Debarkation Process

Good morning!

Has anyone gone through the debarkation process post-covid that is willing to share their experience? I've heard rumors of DCL using the color system where you can't leave until your color is called. I'm also wondering if you are allowed to walk off with your luggage anytime instead of waiting for your color to be called? We are heading to a park when we leave the ship, so wanted to see what our expectations should be.

There is an express walk off with your luggage that begins as soon as the ship is cleared (usually around 7/7:30am). For those that want the luggage taken off for you, you leave your luggage outside of your room the evening before with colored character tags and the next morning you wait until your character is called. On our September cruise they were all called at the same time because the passenger numbers were low. Also, if you have main dining your debarkation time will be earlier.

Is there still an option for luggage to go straight to the airport if you are on the DCL transfer, or is that gone like the ME luggage is?

Walked off the fantasy at our leisure yesterday morning. Put our luggage out the night before. Had breakfast in cabanas around 8:00. Walked straight off the ship around 8:30. No line. No one else around us. Got a porter. Got our luggage. Went thru customs with no line. Got to our car and were on the road home before 9:00.

They did make an announcement on the ship earlier in the morning that anyone wanting to walk off their luggage was free to do so.

We were told just to off when we wanted after they called the Express people off.
We left after our 7:00 breakfast was over.
The suitcases go with you to the airport and you handle them

I read one report last month that the onboard airline check-in was offered, but that poster didn't use it. So I don't know if the luggage service has actually returned or not.

Not yet, you have to bring your luggage to your DCL transfer bus back to the airport. We get a porter to help us take the luggage
to the bus and tip him at least $5 for two suitcases plus backpack.
