OK gang, this idea MUST have been discussed here many times, but I missed it, so I will "pretend" that I just thought of it:

A fifth "Gate" (Theme Park) at WDW called:

-DISNEY'S CLASSIC KINGDOM- (DCK)

It could contain a whole assortment of historical attractions that have become "extinct" but are sorely missed by many Disney-lovers.
(Think of the yesterland.com website.)

It could be built without the extra "big bucks" for the conceptual steps that it takes to create entirely NEW attractions (the "designing" has all been done.)

It would be a place that could be enjoyed with nostalgia, and a place to show new generations what "Classic" theme park attractions share with their more modern ancestors.
I think that if presented with "period style".
Unusual character greetings with "Steamboat Willy" (Black & White) Mickey, a more "quaint-looking Minnie) maybe Clarabelle Cow, etc.

Or, if we considered it to be a "STEP BACK IN TIME" maybe "baby" or "pre-teen" Mickey, Donald, Goofy and the others.
Just brainstorming a bit here... I might be nuts!

I know I would spend an extra day (plus) in WDW just to visit such a park!!

So, here's my list of possible attractions...
I'm sure YOU have some others to add (and/or to fight about) :teeth:

Disney's "Classic Kingdom"
featuring the attractions that are a beloved part of Disney theme-park history.

Classic Disneyland/WDW-MK:
America the Beautiful Film (CircleVision 360)
Adventures in INNER SPACE (Disneyland: sponsored by Monsanto)
America Sings (Could have several different shows).
Submarine Voyage
Rocket to the Moon
Mission to Mars (I know where they could get a couple of nice THEATERS)
Skyway (Gondola Cable Cars)
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
If You Had Wings (Airline Sponsor)
"Painted Desert" (Motion-effects like Jungle Cruise. Steam Train Excursion)
Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln
Flying Saucers (modern technology could make them actually WORK)
Rocket Rods (newer motor technology MIGHT make them actually WORK)
Magic Journeys (3D Film)
Captain EO (3D Film) (Oh well, depending upon "you-know-who")

Classic WDW-Epcot:
Journey Into Imagination (Original version-Yes!)
Horizons (OH, Yes!!)
World of Motion (with: "Its Fun to Be Free" Ride and "Bird & Robot")
Food Rocks
Kitchen Kabaret
Parade of Nations (2000-2001 Puppet Parade)
Classic IllumiNations Shows (& LaserPhonic Fantasy)
Afternoon Ultra-Light Plane Lake Show (Surprise in the Skies)

Classic WDW-D-MGM Studios:
Animation Film(s) with Robin Williams and Walter Chronkite

Plus, a Multiplex of Classic-styled MOVIE THEATER Auditoriums
that projected Disney classic films on the BIG SCREEN
so parents and kids could see the films as they were originally intended.

OK, any more ideas??

How about a really fast Roller Coaster where you have to wear 3-D glasses. I'm thinking they could use The Matrix for theming. How cool would that be?

But if that isn't classic enough for you, what about Tower of Terror II. This would be just like Tower of Terror I, but instead of 13 stories it would have 25 floors (or more!). Again I think the addition of 3-D glasses would only make such an attraction even more "Classic".

I also think we need some classic entertainment choices to round out the experience. For purely nostalgic reasons I would love to see Disney bring in all the classic grunge bands from the early 90's. How cool would it be to grab a churro and make your way over to a band shell and take in an evening of Pearl Jam and Sound Garden.

I would love to see more actual rides/attractions based on classic films....a cinderella ride, sleeping beauty, and some rides that are focused on more modern huge disney hits like Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, I think with todays ride technology they could make a Peter Pan ride that is amazing! (maybe base it on peter pan II return to neverland) A monsters inc ride, ofcourse the villain coaster would be great if that ever happens....I know its great that they have the shows for some of the movies, but I dont think its enough.

I would ride a virtual reality ride with Johnny Depp!!!! :lovestruc
But back to the classics what was the ride in wdw where you looked like you got shrunk? (I think it was the airline one) For years I thought you really did shrink. It was those things that made disney magical for me as a child.

I 100000% support a park with some of Disneyworld's (and Land's) old rides :) Make sure you add Dreamflight to the list!! :)

And i really like the idea of having some of Disney's older (and unfortunately, now publicly forgotten characters) walking around! Like Mickey's nephews, Mordie and Ferdie! And Horace Horsecollar! Clarabelle Cow! And maybe some old versions of how characters used to look at the park: Like Winnie the Pooh with the honey pot on his head :) I also like the OP's idea of baby characters like baby Donald walking around! or at the very least, their older appearances.

It doesnt seem as if Disney is going to bring the old rides back and at this point I'm not expecting it...but having a whole park (or at least, land/area in a park) dedicated to this theme (of which many a Disney fan were made due to these attractions/characters) would be awesome :)

And the night attractions there: Main Street Electrical Parade :)

I would ride a virtual reality ride with Johnny Depp!!!!
Yeah, yeah, yeah! I like this idea! I'd be on it ALL the time! It'd be a sure hit w/me! ~Daxx's Wife

I'd be happy if Disney would release films of the old rides at least on DVD so we could enjoy them. I'm sure they have professionally lit footage somewhere in their archives...

Such a park would be very cool...

I ordered a few dvd's off of extinct theme park attractions, it had the whole history and a ride through of 10,000 leagues under the sea (both DL and DW) and I also bought the Haunted Mansion DVD which also has a ride through and A LOT of history on it and what it was supposed to be and how everything came to be, VERY cool....I hope they get one for Mr. Toads Wild Ride
