We are going out of Miami for the first time (driving to the port). Port Canaveral is very simple and I'm not sure how easy it will be in Miami. Does the customs line get long? Also are there restrooms after we get off the boat (after customs)? I have a toddler that is potty training.

We just disembarked from the Magic in Miami this past Saturday (2/1). We were concierge so we were escorted off the ship but waited in line for customs with everyone else. We got off a little after 8am and waited in the customs line maybe 10 minutes. I don't think there was a restroom after customs because at that point, you're basically outside. If you're taking DCL transportation to MIA, the busses are to the right of where you entered for security on embarkation (so, roughly a 2-3 minute walk from customs).

Edited to fix a typo.

It's not bad. DCL staggers disembarkation by the luggage tag characters, which is designed to also stagger the number of people flowing through customs. Unless you have something to declare (which adds a few minutes of scrutiny) you shouldn't have a long wait. As the previous poster mentioned, there are no restrooms from the time you disembark until after customs. You should probably have your toddler go right before leaving the ship.

Cheers!

Does DCL provide transportation to WDW from Miami?
No. We have rented a car in Miami and driven to WDW for the continuation of our vacation three times, including last month. An easy drive, and the one-day rentals were each less than $75 plus gas and tolls. In fact, one time, it was actually less than $45. Tolls vary depending on the route followed. We take FL112 to I95 to FL528 to FL417 rather than the turnpike. Takes a bit longer but much cheaper tollwise.

We did express walk off a year ago and there was like one party in front of us at customs. I, literally, couldn't get the passports and birth certificates out of our folder fast enough before it was our turn. It was insanely easy. There can always be delays that are specific to circumstances of the particular cruise, but there's nothing inherent to Miami to make it slow.
