A couple of questions on debarkation:
1. Is U.S. Customs inside the DCL terminal?
2. After you pass Customs, is there a waiting area? If I have to pick up a rental car and come back to pick up my family, is there a place they can sit and wait or do they have to stand in the parking lot outside the terminal?

I've only been on one Disney cruise, but I'll try to help. When we disembarked, we went down an escalator to the floor below the terminal where we boarded. There are porters waiting who are extremely helpful in finding your luggage and getting you through customs. If you are a US citizen then it's relatively easy. The customs officials are located at the exits of the terminal and we just needed to have our birth certificates and photo id's out as we passed through. If you are an international passenger, then you need to go through immigration on the morning of disembarking, which I believe was at 6am in one of the lounges.

As for having a place to sit while you go get the rental car, I honestly don't remember. Hopefully someone else can help you out with that question.

There are benches outside the terminal, by the curb. We waited there while DH took the shuttle to the Radisson to get our car.

Happy sailing!

We just came back from the 7/10 Magic cruise not long ago. To get to the car rental agency pickup zone after leaving, we had to follow a white crosswalk around the construction in front of the DCL terminal to the parking lot across the street where there was a large white tent where the Hotels and rental car agencies picked up their customers. The porters will carry your bags for you if you wish. There is no place to sit when you get there, but the busses come frequently and we were not there more than 5 minutes while waiting for Budget.
