OK gang, this idea MUST have been discussed here many times, but I missed it, so I will "pretend" that I just thought of it:
A fifth "Gate" (Theme Park) at WDW called:
-DISNEY'S CLASSIC KINGDOM- (DCK)
It could contain a whole assortment of historical attractions that have become "extinct" but are sorely missed by many Disney-lovers.
(Think of the yesterland.com website.)
It could be built without the extra "big bucks" for the conceptual steps that it takes to create entirely NEW attractions (the "designing" has all been done.)
It would be a place that could be enjoyed with nostalgia, and a place to show new generations what "Classic" theme park attractions share with their more modern ancestors.
I think that if presented with "period style".
Unusual character greetings with "Steamboat Willy" (Black & White) Mickey, a more "quaint-looking Minnie) maybe Clarabelle Cow, etc.
Or, if we considered it to be a "STEP BACK IN TIME" maybe "baby" or "pre-teen" Mickey, Donald, Goofy and the others.
Just brainstorming a bit here... I might be nuts!
I know I would spend an extra day (plus) in WDW just to visit such a park!!
So, here's my list of possible attractions...
I'm sure YOU have some others to add (and/or to fight about)
Disney's "Classic Kingdom"
featuring the attractions that are a beloved part of Disney theme-park history.
Classic Disneyland/WDW-MK:
America the Beautiful Film (CircleVision 360)
Adventures in INNER SPACE (Disneyland: sponsored by Monsanto)
America Sings (Could have several different shows).
Submarine Voyage
Rocket to the Moon
Mission to Mars (I know where they could get a couple of nice THEATERS)
Skyway (Gondola Cable Cars)
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
If You Had Wings (Airline Sponsor)
"Painted Desert" (Motion-effects like Jungle Cruise. Steam Train Excursion)
Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln
Flying Saucers (modern technology could make them actually WORK)
Rocket Rods (newer motor technology MIGHT make them actually WORK)
Magic Journeys (3D Film)
Captain EO (3D Film) (Oh well, depending upon "you-know-who")
Classic WDW-Epcot:
Journey Into Imagination (Original version-Yes!)
Horizons (OH, Yes!!)
World of Motion (with: "Its Fun to Be Free" Ride and "Bird & Robot")
Food Rocks
Kitchen Kabaret
Parade of Nations (2000-2001 Puppet Parade)
Classic IllumiNations Shows (& LaserPhonic Fantasy)
Afternoon Ultra-Light Plane Lake Show (Surprise in the Skies)
Classic WDW-D-MGM Studios:
Animation Film(s) with Robin Williams and Walter Chronkite
Plus, a Multiplex of Classic-styled MOVIE THEATER Auditoriums
that projected Disney classic films on the BIG SCREEN
so parents and kids could see the films as they were originally intended.
OK, any more ideas??
