1 drink is not going to kill you. It's been medically proven that wine helps you live longer, especially red wine. Also, the drinking age is ridiculous. It was set with no real rhyme or reason, it's "just because". If I'm 18 and I can enter the military, get married, and pay my own taxes, I'm sure as heck gonna have a glass of wine to help me unwind.
As long as you know how to drink responsibly (not drinking yourself into sleep or hiring a cab instead of driving home) I have no qualms about underage drinking. Furthermore, we risk our lives everyday whether we have a choice or not. Cars kill us, utensils kill us, even breathing can kill us. Our lives are already put in the balance simply by living, because you never know when the plug is going to be pulled. It is highly, highly unlikely than a drink is going to increase your chance of dying.
Lastly, alcohol poisioning and drunk driving will occur with any sort of alcohol consumption, not just from the ages of birth to 21. Saying underage drinking is bad but legal drinking isn't is fairly illogical at some points.
Just my personal response to anyone and everyone. No bashing intended. Just looking at things from the other side of the spectrum.![]()
oops, ill edit if just for you![]()

Always love,
Sonya.
dear whoever is interested,
everything she said & more.
NGL, i've been drinking since long before it was legal for me, heck i'm even considered underaged in the US still! and i am a smart, functional human being. none of my insides, outsides, or any other parts have been damaged from alcohol. i've never once risked my life while drinking, i/nor anyone i know has ever gotten into a car (besides a cab) after drinking...a lot of people are stupid about drinking and wind up getting in accidents, but a lot of people are stupid period.
pretty much what sonya said in regards to underage drinking vs legally drinking, it's not just people under 19/21 who can drink themselves to the point of alcohol poisoning etc.
but of course, everyone's entitled to their opinions and obviously if someone thinks drinking is bad they are absolutely allowed to think that, but there are smart ways to drink, and there are not smart ways to drink. and that can go for anyone at any age. that's just MHO on the matter
