OK here's the reasons I've gotten them:
1) Movie prices here are $10.25 per person. Add in two popcorns, two candies and two drinks, and you are at the $50 mark.
2) I hate paying $50 and walking out of a movie I don't like.
3) I love movies. LOVE THEM. Sometimes there might be 5 or 6 movies at the theater that I might like to see. If I go see all of them over, say a month, I have spent nearly $300 on movies and snacks.
4) I hate waiting for it to come out on DVD and when it does finally arrive, Hollywood Video usually doesn't have it in stock, even though they guarantee it.
I didn't go seeking out bootleg copies. I know someone who knows someone who knows Kramer

Anyway, I get charged $5 movie for decent quality DVD's of movies that are in the theater and the majority of them ARE FILMED by the people who are running the PROJECTOR. The days of someone sitting in the theater with a camcorder are over, because many theaters now have night vision goggles which they give to their ushers to check and see if anyone is illegally filming a movie. Unfortunately for them, they fail to check the guy who runs their own equipment.
After I view the movie, if I like it I will buy it when it comes out on DVD because I want the best quality. If I don't like it, then I throw out or give away the DVD - I lost $5 vs. $50. Don't like the fact that I do this? Make your movies worth the $50 and the trip.
You do the math.
RM, PM me and you're welcome to whatever I have.
