 24 hours and for single transactions. My card was denied even though the account had plenty of money. I was so embarrassed.

This almost happened to us last year. We had our room cards set up so we could charge things to the room, and at the end of your stay, they do one BIG charge to your card and if you have a dollar limit, as most debit cards do, it will NOT go through, no matter how much money you have in there. This annoyed me because I went to my bank before my trip and asked to have my daily limit raised or removed, and the lady at the bank told me I wouldn't have any problems since they (Disney) would be charging me each day, and not one lump sum. Well, she was wrong and good thing we had another credit card to use because we put EVERYTHING on our room card and had a big grand total at the end!

We had this happen also when we were trying to buy our AP's. Early that morning we had paid for our room and I never thought anything else about it. I almost died when they told me my debit card was declined. I called the number on the back of the card and the extremely nice gentleman increased out limit right then. We got our passes and all was well. It probably only took about 5 - 10 minutes, but it felt like a lifetime. If you have problems call the number on the back of the card and they should take care of you.

I like charging back to my room so that I only have one charge to my debit card. This makes it much easier to reconcile when you receive your bank statement! Trust me, I learned the hard way on our first trip last year!
