Dear Disney

I am an avid fan, I dream my days away of walking down Main Street and immersing myself in your fantasy, I pretend I am rocketing through space, or a swashbuckling pirate. I imagine what it would be like to live during the golden ages of Hollywood or even traveling down the great rivers of the world. But more than that I see the excitement on my kid’s faces, the week where they fight not over toys but because they don't want to go home.

I have seen you grow from one park to two, three and now four. You have matured over the years since that time long ago where I had to have a booklet that only let me ride certain rides one time no matter if I wanted to stay in line or not.

You will continue to evolve and change and I will come to understand how the process works, but you won't change one thing. You will continue to put that smile on my face and you won't take away memories I have or have yet to make with you.

Perfectly expressed. The memories will continue to be made, regardless of how Disney goes about managing crowds, whether we ride TSMM four times in one day, or just once, we will still have a great time.

I think that's a wonderful letter from the OP! It expresses the way I feel everytime I visit, plan a visit, or even think about visiting.

Even though I express a dislike of a decision the execs make, it doesn't mean I don't love the place.

I just had to do this, it is about the planning, anticipation, memories, and everything that comes with it.

Call me ignorant or blinded by love but as an AP holder and somebody who has been to 8 of the 11 parks worldwide (excluding water parks) I just can't get enough... Sure there are things that can change but I am certain my wife and kids feel the same about me sometimes, it doesn't change the love I have of the parks one bit.

It is about the memories, the escape from reality, the ability to be lost like a child even at this crotchety age, and passing on my love to those whom I love the most.

My 4 year old doesn't know what FP+ is. He does not care if its Winnie the Pooh or Big Thunder Mountain. He cares that he is having fun with his parents. I deal with the mess so he can have fun right along with us. It's worth every second i spend over planning (by choice). We love Walt Disney World and will always love it. It allows us to spend family time together with no interruptions from the outside world. I will enjoy it while he is young. Then i will enjoy the quiet time with my wife when our son is older. It is about the experience and the memories we make through those experiences. And the stories we laugh about every time we tell them. I love the mouse and the man who brought him to life.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had begun to dread logging onto the Dis boards the past couple of weeks. The doom and gloom posts have seemed to get worse every day. I will admit, when I clicked on your "Dear Disney" post, I expected more of the same, but almost cried when it was actually a love note to Disney that I could have written myself. Our 4th WDW trip is coming up in October. The first one was in the summer of 1997 as a gift from my mom after my father died. We took our 10 year old DS and almost 13 year old DS with us and even with the heat and crowds even they became children again! The last trip was with our late-in-life surprise child, almost 4 year old DS. MNSSHP and all the magic on top of the joy of our son made memories to last a lifetime. Our DS will be almost 9 when we return this October and he could care less about FP+, or having to stand in line, or any of the other things so many adults fret over. He can't wait to re-experience the magic that is Disney! I am sure I could ruin the trip for all of us by stressing over what rides to ride with what FP and all the rest, but I refuse to do that. Sorry to hi-jack your post, but you finally gave me something to post about!!
