Dear Walt Disney Television...

First, I'd like to take this rare opportunity to thank you for all the wonderful quality programming you've graced my entire family with for many years. From the time that television was in its infancy, Walt Disney has been a part of television excellence, both entertaining and educating its audiences.

Unfortunately, this trend has apparently seen its end. Recent years have thrown away classic Disney television moments, in favor of the quick moneymaking styles of Hannah Montana, or one of the incarnations of Zack and Cody. Even the retooling of "Disney XD" has seen only limited, niche success. Either way, entertainment has given way to total annoyance.

With the fall television season in full swing, we've seen networks all over televsion showing their new wares and re-inventions. One can't help but notice the retooling that Viacom has done with its Nickelodeon networks. It would seem that their changes place them in a more positive light. (The only complaint I have of theirs is that the "Nick at Nite" shows should all be moved to their TVLand network, and Nick should remain Nick 24/7 (without changing)).

As a lifelong Disney afficionado and lover of all things touched by Walt's dreams, it pains me to say that with the way things have progressed these days, my television time is going to Nickelodeon, and their Viacom networks. I am quite certain that I'm not the only one who seems to be making this switch.

If you wan to retrieve the seemingly thousands of lost viewers (and potentially hundreds of thousands of advertising dollars), I'd recommend reviewing what made Walt's dream so successful. I'd suggest the consideration of replaying and celebration of Classic Disney.

In the meantime, I'm willing for my programming dollars to be spent otherwise.

Respectfully,

Me.

mkay, mkay, mkay, I'm positive that actually sending this note would mean diddley-squat to Disney. I'm sure they could honestly care less. But, I needed to get that off my chest. Thanks for listening.

So: Have you canceled cable, so that you're no longer paying for Disney?
