Dean and OKW and BWV

To all who like their respective resorts (Loudly I might add), take heart and to the defense of Dean and the bashing he MIGHT enconter- TUG (timeshare users group) has ranked BOTH OKW and BWV as the top 10 timeshares on the planet!!!!!!! So take heart, DVCer's, you have the choice of the 2 best timeshares (are we allowed to use that word here? LOL), so stop beating your chest, for one or the other, they are BOTH great!!!! I have never been to OKW to stay, but I brag to all of my friends, etc, that it is a Disney property, they are All great in their own way!!!!!

OKW was on the list before BWV was built, so..... OKW was first.

What order they are in today, I don't care, we own at both, plus BCV, and they are the nicest timeshares we have ever stayed in or owned. For the record I have owned up to 6 timeshares and have stayed in at least 8. TUG, Dean and DIS have been very valuable resources over the years, my hats off to all. Thanks.......spruce

BWV was ranked 2nd behind the 4 seasons in Carlsbad, CA. OKW was ranked 8th. BWV ranked 9.76 out of a possible 10.0 and OKW ranked 9.59. BWV therefore ranked 1.02% higher than OKW based upon TUG rankings, which are done by people who have been at the resorts who post ratings.

For what it's worth. I own at both. I love both.

I'm confused as to what bashings I might take or give out. I don't think I've ever based any of the DVC resorts though I have been honest about some of the misgivings. I have said the points structure is a little uneven with BC having views more equivilent to BW standard views. I've also said that I viewed BW as a more upscale and higher priced resort than WLV also making the points structure a little uneven. I've said that there are better locations and as good or better resorts on HH outside of DVC. Always with the caveat that all of the DVC resorts were greatj, just that nothing is perfect.

I have taken some bashing on DVC's behalf on TUG. Basically DVC is looked at as an outsider and some of the hard core TuG people are unhappy with DVC for a number of reasons including the extra $95 fee charged for II exchanges.

HH is 9.44 with 9 reviews. Once it gets 10 reviews, it will be counted and should be around #14. VB is 9.1 which puts it below #30. WL is at 9.79 with 7 reviews which will put it around #2 just ahead of BW though I don't expect that rating to quite hold up. VB was around 8.9 so it's climbed somewhat. Those that have stayed at these resorts, are members of TUG and haven't rated yet should do so. Actually, you may not have to be a TUG member to rate the resorts, some one who is not a member should go to TUG and give it a try.

The DVC ratings are somewhat inflated in a sense. Since it's mostly DVC members that stay there, the reviews are from members rather than exchagners. Timesharing today only accepts reviews from those that don't own at that particular resort.
