Dear Riders Of Pirates...

I had a large group behind me on pirates in DL.

As soon as they took the first flash pic with their SLR, i turned around and asked them politely to stop taking pics.

Did they listen? Nah. Carried on taking flash pics through out the whole ride.

I also get migraines that can be triggered by flashes.

People are great ;-)

That is just rude! Maybe they don't speak English? Anyway, might be a good time to exhibit your Tourette's Syndrome, and start flailing your arms about. "Accidentally" knocking their camera into the watery grave of the old bayou.......ahh..... :)

That's interesting, because I once, no....actually 6 × ended up with problems not from large groups, but groups of very large people. Butt ;) not to get off topic. Lol
Omg! A thousand pardons. In the event am once again being extremely cruel. Lmao

Agree with the OP and the other posters about talkers, screamers, splashers, people who MUST photograph/video everything, people who think profanity is funny, and... my favorite: couples who make out (groping, heavy breathing, the works) on POTC. Get a room, people! And have some common courtesy for those around you.

We were on POTC with one of these lovely couples. The CM came on the loud speaker to let them know they were on camera and their behavior was inappropriate. They jumped apart pretty quickly while the rest of the boat got a good laugh. :rotfl2:

That's awesome!!! :rotfl:

I had this happen on Tower at DHS...the people in front of me were LOUDLY overreacting and talking along with the narration, to the point where I couldn't hear it.

I actually shushed them, but they didn't hear me...

One must shush louder and with feeling! :)

They were a south american tour group but i didnt want to mention this as i was worried i would be accused of racism :-)

They understood english fine.

I find it pretty irritating when people bring out their smartphone and start texting on rides. The whole freaking ride. Really? Why do you spend all this time waiting in line and then go on a ride when all you do is text and not even pay attention to the ride? You could as well just have set outside doing your texting. That happened to me both on POTC and on HM on my last trip. So when it's supposed to be dark around you and all you see is the brightly lit screen of a huge *** smartphone? Not fun at all. I got so ticked off at that guy in the doom buggy in front of me on HM I decided to tell the CM after getting off the ride. I know the CMs at HM can be pretty intimidating in their own way. So this tall 300lbs guy got a pretty good rundown by this tiny 100lbs girl. He was pretty intimidated by her. It was pretty funny to watch.

We were on some agricultural ride in WDW and some girls were talking in Spanish repeatedly how stupid it was. They were pretty shocked when I told them in Spanish to be quiet and let us enjoy the ride. I guess living in Nevada, I just assume most people speak Spanish. Lol!

I have the best story of annoying people talking on the ride. We had just boarded and the group of 4 young adults behind us asked my husband to take their pic. It took him a minute to set the picture and try and get all 4 of them in the frame from 2 feet away, and one of the girls said, "Any day Junior". Since my husband is north of 50, I thought it was pretty funny, and annoying since they talked the rest of the way loudly. I'm quite sure they had had a few drinks over at CA.

As annoying as it was, it is now my new nickname for him! :D

She really said that? When he was doing them a favor!! How rude! I would have handed them back their camera and told them to take their own picture!

I'd so love there to be a rule about folks having to put away phones and cameras on rides. On our last trip, a girl who was about 12 or 13 had her phone out, screen lit up, taking video from the front seat on SM. It completely ruined the sense of being "in space," as her phone was the brightest thing in the ride building.

My reaction to a rude guest on small world is probably something I should be ashamed of but I'm not. This guy in front of me was taking flash pictures and video with two different devices (video with an iPhone and flash pictures with his regular camera) and he kept turning around and the flash would go right in my eye. I kept saying that I wish he would stop, so after one more flash picture right in my eye I sat and waited for him. I got my camera ready and as soon as he turned around I had my camera flash ready and close to him and got him right back full in the face. For the rest of the ride I leaned forward and sang to the small world song, right in his ear and I am not a good singer. But he didn't turn around again. I figured if he was going to ruin my ride, I was going to ruin his. I probably shouldn't have done it but his flash was ticking me off!

OMG that is so awesome! I will so remember to do that next time someone blinds me with their damn flash.

That was you?! :rolleyes1

On our last trip, we were so excited to see the Halloween fireworks! The idiots behind us, 4 teenage boys, kept yelling OOOH and AWWW at everything. I turned around and politely asked their father if he could quiet them and he said it was out of his control. I was nice, the guy next to me was NOT. He said "shut them the heck up or I will do it for you" (his words were a little more R rated). The father immediately left the are with his sons.
My new goal for watching fireworks is to make sure we are standing next to a heavily tattooed former linebacker! (he really was the nicest guy after they left!).

I experience this issue as well. It gets really annoying. It seems like everyone in the boat wants to either talk or take flash pictures right in front of me.
If someone is using flash on a ride I will tell them to stop. If they don't stop I yell st them after the ride is over. IMO people who think its OK to he loud and/or use flash should be thrown out of the park.

We've done HM more than once and my son STILL freaks out in the stretching room because of all the screaming. It it so bad that even though he really loves the ride, he refuses to do it because of the noise.
:(

Ask to skip the stretching room if DL has one. I have a friend who can't do stretching room at wdw and we can skip it.

We've asked a few times and only once have they been able to allow us to skip the stretching room. There was an available CM and he took us through a side gate and he led us though a REALLY dark back route, up what I am pretty sure is a CM only area!

It was cool to go through a back area but it was almost totally pitch black and DS was not a big fan of that!
