Dear Riders Of Pirates...

I didn't know you can skip the stretching room! DD hated the stretching room.

In 7 trips we have only done it once. You can ask but I would not count on being able to. The route takes you behind scenes and can only be done if they have enough cm there to spare one.

It was a little bit of pixie dust the one time we did it.

PLEASE STOP TALKING!!! I have completely given up on riding this ride unless it's almost closing time and I can enjoy a boat by myself. For the last two months, every single time I go to ride, I am stuck on a boat surrounded by people that would rather talk to each other loudly about random things (like last night, talking about home remodeling) than to enjoy this amazing experience. Please just think of others around you! Imagine if it was someone's first time riding this ride, and that was the experience you just gave them. So please, PLEASE!! Just stop talking and let everyone enjoy the ride.

YES!! I had the same experience the last time I was at Disneyland. So annoying! I can understand talking about things on the ride, or pointing things out to someone, but the random chatter about nothing related to the ride at all is rather disappointing and makes for a less than magical experience.

And when you're traveling through the bayou... please don't shout at the people who are trying to enjoy a nice meal in the Blue Bayou restaurant! I will say this was during a grad nite last week, and almost every boat that came through, while my BF and I were trying to enjoy our dinner at a waterside table, yelled out things like "Can you see us?!" "Are you real?!" "How's your dinner?!" It got old really fast. We could barely have a conversation with all of the shouting.

I'd imagine it's easier to skip the stretching room at WDW since you don't actually change levels at WDW. Since you're actually going to a lower level at DL that could explain the longer behind the scenes route.

We've asked a few times and only once have they been able to allow us to skip the stretching room. There was an available CM and he took us through a side gate and he led us though a REALLY dark back route, up what I am pretty sure is a CM only area!

It was cool to go through a back area but it was almost totally pitch black and DS was not a big fan of that!

Ah the one at the world is fully themed and decorated. XD It's the same way they let ECV chairs on.

I couldn't agree more! I also can't stand it when people take flash pictures for the entire ride!

Since this thread kinda morphed into something else I'll share my story from last week. All set up to watch the PtN parade after waiting 2.5 hours in our spot. The opening announcement starts and a woman behind me whips out her smartphone and starts recording...no problem except the giant spotlight she's throwing out. I'm hoping that's it's just for a quick picture, but no it become clear she intends to have it on for an extended period of time. I turn around and loudly ask her to shut it off and everyone around me cheered (just kidding, the "everyone around me cheered" never really happens in any retelling of any story).

She actually didn't hear me, even though I very loudly asked her to turn it off. There was a woman even further away from her who heard me though. She tapped the offender on the shoulder, "Excuse me, he asked you turn off your light." She did and we weren't bothered the rest of the performance. If she wasn't so far away I would have given that woman a high-five. Why do people bring a spotlight to a light parade?

what about the talkers towards the end of the ToT preshow? i came there to listen to Rod Serling not you people! lol

I have just now worked up the courage to ride ToT on our next trip and I might slap somebody if they're talking over Rod Serling (I LOVE HIM).

The talkers are jaded locals. They've done Pirates (and other rides) a quadzillion times, and it's old hat to them. Of course, why they keep riding it is anybody's guess. But it's definitely not tourists doing this; they don't get to ride it often enough to be ho hum about the experience.

That's the spirit!
One word of advice; if you believe for just one second that you might experience motion sickness then prepare for ToT early. Try ginger and or sea bands. Or look into other options. I haven't tried any of these measures yet, and wish I had known to do so before my first ToT adventure. Lol
:faint:

Thanks for the advice, but drops normally don't bother me too much, so I think I'll be okay! I don't know why I've been fearful in the past, tbh.
