Just wondering....
The last few threads with arguments in have been closed. I'd like it if we had some more debates on the teen boards, but I'd like to know what we are and aren't allowed to say. (This post isn't inteaded to bash the mods or make a point about censorship, I'd just like to know.)
If I tell someone I disagree with their views, is that allowed?
What if I say why I don't believe in God, an give reasons?
If a moderator could clear this all up, I'd be grateful.

PS - I know we have a debate board, but the people over there are capable of knocking down all my opinions in less than a minute , sometimes its nicer to be arguing with people my own age.

You can't personally attack anyone, swear, say anything offensive... read the Board Guidelines for more info.

Or even better, maybe make a teen debate board? I think that there are enough people here to make that board work. I'd even be the mod for it!(Even though I doubt I'd actually moderate it.) Regardless, I don't want to go off on one of my free speech/censorship tangents, although I easily could, but I'm too hungry to complain. I did disagree with views, and use reasons to back my disagreement. When I got some backing and some people ran out of reasons, they went and got a mod, who shut it down out of fear that a few people's feelings were hurt because they cant handle an argument. Oops, I think I went off on a tangent. I'm done, I'm going to lunch, eat this.

I know there is a debate board, I regularly visit it and sometimes post, but like I said, some of the people there are just too good at debating, sometimes its just better t debate with other teens.
You can't personally attack anyone, swear etc. on the debate board, and I'm not asking to do that here. I'd just like to discuss and debate issues with other teens, and I'm wondering if that's allowed, or what we are allowed to do/say.
I'm not asking for the right to slam anyone who's views I disagree with, or trying to start an argument over what's appropriate, I'd just like a moderator to tell me what I can and can't say.

I totally get where pigsoldier is coming from. A teen debate board would be nice, but I doubt that is going to happen anytime soon.

I'm not sure if we need a teen debate board, but I just wanted to say that I enjoyed the discussion last night. I don't really play any of the games here, so I found that thread to be an interesting contribution to the Teen Board.

This sounds kinda fun! Why doesn't someone start a topic and see how everyone responds? If it gets out of hand, then stop the thread. Just obey the rules and be courteous to other peoples opinions! What does everyone think?

Hi everyone,

Open discussions about various issues and topics are encouraged, however the DIS moderators and webmasters request that everyone conduct themselves in a respectful manner when speaking to other board members.

There are topics that are not permitted to be debated, such as religion and personal politics. Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

As for a Teen Debate Board, as said these boards cost a lot of money to run. They are not free.
A Teen Debate Board is simply not possible.

The main topic on this board is generally Disney, however feel free to start topics within the guidelines.

a debate teen board is out of the question..the boards are expensive...they did close a few boards like a year ago(the trivia board went...)

Ok, I'm on my High School debate team, and I know that it really takes nothing at all to start a debate. On the way home from trip we've argued over Everything. I mean on the bus we've been banned from talking about music, politcs, perosnal rights, moveis. and so on. So if ya'll want a topic to debate that won't be perosonal and is about disney here's one.

: What is better the disney movies that are cartoons or the disney movies with real people?

I'll post a tread with it on it and then ya'll can go at!
