Please really retire this time. You are one of the greatest QB's of all time but you are destroying your legacy with the whole "retired one day, unretired the next". You should have retired as a Packer, but that's ok. But GIVE IT UP please!!!:headache:

yes!!!!!

Oh my YES!!!

I can't believe this is all going again....with no real confirmation, just "someone" said they "heard" from Favre that he was retiring. Besides all the other stuff, how unclassy is this guy not to tell his coach first. What a jerk....IF it's true.

STOP THE INSANITY!!!!!!!

and please go away Favre.....

I really dont care if he plays or not. He had a good season last year so I dont see anything wrong with him playing this year.

However -- MAKE UP YOUR ##$@% MIND!!! This whole drama queen thing is very old and does nothing but hurt the impressions people have about you and therefore will hurt you legacy down the line.

You've had 6 months to decide what you are doing...is it REALLY that hard to decide?? It's not like your buying a tv from Sears or something!?!?! ;)

I so agree with this. I have been a Packer fan since Bart Starr days and it hurt to watch him play in purple.

You know he will be back on the field as soon as training camp is almost over.

I bet he comes back mid season. He had a great start of the season and then just wore out by the end. They want him healthy if the Vikings are going to try for the Super Bowl but I think he it too beat up to last an entire season.

I agree! RETIRE! I live in MN and witnessed the fair-weather MN fans hop on the bandwagon for the Vikes this past season. While it was cool to see that much support, I know it was only because of Farve. I hate the back and forth game. Get a bunch of really good players and then the support will be real.

I will watch Brett Favre play for as many years as he wants to play. And he can waffle and back-and-forth and tease and string us along all he wants.

I've been a Packer fan since before Super Bowl I, and I agree that it hurt a little to watch him wear Jets and Vikings jerseys. But football won't be as much fun without him!

:earsboy:

Totally disagree 100%. He had the best season of his career last year. He can still play. The Vikings are WAY better with him than with Tavaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels. And as a Cowboys fan, there's no way I'm watching a Vikings game unless he is playing. The NFL is infinitely more entertaining when Brett is on the field.

I agree he's a bit of a drama queen about the whole thing and the media circus over it get ridiculous......

But he had one of the best seasons last year. As long as he does that every time he un-retires then I don't think he's hurting his legacy one bit.

I'm not a Vikings fan but I am a Brett Favre fan. That Monday night game after his father died, well, lets just say it was like watching magic. I still think it's his brightest moment.
I don't think it's fair to his teams (Packers, Jets and then Vikings) to be so wishy washy about his decision. One year (cant remember which one) he held a press conference to say he still hadn't made up his mind yet:rolleyes: And he has strung out each decision and gone back and forth. Not fair to other QB's (Poor Aaron Rodgers...he must have felt like he was on a see saw) or the rest of the teams to be hung in limbo during camp. He had a great season last year, that's undeniable. But if you are gonna play, play. If you aren't, don't. Figure it out and quit messing with your fans, your team and your legacy!

I could never dispute this. I agree 100%. But one more season could be his worst (you can see I'm a half glass empty kind of girl). He had a horrible season with the Packers a year or 2 before he finally left them and it was then he started with hinting about retirement. I understood his need to redeem himself by playing one last season (I'm really hazy on what year this was and Google isn't helping). He had a great season last year, end on a high note. I'm not thinking about specific teams, but the man himself.

An ESPN commentator this morning pointed out that Favre is getting close to the Yogi Berra line. Yogi had so many malapropisms, that it ended up being what he is known for. Not his career as an amazing catcher. And I honestly think Favre has crossed that line with this whole retirement circus. I hope I'm wrong. He's a great guy, incredible QB, and will walk into the HOF. I'm on his side. But he's going to kill poor John Madden with his yearly indecisiveness :rotfl:

I missed this the first time I read your post. :lmao: Too funny!

What Favre apparently hasn't learned in all his years here is Midwesterners have no patience or respect for people that dilly dally.

You'd be hard pressed to find many fans left in Packerland.

And that's a shame, he could have had an undying appeciation and love from his fans if he had done things differently. And I know there are still diehard Favre fans out there (my DD16 being one of them), but I believe he has lost a lot of respect. His fans, teammates, the press....he just shouldn't be going out this way. It goes against everything we thought we knew about him for years. No media stunts like T.O. (no hate please, I really, really like T.O.) or Ochocinco...but now, well this retirement thing is really making him look bad.

I agree.

He's turned into a laughingstock. Third time in three summers?? Remember the boy that cried wolf?

No one believes him anyway. :rotfl:

Most of the fans around here are Packer fans, NOT Favre fans.

Psssstttt.... He can come to Texas as far as I'm concerned. ;)

He just wants to skip training camp.
So he pulls this stunt for 3 weeks and viola-training camp over.

I was at Green Bay, the nite he decided to fly in and come to Lambeau Field. It was Family nite and the packers were scrimmaging with defense against offense. They wouldn't let him in the locker room and he went up to his Family's suite and banged on the windows and stood there for everyone to see him. The next 2 days they had meetings with Favre and the GM and coaches wouldn't let him back. It was really heart breaking how they treated Favre, but he made that big retirement story back in February and he changed his mind to play in August, and the Packers said, "see ya".
