A tornado went through Winter Haven near Legoland tonight. Homes have been damaged and there are some injuries. All of Central Florida is under a tornado watch.

We've been getting rain since last night. Periods have been very heavy. Winds have really picked up. I'd guess we are getting gusts to 50 mph. Currently tornado warnings in Brevard and Osceola counties.

There is flooding in Tampa and one person was killed by a tornado south of there earlier today.

The next couple of days could be pretty interesting since this is a very slow moving storm.

A front passed through a few minutes ago. The winds were crazy. Now, they've issued a tornado warning for east Orange county. I'm on the west side near Disney. I'm sure it is the same front. It could be a long night!

Everyone on my facebook page is completely flipping out. It kind of surprises me. I've only lived here for three years...I'd expect all the natives to react nonchalantly to this kind of thing.

We lost power for a bit earlier tonight, but luckily we've been fine since. The storm seems to have calmed down a bit. I can't imagine there's much damage in my area, but I'm definitely glad we're so inland.

I was just going to post about the storm. We just survived our first tornado. Our house seems to be good but our neighbor's car is in their front yard. Poor DS, I yanked him out of his crib so fast!

The house across the street is a vacation rental and part of their roof is gone. What fun to deal with while you're on vacation!

It was scary! It sounded like a train. Good thing is it woke us up to the fact that it could be us next time. Now we'll have a plan in place!

We realized tonight that there is no rhyme or reason to these things. Our neighbor's grill was blown clear across the patio but yet his ash tray is still in the same spot on the patio table. And he's the one with the car in his front yard!

I'm over in Four Corners and it has been non-stop rain for 2 days and we're expecting PLENTY more.

Keep safe everyone and stay off of I-4 if you can. That highway is a train wreck on a dry day, it's a nightmare in the rain.

Could we have chosen a worse weekend to move into our new house? It was a rainy disaster from start to finish. We're safe and nothing has flooded or been damaged though, so I shouldn't complain. Sending good (safe!) thoughts to everyone, including those here on vacation for the week.
