I'm about 7 weeks along with #4. Our little surprise baby!! I am soooo sick! On phenegran and B6 and not a change yet.

We leave for Disney in just a few weeks and I don't know how in the world I'm going to make it through the parks! We're there for over 2 weeks! We're on the DDP and the thought of eating so much as a sandwich sends me over the edge. :guilty:

If you have any tips on how to deal with this while in the scorching heat please let me know! I am so worried I'm going to ruin this huge trip for my family. :sad2:

How many weeks until you go? I remember that around 10 weeks my queasiness just stopped. So maybe that will happen for you too!

Just do your puking near the landscaping at the exit to the rougher rides. People won't think anything of it. ;)

Going into my second trimester, I started to get really bad morning sickness, so the doctor prescribed some medicine to help. It works like a charm. You take it right before a meal and is good for 6 hours. I can take it up to 3 times/day or as needed. So far, one in the morning has made a huge difference. (Now, I just take it once every few days when I feel really crummy) When I first got the medicine, I was feeling better within 10 minutes and ate a big burger and fries for lunch. While it sounds perfect, there is a warning to stay out of direct sunlight--tough to do on vacation. I guess lots of sunblock and a big hat would help. (ETA: The medicine may cause blurred vision--so far no problem there but that could be because I am already blind as a bat).

Another thing I do is carry the "barf bag" from the airplane in my purse. It helps me go longer than I think I can knowing I have access to something if a bathroom or trashcan isn't close by. Definitely worth trying for piece of mind.

The last two things, for me, is sipping Cherry 7-up or Sprite through a straw--gets past the gag reflex easier and peppermint. I chew either a Bubblemint gum (Orbitz--it's fabulous) or suck on a peppermint candy.

Good luck. Morning sickness is no fun. I hope you find some relief soon.

im not pregnate but i get alot of nausea in the A.M and mint just makes it worse!

I'm not actually throwing up much.... just CONSTANTLY queasy and feeling like crap!! And anything mint does not sit well at all.

I had awful all day sickness for more than 1/2 the time I was pg. I found that on vacation, it would magically go away. It was almost like all of a sudden I had better things to think about or something.
What helped me some was to drink regular coke (and it had to be coke). Anything else just made me sicker and have me heartburn. Also, just take it as slow as you need. Listen to your body. HTH

Hopefully your m/s will be mainly gone by then, though.

ETA- sour patch kids were the only other thing besides the coke that helped when I would start feeling really queasy. It had something to do with the sourness of it. Those prego pops helped some but were not as sour

Are you taking prenatal vitamins, and in the morning? I had to take mine at night and that helped. I have friends that quit the prenatals and just took a Flintsones vitamin and folic acid supplements until they felt better.

Also had a friend that had to eat little bits of food constantly, if her stomach was empty she felt horrible, but if she would eat just a little bit hshe felt better.
Hope you find some suggestion that helps!!

Can't take the prenatal or flinstones at this point. This happened with my other 3 as well.

And why do they call it morning sickness when it's actually ALL.DAY.LONG! :scared1:

I don't know why they call it that. LOL Some MAN must have come up with the name. ;)

I never threw up, just wanted to all the time. I remember sitting at my dining room table on day crying because it was lunch time and although I knew I should eat something, I really didn't want to.

I also remember sitting in church a few hours before we announced it to the family at our Christmas gathering. I was between my DH and my MIL. I leaned over and told my DH I wanted to throw up. The look on his face was priceless. That greasy breakfast his mom made me was NOT sitting well.

I was so sick with DD (thankfully hardly at all with this one!). To the point where just being around running water would make me throw up. Showering and brushing my teeth were super. ;) The only thing I found that helped a bit were gumballs. And I tried everything! Sea Bands, ginger ale, eating small meals, etc. Unfortunately my insurance at the time wouldn't cover the anti-nausea meds and that's really what I needed. But gumballs helped.

I was nauseous morning, noon & night until my 9-10th week of pregnancy. I would keep Saltines by the bedside and in my work bag. I also tried preggo pops - they worked really well!!!!! My BFF swears by crystalized ginger.

Ginger snaps..

Also - if you have a very good prescription plan (it's extremely expensive - I know because I had to pay out-of-pocket) ask your doctor about taking Zofran instead.. It's used in patients receiving chemo and works extremely well with nausea..

Avoid getting overheated as much as possible - carry a wet wash cloth with you at all times and if need be, keep wetting it and draping it around your neck.. Also wear a sun visor or baseball-type cap to keep the sun off of your head..

Have fun! And congrats on the little one on the way!! :goodvibes

Ask the doctor for an rx for Zofran if you aren't feeling better by your trip. It was seriously my miracle drug and the only way I was able to function when I was preggo. I threw up 10-12 a day until I went on Zofran. Once I was on it, I only threw up 1-2 times a day which was a HUGE improvement. I was on it until 22 weeks.

I took Zofran. It helped a ton. I was on the DP and I was so miserable.

If you can talk your doc into giving you the Zofran--get the dissolving kind, it worked SOOO much better than the little pill.

You've gotten a lot of good advice, the only thing I would add is to use the Baby Centers if you need one--especially to get out of the heat. And I wanted top second Coke (sip it!! slowly like you would with a stomach bug) and hard candy...sucking on Jolly Ranchers really helped me a lot.

Good luck and take it easy! Remember you could be at home feeling sick, so you might as well enjoy being in WDW!

Thank you for all your suggestions! I'm currently on Phenegran and B6 with no relief. My next appt. is in 2 weeks. If I am still the same I'm going to ask about Zofran. Is this one okay to be out in the sun while on it?

And I had completely forgotten about ths straw trick! It's been almost 5 years since I was pregnant so all these little things are slowly coming back to me.

peppermint tic tacs helped me more than anything!

When I was so dehydrated during pregnancy that I was hospitalized they put me on phenegran and it made me so sleepy that all I did was doze, except to wake up to throw up. After a day and a half of that they changed me to Zofran and it was a wonderful thing.

There is no way I would have been able to walk around disney while on phenegran, I too would see if your insurance will cover zofran. Even on that I was still nauseas and needed to eat small meals all day long. Try to keep at least a little something in your stomach all of the time, it really does help.

I hope you feel better soon and can have a great trip! Just remember that little baby at the end makes all of this stuff so worth it.

I feel ya, sista  At least with my daughter I could throw up and then get on with my day. i had all day sickness with both my boys.

For me, standing around in that heat would put me over the edge. The only thing that gave me relief was being in cool, dark places where I could get still. Not a good description of anywhere in WDW(with the exception of the massage room at the GF:banana:) Is there anyway you could postpone the trip until you feel better? I can't imagine taking 3 kids to WDW while feeling this bad.
